Haw haw.The mean old plain-clothes cop who nearly massacred all DC Twitter-snowball people is in BIG TROUBLE for this shit, specifically for pulling a fucking LOADED GUN on some nerds throwing snowballs during a blizzard. “Assistant Police Chief Peter Newsham told reporters Monday that the detective has been placed on desk duty and his badge and weapon have been withdrawn.” The detective in question is a big dumb pussy who drives around in a Hummer. But Twitter users and ironic snowball “flash mobs” are still the lamest thing ever, so the plainclothes cop probably had “probable cause” to shoot maybe six of them, in the nuts. [Associated Press]

Just because they’re retards doesn’t mean that you can kill them. In Obama’s America, we have Socialist Death Panels for that.

FMA December 21, 2009 at 2:49 pm

Never bring a gun to a snowball fight. Or should that be: Never bring a snowball to a gun fight.
Something like that…

shortsshortsshorts December 21, 2009 at 2:51 pm

YOU NO R CUNTRY ES GOING 2 HELL WIN TEH COPS NO LONGER SHOOTE ANY1 THEY PLEEZ.

drpangloss December 21, 2009 at 2:52 pm

The complete vid of this hopped up on YouTube pretty quick and it has a “reason.tv” tag, which is interesting. Is it reasonable to throw a snowball at a man you know to be armed? It being DC and all, is it very smart to hit a random Hummer, I mean doesn’t that vehicle scream heavily armed douchenozzel with an inferiority complex?

ManchuCandidate December 21, 2009 at 2:52 pm

If a cop in a Hummer who likes waving his gun around can’t calmly deal with a bunch of nerds having a snowball fight then I hate to break it to the cop, but the cold isn’t the reason why your dick is so small.

Snarkalicious December 21, 2009 at 2:53 pm

I liked it especially on HLN (in the lunchroom it’s that for Fox News, and fits of rage are not condusive to assistant administration) when they were showing footage of this fuckstick with gun in hand, while the scroller at the bottom of the screen said the DCPD was investigating whether or not he actually drew his weapon.

This is post 9/11 America people. If you don’t worship cops then baby bald eagles choke to death on worms. Why do you all hate bald eagles?

SayItWithWookies December 21, 2009 at 2:56 pm

No, the lamest thing ever is that the person who made my sandwich at the damn deli can’t tell the difference between mayonnaise and that disgusting artificial sour cream. Ech.

NJB December 21, 2009 at 2:56 pm

Now, if the detective lived in Maricopa County, he’d get a medal from the Sherrif. Location is all.

Native of SL UT December 21, 2009 at 3:00 pm

I thought that pulling a gun out over a snowball fight was a pretty dumb thing to do, but if this was snowball fight started by Twitters, then it was entirely reasonable although a decent water cannon would have been much, much better.

JMP December 21, 2009 at 3:01 pm

Hasn’t the Washington PD learned anything from the NYPD; he could have shot ten of the snowballers (hee) forty-one times each and they would defend it as justified because, hey, a cops’ work is hard and anyone who doesn’t immediately respect their authority deserves whatever they get anyway.

Suds McKenzie December 21, 2009 at 3:02 pm

There wasn’t an app for that?

Gun-toting Progressive December 21, 2009 at 3:02 pm

[re=483042]NJB[/re]: There are a surprising dearth of snowball fights in Phoenix, so Sheriff Joe doesn’t have to sweat that one…

Gun??? Snowball fight??? Really???

memzilla December 21, 2009 at 3:08 pm

Well, you call it drawing a weapon, I call it an entrance exam for the WMATA Police. See you on the Red Line, Officer Snowball!

[re=483031]FMA[/re]: A corralary(sp?) might be, if your snowball fight becomes a gunfight, and you don’t have a gun, leave the area.

[re=483046]JMP[/re]: Good thing snowballs don’t look like wallets, or it would’ve been a bloodbath.

[re=483044]Native of SL UT[/re]: Tasers would have had a entirely satisfactory effect. Plus a way cooler Youtube item.

Twitter-using snowball flash-mob members have nuts?

reuters December 21, 2009 at 3:19 pm

BBC initially reported the crowd chanting “Don’t freak out at a snowball fight”. I want my license fee back…

Native of SL UT December 21, 2009 at 3:21 pm

[re=483063]binarian[/re]: OH come on, there can be nothing better than a water cannon in sub zero weather. A taser on a group of twatters in a hot tub would be great though.

binarian December 21, 2009 at 3:27 pm

[re=483070]Native of SL UT[/re]: hmmmmm…..maybe some combination of the two? A blast of the water cannon followed by tasering…

Neilist December 21, 2009 at 3:28 pm

The cop’s “weapon had been withdrawn”?

Gesh, in the Made-For-TV movie that is sure to follow, the disarmed detective will return to his lonely, darkened apartment, after consuming about five cases of booze in his favorit bar.

On walking in the door, the detective will be confronted by “Mr. Snowball,” the Infamous Evil Yuppie Drug Dealing Overlord who controls the “better” (i.e., “Whiter”) sections of Our Nation’s Capital (or it is “Capitol”?).

Alone and UNARMED, the heroic detective engages in a battle to the death. He’s just about to be killed, but suddenly remembers his Bic lighter and spots that aerosol can of spray-on Christmas flocking/fake snow his girlfriend has been using on the detective’s miserable little tree.

Snatching up both, he creates an impromptu flame-thrower that incinerates/melts the villain. Tossing aside the now empty can, and gazing down at the smoldering, sodden remains, our hero says, “Snowball THAT, You Merry Christmas MOTHERFOOKER.”

[I forgot to mention that, in the backstory, the detective was a member of the Dail Eireann.]

