Re: “Mao balls.” Chairman Mao said, “Ten thousand years from now, there will be a right, a left and a center.” Now that Mao has been demonized in China as well as the rest of the world, people forget that he had some good one-liners like this one, and therefore deserves some balls on the White House Xmas tree.

True story: From time to time I’m forced to feed at the public troth and will work for a Government contractor. Once I worked on an FAA contract. We had a test going on at an airport in another city which we visited often. Usually we took commercial flights but sometimes we hitched a ride on FAA plane. These planes were piloted by FAA desk jockeys that wanted to get enough flight time to keep their pilot’s licenses. On one flight as we returned to National Airport, the plane lined up on the wrong runway where a BA-727 was taking off. We swerved just in time to miss the other plane but we turned so hard that one wing almost brushed the ground. The plane had the words “FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION” on the side and I always wondered if anyone inside the airport noticed us and if it made them feel any safer.
