Teabagger groups have not said anything yet about that ruling on the Defense of Marriage Act last week! Some feel hating the gays on this would distract from the Teabaggers’ real issue, paranoid schizophrenia “fiscal matters.” “Privately, though, many said they back the decision because it emphasizes the legal philosophy of states’ rights.” That Taxachusetts judge really did trick Teabaggers into supporting gay marriage! Hilarious.
“I do think it’s a state’s right,” said Phillip Dennis, Texas state coordinator for the Tea Party Patriots. The group does not take a position on social issues, he said, but personally, “I believe that if the people in Massachusetts want gay people to get married, then they should allow it, just as people in Utah do not support abortion. They should have the right to vote against that.”
Phillip Dennis was vomiting and blood was streaming out of his eyes when he said this, by the way.
The large tea party-affiliated organizations, including FreedomWorks and the Tea Party Nation, declined to comment on Tauro’s ruling because of their groups’ fiscal focus. “That’s just not something that’s on our radar,” said Judson Phillips, founder of the Tea Party Nation. He acknowledged, however, that some in his group — though not a majority — are opposed to the Defense of Marriage Act.
The situation is perhaps different in South Florida, where Wilkinson said “several hundred” of the group’s supporters are gay. “Our stance might be different than someone who’s in Oklahoma,” he said.
Sure, several hundred! Teabaggers are required to mark either “straight liberty-lover” or “no” on their registration forms, so that’s how this man has counted the gays. [Tip to Washinton Post reporter: At this point, maybe you call the Teabaggers in Oklahoma and such? To see what they have to say?]
This is a lesson to all activist judges. Just mention the Tenth Amendment in your ruling, and the Teabaggers really will automatically support it. That thing between the Teabaggers and the Tenth Amendment? That’s called true love, bro. It’s a love that transcends fear and hatred.
Awwwww! [WP]

I’m glad to see he’s willing to bite the bullet (and yes, “biting the bullet” is what the kids are calling it nowadays).
the equal protection clause is for assholes anyway.
“Our stance might be different than someone who’s in Oklahoma,” he said.
I’m sure the stance is a lot wider.
Hey wait, I thought the teabaggers supported freedom; but that guy says Utah should be able to outlaw abortion. That’s anti-freedom!
Oh wait, I forgot the teabaggers don’t actually know what freedom means, but just use it as a buzzword.
Just wait until scores of gay Mesicans are streaming across our border demanding to be married.
[re=616166]JMP[/re]: Freedom isn’t Freedom when you just give it away to everybody.
“That’s just not something that’s on our gayda…er, radar at the moment.”
Its summer. All the baggers are either on vacation or harvesting agricultural products to deprive the browns of jobs. That’s why they had to cancel their convention in Vegas. Right?
Yes, and if Mississippi wants to bring back slavery, they should be able to vote for that too, because it’s a state…wait, didn’t we have this fight already?
WOW. Several hundred gays support teabagging. Whoda thunk it?
In other words, the teabaggers were flummoxed by the legal version of “Look, over there! What the hell is that thing?”
Chewbacca defense FTW.
Is that a cute boy in the picture, holding the sign, or just a plain looking woman?
Tea is a natural astringent. This is why teabaggers sit in bowls of tea. Its astringent action puckers their fundamental orifice ever so tight that you’d have trouble driving a finishing nail up there with a hand sledge. None ghey buttsechs for our teatarders. No siree Bob.
[re=616187]weejee[/re]: Then please to explain the Palin hookworm issue?
Hmmm — so if DC wants to ban guns, it can? Oh, wait — DC doesn’t have any rights.
States Rights is dogwhistle for slavery. Gay? ok? Black? TENTH AMMINDMENT!!!1
[re=616196]SayItWithWookies[/re]: No, they don’t. Too many blk ppl there for that.
Perhaps they were pleased with Newt Gingrich’s announcement that he’s ‘thinking more strongly of running in 2012 than he ever has before’? Since about 30 GOP celebs are considering running the ‘baggers can make sure the final candidate is the most wingnuttery one available. End the IRS, Education, Commerce departments; deport the United Nations, force the illegalz to leave, and make English/Christianity/Guns a constitutional amendment.
More likely it’s their hatred of a black President that trumps all other concerns.
[re=616192]user-of-owls[/re]: Little hookies can burrow through yer skin, make their way to yer lungs, you cough them up, part way, and swallow. Viola, happy little hookers in yer plumbing.
Having a butt sechs-resistant posterior portals does, however, make pooping problematic. Absent pooping for months or years likely makes at least some of the teatarders a bit grumpy. This is basic science here, nothing esoteric.
