President Obama’s tricky, midterm election strategy relies on luring back the first-time voters who supported him in 2008 plus re-engaging women, blacks, young voters and Hispanics.
In a video message emailed to more than 13 million supporters, Obama said Democrats need a 2008 repeat.
“It will be up to each of you to make sure that the young people, African-Americans, Latinos and women, who powered our victory in 2008, stand together once again,” Obama said. “It will be up to each of you to keep our nation moving forward.”
Conservatives said the move was racially divisive — asking rhetorically what would happen if a president called for unity among white voters to win an election.
Then he’d be a Real American, duh. He’s not interested in that. Can we move on to new questions, please?

If a Conservative publicly called for unity among White voters that would be what we call a “Fail”. If the same Conservative did that cryptically using language full of codes and nuanced innuendo we would call that “The Southern Strategy”, which apparently has also turned into a big “Fail”.
The Examiner thinks that “young people” excludes white males, because you only count as a white male if you go to church.

I only took the examiner when a really nice old guy used to give it out at my metro stop- when he stopped being the guy giving it out- I stopped taking it- plus i would always put it right into the recycle bin before I got on the train. They used to toss the examiner in my driveway- many of our neighbors asked the Examiner to stop tossing their trash onto our lawns(again and again). It took our state legislators to get them to stop.
