POOR SCUZZLEBUTT

  • SCUZZLEBUTT QUITS NY-23 RACE! The communist liberal abortion-loving ACORN Stalinist (”moderate conservative”) Republican candidate in the NY-23 special congressional election, Scuzzlebutt, has dropped out only a few days before the election. She was sick of getting yelled at by wingnuts. More likely, though, is that the RNC applied severe pressure on her (”Just get your quit on, baby”) so it could claim a Conservative Party victory as its own. The possibilities for bipartisanship in Congress have never been better. [AP]

So if the Conservative Party wins do we get national commercial the next day like this:

It’s morning again in America. Sure people are still out of work but now people with jobs are free to look down on the unemployed as the worthless rejects of God they really are. Sure banks are tanking at a record rate but now people with money are free to regard themselves as the chosen ones of God they really are. This afternoon men will marry virgin women and even before they go on their honeymoon the groom will excuse himself for a few minutes to enjoy beating up a gay guy who helped deliver the cake. It’s morning again in America and under the leadership of real conservatives our country is prouder and stronger and better. Why would we ever want to return to those days when the black guy in the White House thought he had a snowball’s chance in hell of getting re-elected?

Here is what I don’t understand. FOX News is saying this means a victory for the Conservative. But if you were going to vote for the pro-gayez, pro-killing babies commie, why would you switch over to the Facist/Beckian idiot who doesn’t even know the local issues: http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/10/conservative-partys-hoffman-unable-to-answer-questions-on-local-issues-in-ny-23.php

  14. RNC, you need to keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. Chances are she’s flying out to Communist Russo China right now to rise to power there. She’ll go on world conquest, to give all the children healthcare so that they will all grow up to be raving socialists who insist that the government should make sure people have enough food to eat and enough medical care to survive.

  15. BobLoblawLawBlog says at 10:02 pm, October 31st, 2009

The best part is that, now that they don’t have poor ol’ Scuzzlebutt to kick around anymore, they have to actually start backing their horribly flawed candidate.

Hoffman doesn’t even live in the district. When he appeared before the editorial board of The Watertown Daily Times 10 days ago, he “showed no grasp” of local issues, as the subsequent editorial put it.

  16. badmuthagoose says at 10:19 pm, October 31st, 2009

  17. WadISay: What, are they hiking the Kyber Pass?

Well, it’s indicative of the current state of the Republican party that they picked ol’ Skuzz, then unpicked her in favor of the independent who appealed to their mouth breathing base. The grown ups have all gone independent apparently and the inmates are running the asylum…

Frank Rich has a great column about the NY 23rd race:
    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/01/opinion/01rich.html?em
Who exactly is the third-party maverick arousing such ardor? Hoffman doesn’t even live in the district. When he appeared before the editorial board of The Watertown Daily Times 10 days ago, he showed no grasp of local issues, as the subsequent editorial put it. Hoffman complained that he should have received the questions in advance blissfully unaware that they had been asked by the paper in an editorial on the morning of his visit. Last week it turned out that Hoffman’s prime attribute to the radical right as a take-no-prisoners fiscal conservative was bogus. In fact he’s on the finance committee of a hospital that happily helped itself to a $479,000 federal earmark

And so Ross Douthat has an equally shitty one:
    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/01/opinion/01rich.html?em
Hoffmann has irritated liberals. Scozzafava was their kind of Republican, and by derailing her candidacy — which she suspended over the weekend after polls showed her slipping to third place — he’s turned a sleepy contest between two left-of-center politicians into an ideologically-charged election.

Or, as Rich refers to the Republican candidate:
And Scozzafava is a mainstream conservative by New York standards; one statistical measure found her voting record slightly to the right of her fellow Republicans in the Assembly. But she has occasionally strayed from orthodoxy on social issues (abortion, same-sex marriage) and endorsed the Obama stimulus package. To the right’s Jacobins, that’s cause to send her to the guillotine.

Hoffman had raised only $12,000 in donations within NY-23. Bill Owens, has raised $150,000. Which argues that at least those locals with money to give to political candidates are more enthusiastic about Owens.
    Scuzzlebutt raised about $36K locally.

  79. NEW YORK — Maude Wingnut today announced her write-in campaign for Congress in New York’s 23rd District. Mrs. Wingnut said she is running as a “real, true Republican” and “a white hope conservative’s conservative.” She described her Republican opponent as a wimpy, gay-looking ultraliberal-leaning conservative who has never so much as thrown a shoe at any African-American. “I’m declaring open season on those fake conservatives like Dustin Hoffman,” she said, with a shotgun on her shoulder. Sarah Palin immediately switched her endorsement to Mrs. Wingnut. Michael Steele said Mrs. Wingnut shows the party is strong and diverse.
