Anyone Ever Notice How Injustice Always Somehow Benefits Twitter? Just Sayin’!

by Juli Weiner

  • All the aid that you donated yesterday via your Facebook status and also actual organizations that will send relief money is having a hard time reaching people buried under their own homes in Haiti. [New York Times]
  • Oh and speaking of: Haiti has been the “Iranian elections of natural disasters” for Twitter, which, almost in spite of itself, has again proven useful for the second (2nd) time in its history. [WSJ]
  • Obama’s new tax proposal will tax $90 billion out of our country’s biggest financial institutions. This will help small companies, is the idea. [Washington Post]
  • There is now a “credible threat” against the US coming from Yemen’s newly doomed al-Qaeda chapter. [CNN]
  • Meanwhile, the scout leader of al-Qaeda: Pakistan is not dead, despite all the missiles America fired at him yesterday that were supposed to have procured exactly that. [AP]
  • China will not ease up on its online censorship, despite threats from Google, the “China of the Internet,” to closetab on the country. [Times Online]

If Obama makes a deal with the banks, isn’t that like sleeping in the devil’s bed? And we all know what happened to other black folks who made a deal with satan.

Well, come on US America! Use that supposed ingenuity you guys brag about.

I see a minority of fat white cowards who want to drop iron and High Ex on the tinted folks for each and every cockbomb. I see the rest of people who want to help Haitians. I see a bunch of B-52s sitting on the line at Barksdale AFB. I see crates of dough from caring people. SYNERGY! Make everyone happy by bombing Haiti back to health by using B-52s to drop crates of dough! What could go possibly wrong with that?

the HAMP thing just saved my ass yesterday so i’m feeling generous.

I want to see the crooked banks pay. I also want a special “fuckhead” tax on whatever investment bankers came up with the brilliant plan of bundling piles of stinking hot dog shit bad loans into “Mortgage Backed Securities” which magically had no risk at all! A lot of crooked people made a lot of money selling crap like that, and they should pay. Normally, I’d say “the investors knew they were taking a risk”, but the wall streeters did everything they could to make sure nobody really knew that their secret sauce was nothing but dog crap and jizz (with a bit of spicy mustard for flavor!)

I don’t care if the money is ground up into a fine powder and injected into Amy Winehouse’s veins. Or rolled up into a suppository and shoved up David Caruso’s ass. I just want the Wall Streeters to be a little bit poorer. I’d actually prefer that they were living in a cardboard box, with a tatoo on their forehead that says “FRAUD”, but I’d settle for making them unable to afford a second Lear jet.

Sadly, I’ve been around this planet long enough to know that any discussion of taxing the bankers is going to morph into a capital gains tax cut, tax loopholes for Yacht owners, and a special tax for minimum wage workers. It’s what Jesus would have wanted. Just ask Pat Robertson.

State wants to help, Defense wants to help, Agriculture wants to help, the fucking Department of Not-Catching Cockbombers probably even wants to help. If only there were some way for these worthy gubbermint entities to coordinate their efforts!

To the extent there is not, this is Obama’s fault. Why won’t he help his fellow Negroes faster?

This meme is yours for the taking, Fox News. A polite thank-you note would be appropriate.

[re=494458]V572625694[/re]: Yeah, I’m just counting the hours before some right wing asshat starts the whole ‘Haiti is Obama’s Katrina’ meme.

[re=494461]Cape Clod[/re]: Seems obvious to me, as Kanye might say, “Obama doesn’t care about black people”. Wait, Rush says he only cares about black people, and he hates “white culture”. Oh, the stupid, it hurts!

bago January 14, 2010 at 9:54 am

[re=494461]Cape Clod[/re]: Howard Fineman did that last night.

Didn’t the Obama administration learn anything from Bush’s folks? When you think you’ve killed a high-ranking Al-Qaeda or Taliban member, no matter who or where, or whether he’s really dead, he must be “Al-Qaeda’s number three”. No exceptions.

[re=494455]Sparky McGruff[/re]: Amen. And I especially want Lloyd Blankfein’s balls forcibly separated from the rest of his body and hung from the top of a 95-foot-tall cottonwood tree. For starters.

[re=494461]Cape Clod[/re]: [re=494464]ManchuCandidate[/re]: “You’re doing a great job Brownie!”, might still fit.

JMP January 14, 2010 at 10:22 am

[re=494464]ManchuCandidate[/re]: Um, what’s the point there? He seems to present this as if there’s something wrong with Obama’s quick response, versus a slow response to an incident that didn’t warrant any comment from the President, but there isn’t anything wrong there.

[re=494479]bago[/re]: Someone should explain to these people that A) the President of the US can’t do as much to deal with a natural disaster in another country, and B) a hurricane is seen coming days ahead of time, giving people time to prepare; an earthquake strikes suddenly and surprisingly. The two situations don’t compare at all.

ManchuCandidate January 14, 2010 at 10:31 am

[re=494495]JMP[/re]:
Two things:

1) I think Faux is trying to do a reverse Kayne. “He only cares about black people!” Of course this is based on the assumption that only REAL US Americuns are white.
2) Hotair is actually a snark site.

Nice to hear that the war in Pakistan is still droning on. Bad da bump.

I was really worried that after that Jordanian Doctor guy blew up the WASPy liberal arts major CIA women at that secret base, we wouldn’t know what to shoot at any more.

SayItWithWookies January 14, 2010 at 11:12 am

[re=494508]ManchuCandidate[/re]: But really, in offering that factoid without comment, they miss the boat — Obama responded faster than Dubya in both parallel situations. Dubya took five days to respond to Katrina and six days to respond to the shoe bomber. The real point the wingnuts should be using is that Obama’s so fast that he’s probably already committing war crimes.

JMP January 14, 2010 at 11:22 am

[re=494508]ManchuCandidate[/re]: Really? Looking at the front page, that looked like the real wignut deal to me; these days they’re so extreme it’s hard to tell parody from the real deal.

He & Joe Klein get together every Tuesday to talk shop.

The Teabaggers and Faux News have won, forever, and this is the proof – they’ve got you libtards making up their memes for them. The shame.
