Hmm what’s a good, sane way to show opposition to a popularly elected government’s effort to make health insurance available to some people currently ineligible because they’ve lost their jobs or have a pre-existing medical condition? How about an armed state militia to fight the Feds! That’s the plan in Oklahoma, where Republican politicians and state legislators are plotting with teabagger militants to raise up a revolutionary army against, uh, health care reform.
Frustrated by recent political setbacks, tea party leaders and some conservative members of the Oklahoma Legislature say they would like to create a new volunteer militia to help defend against what they believe are improper federal infringements on state sovereignty.
Tea party movement leaders say they’ve discussed the idea with several supportive lawmakers and hope to get legislation next year to recognize a new volunteer force. They say the unit would not resemble militia groups that have been raided for allegedly plotting attacks on law enforcement officers.
Ho ho, good! Wouldn’t want to encourage any wingnut Oklahoma psychopaths to … uh, what do the Oklahoma militia nuts do? We forgot. Probably nobody remembers in Oklahoma too, because gosh, it’s hard to remember last week, let alone the 1990s.
“Have they heard of the Oklahoma City bombing?” said Joseph Thai, a constitutional law professor at the University of Oklahoma. The state observes the 15th anniversary of the anti-government attack on Monday. Such actions could “throw fuel in the fire of radicals,” he said.
Whatever, Professor Nanny State, go back to Thailand.
As of yet, the new Oklahoma Militia of fat fucking loser white trash has no plans to destroy Medicare, Social Security, military and government pensions, SSI disability checks or any of the other thousand federal government programs they rely upon to continue being alive so they can form Internet Militias against the federal government.