I believe the funniest part of this story is “The group does not take a position on social issues, he said”.
When the Wonkette was resting on Sunday, all the homophobic teabaggers were crushed by a three-story homosexual man, a true giant, and not even the rod of God could help them. Didn’t yew know?
So just how much TIME does JOURNALISM TAKE?
Nameless commenters are fighting and dying for the Palin Hookworm Conjecture cause, man. We’ve breached the enemy defenses, we’re in the very belly of the beast. And yet more silence. ‘Palin hookworm’ now yields: 1) Wonkette; 2) Wonkette; 3) Ubervu cut/paste of Wonkette; 4) Ubervu cut/paste of Wonkette; and 5) REDSTATE!
How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a parasite?
This is why someone (ahem, the reporter covering the story) needs to really point out the distinction between Paultards (The Original Tea Party Patriots™) and the Teabaggers led by snowbilly queen Sarah Palin. The “Texas coordinator” of the teabaggers was probably an ex-pilot of the Ron Paul blimp– as opposed to, say, that asshole that went on Fox News and called Geraldo a disgrace for asking him about his “Allah is a monkey-god” comment (of all the things to call Geraldo a disgrace for!).
Hey, remember that time when the Washington Post hired some dude that actually knew things about the American right and reported accordingly, and then fired him for knowing things about the American right and reporting accordingly? LOL, good one, “WaPo”!
Someone didn’t get the memo that “states rights is not a code for racism” is really code for “states rights is code for racism.” These teabaggers are taking their rhetoric about “states rights” literally? Hi-larious!
[re=616216]user-of-owls[/re]:
Whose blood will spill, whose heart will break?
The hamsters are moving slowly; the hookworms of the Palin have apparently begun infesting them, as well.
Its’a slippery slope, us gays are always trying to find the slippery slope in everything.
What shall we call this utopia TEABAGISTAN? AYNRANDLAND? REAGANSHIRE? Too bad they can’t start their own government because well…DUH!
[re=616180]just pixels[/re]: There are plenty of gay people in the teabagger movement; you just wouldn’t know them, they’re Canadian.
[re=616238]Oblios Cap[/re]: sure they’re not gerbils?
“the Tea Party Patriots. The group does not take a position on social issues, he said”
Oh give me a goddamned break.
“The situation is perhaps different in South Florida, where Wilkinson said “several hundred” of the group’s supporters are gay.”
I could see that, there are more than a few yacht-class gays in Boca/Lauderdale/South Beach who are dumber than dirt.

[re=616229]comicbookguy[/re]: Have some pity, the memo got faxed upside down and backwards. And they thought, what the hell is this a page from a Dan Brown novel? Where’s the rest of it? And used it to light a puppy on fire.
Hey Wonktards, I wonder if you could suggest some home remedy for my allergies? I wonder what folksy home remedies might be available that would provide some relief for my allergic symptoms? Could you please tell me if you know of anything? Thanks.
Do you have a raw potato, a tree stump with some water and a fulll moon? oh, wait, that is the wart cure my bubbie swore by. Also if your sinuses are full, grate some fresh horseradish- you will clear those sinuses fast. If you are allergic to Palin and the baby Paul- turn off the internets, the Tv , radio and newspaper.
[re=616180]just pixels[/re]: I’ll bet there was some serious confusion when the two groups, supporting different ideals, showed up at the same community center for a meeting.
[re=616298]Darkness[/re]: If you just examine the architecture of Rockefeller Center it all becomes very clear.
The Tea Baggers in Iowa will complete this statement by informing you that in NO state where same sex marriage has been put to a vote has it passed. Here in Iowa, it was activist judges legislating from the bench that crammed gay marriage down our throats ( why is it when mentioning gay marriage it’s always referred to as “crammed down our throats”?). So, despite the fact that polls show that the majority of Iowans don’t give a rat’s ass whether gays marry or not, neither candidate for Governor is pressing the issue, the Tea Baggers are supporting candidates that are demanding that we have a vote to amend our Constitution against gay marriage. So they are all for States Rights as long as it advances their hate agenda.
Tebaggers sent release to The Washington Post saying they don’t ALL hate the Gays. Washington Post dutifully transcribes Teabagger claims, without even bothering to use the Google machine.
And this is somehow unusual?
[re=616311]Troubledog[/re]: I see what you are trying to do there.
You know what I think teabagging really needs? A little more zazz.
[re=616290]Maus[/re]: Yes it’s true! Just ignore that the Family Research Council has its toes in the National Tea Party Federation (the one with the big name corporations) http://bit.ly/b7P2su