PlanetWingnuta December 21, 2009 at 3:30 pm

That cop soooooooooooo isn’t gonna be invited to come over for a beer with those snowballers at the white house.

Humpback December 21, 2009 at 3:30 pm

The crowd should have called him a “Lobsterback”, because that’s all historic and all. Then he could shoot six of them and get John Adams to defend him. The punishment, fittingly, would be forced amputation of his trigger finger.

Neilist December 21, 2009 at 3:43 pm

[re=483091]Humpback[/re]: Branded on the thumb, you mean. The two Redcoats who were convicted of manslaughter (under the Beneath of Clergy Rule, because they could read the Bible) were branded on the thumb.

[Yes, yes, I know. Pedantic Asshole. Never mind.]

Mr Blifil December 21, 2009 at 3:46 pm

I guess snowballs must be racist.

Reality check: The moron idiot douchebags slobbering over their cutesy little electronic devices are just at fault here: You do not throw snowballs, or anything at a car–moving or stationary. You also do not argue with a police officer when he tells you to move your sorry little stupid asses and go home, where you should be. This storm was a dangerous situation, a transportation hazard, a roads hazard, and a public safety hazard—pedestrians trying to have fun or NOT–and when an idiot throws a snowball at a moving car, and then stands there like a doofus and does not move and go home, well, you know what? They’re just at fault here as the cop. Everyone loses here, and in the future: Do not go out and have massive snowball fights in a urban area of a densely-packed city already on edge in the middle of a huge snowstorm, do not throw snowballs or anything at cars, and do not argue with cops and do what the cop says.

Really–cabin fever is real.

BlueStateLibtard December 21, 2009 at 3:52 pm

Desk Duty = warm cozy office out of the cold and snow!

snideinplainsight December 21, 2009 at 4:14 pm

When shooting snowballers with a gun becomes illegal, then only –

Oh. Never mind.

x111e7thst December 21, 2009 at 4:14 pm

[re=483118]thefrontpage[/re]: Thank you for clearing this up for me. I am never again to argue with badge and gun bedecked idiots just because I am right and they are wrong. Got it.
And here I was thinking that one of the nice things about being white and upper middle class was that I did not have to put up with as much shit from asshole cops as poor black and brown people do. Silly me.

Mr. Tusks December 21, 2009 at 4:21 pm

[re=483118]thefrontpage[/re]: You don’t throw snowballs at cops. Check. My bad. However, this also shows how most cops are just former high school bullies who aren’t qualified to do anything but push people around professionally. As a police officer, you don’t draw your weapon unless you intend to use it; therefore, either (a) he knowingly broke this rule, or (b) he actually DID intend to use it. Either way, he was dangerous to the people and he was dealt with accordingly.

gurukalehuru December 21, 2009 at 4:28 pm

So, the guys been a detective for 25 years and has an excellent reputation, but he doesn’t have a fucking first name? I know I can be petty, downright anal retentive at times, but that shit bothers me. Its like everybody accepting Larry Silverstein’s bullshit explanation of what he really meant when he said “we were going to pull it anyway” even though it was perfectly clear what he meant the 1st time he said it. Well, maybe not exactly like that.
Oh, and[re=483118]thefrontpage[/re]: Densely-packed city already on the edge? It was a fucking snowball fight, which is absolutely the appropriate thing to do in a snowstorm. That and snow men and snow angels. Traffic was probably moving about 5 miles an hour, or should have been, and a Humvee is not made out of paper. The cop was a dick. No excuses. No false equivalency.

Mr. Tusks December 21, 2009 at 4:30 pm

Now, what the people did was indeed illegal, and anyone who hit him could and should have been arrested for assaulting a police officer. But in a situation like this the cop needs to keep his cool and let a harmless act go, because to do what he did was actually more dangerous. If he starts pointing his gun at people for throwing a snowball he not only risks excessive force, but the inducement of a riot in response such excessive force, possibly resulting in even more harm. The correct thing to do, if you insist that he do anything, is call for backup and disperse the public nuisance peacefully and only make arrests if absolutely necessary.

El Pinche December 21, 2009 at 4:58 pm

What type of shit is that? I’m always on “desk duty!” So what, who cares!

Mr. Tusks December 21, 2009 at 5:00 pm

[re=483138]x111e7thst[/re]: Sadly, he’s correct that cops are always “right.” If you try to convince them on the street that they are wrong you’ll just end up with more trouble. The best thing to do is resolve it at the conference table at the station, and with your lawyer. If you want to avoid that, just do what the cop says.

Still, pulling you weapon in response to a snowball is wrong, if not unconstitutional.

kewlguy42069 December 21, 2009 at 5:51 pm

White people

OrangeAlert December 21, 2009 at 6:27 pm

There were some war “protesters” as well…not many people are aware that Kent State started as a snowball fight.

As for the Shaft-ish cop, he should lose his badge for driving a Hummer in D.C.

OrangeAlert December 21, 2009 at 6:29 pm

I’m also wondering when Obama will invite the cop and a snowball to the White House for a beer.

desertwind December 21, 2009 at 7:44 pm

They’ll be Twittering a Beer Summit in no time.

Guppy06 December 21, 2009 at 11:36 pm

[re=483138]x111e7thst[/re]: So… there’s a right to throw snowballs at moving vehicles? Is that buried in the Fourteenth Amendment somewhere?

thesheriffisnear December 22, 2009 at 6:17 am

Its funny wheb Don Knotts does it.

thesheriffisnear December 22, 2009 at 6:17 am

When, WHEN, WHEN!!!

Paul Tardy December 22, 2009 at 6:56 am
