Steele cancel promotional events for the book he wrote as chairman.” They’re also seizing his profits — not a very capitalist move, but Michael Steele is from Africa so whatever.

There was no complaint at the time. Now Steele does something similar and the RNC members are livid. Of course this is a double standard. Let me make a big leap, but if you want to see Republicans exhibit this same double standard on a daily basis, just read sports commentary / listen to sports radio. In largely black professional sports, the columnists/talk show folks are still white (& conservative) and can’t stand a black person who causes on the field problems (“attitude problem”) versus a white player who demonstrates his toughness with the same antics or is in fact a “throwback” to when athletes roughed up their opponents. Conservatives are largely oblivious of this double standard. They won’t make any real progress with the minority vote until they divest themselves of it.
