It Cannot Be Overstated How Excited Republicans Are That Bad Things Have Happened For America Today

by Jim Newell  2:25 pm October 2, 2009

Things are getting so out-of-hand that the forecasters at “Team Romney” are having to step in and act like adults: “There are cooler heads: Former Mitt Romney spokesman Kevin Madden passed along some entirely unheeded advice from another Republican strategist, Scott Stanzel: ‘Note to GOP officials/consultants – resist temptation to pile on about Chicago losing just becuz Obama made the pitch.’”

Mitt Romney, of course, was the only major Republican to not go apeshit over the president taking a one-day trip to Copenhagen to try and win his country a major economic boon. Things never look good when Mittens, who believes in absolutely nothing and shifts between comical lies on an hour-to-hour basis, has to step in as the Cooler Head.

Insert obligatory “Good news for John McCain” quip here——>

mephistopheles jefferson October 2, 2009 at 2:30 pm

Of course, watch their teeth-gnashing outrage when Mobile, Alabama gets slighted by the Pig-Fucking Olympics Committee in favor of Podgorica, Montenegro.

hobospacejunkie October 2, 2009 at 2:31 pm

Mittens is the cooler head only because he has the head of a robot and his body is filled with robot juice.

emmasue October 2, 2009 at 2:33 pm

since Mittens was president and prophet of the salt lake city olympics, he has the authority to hate hate olympics now for other mercan cities.

Texan Bulldoggette October 2, 2009 at 2:35 pm

Maybe Mittens was just thinking it would have been nice for him to have a job in 2016 since he doesn’t seem to have one now.

proudgrampa October 2, 2009 at 2:36 pm

[re=425794]hobospacejunkie[/re]: “Robot juice”??? LOL.

Scottie October 2, 2009 at 2:36 pm

Imagine the Republican glee when the food riots start in 2010!

Etcetera!

Humpback October 2, 2009 at 2:38 pm

Only Mitt knows the horrible, horrible corrupting power of international Olympic competition. Thank goodness we dodged that bullet.

rev_matt_y October 2, 2009 at 2:38 pm

Ron Paul stayed flat.

In related news, GOP chairman Michael Steele expressed cautious optimism that the H1N1 virus would cause widespread death among Americans. “We are confident that by blaming the epidemic on Obama, we can pick up some contested seats in Pigrot and Cow Hollow in West Virginia, where the nearest school is a three-day journey by mule,” Steele said. The chairman said the epidemic was one of several bright spots on the horizon for the GOP, including additional cities destroyed by hurricanes, poor people dying in the winter cold and the expected indenture of ever American to the insurance companies at birth. “Of course, we’re still optimistic about a new war, maybe with Iran,” he smiled.

shortsshortsshorts October 2, 2009 at 2:41 pm

It continues to show that the GOP is begging for another 9/11. Clearly they have your best interests in mind.

Come here a minute October 2, 2009 at 2:42 pm

Even Romney could not get away with the hypocrisy of opposing Chicago’s bid after being the head of the Salt Lake organizing committee.

magic titty October 2, 2009 at 2:43 pm

Mittens is totes gay for NObama.

user-of-owls October 2, 2009 at 2:45 pm

You dizzy children do realize which American city is next in line for 2020, right? If not, look it up, because if I told you, you would think I was making it up.

Suds McKenzie October 2, 2009 at 2:45 pm

I will wait for SkoalRebel to weigh in on the issue before issuing a statement.

Varchar October 2, 2009 at 2:45 pm

At least America is still #1 in getting voted off of stuff.

What does TPAW think about this? I have to know before I decide how I feel.

whatever_dc October 2, 2009 at 2:46 pm

i was listening to limbaugh this afternoon (yes — i do listen to the drug-addled head of the republican party for some unknown reason…) and he was positively cumming all over hisself with glee that obama had failed to convince the IOC etc etc. i actually had to stop listening. sean insanity starts in a few — think i’ll take a peak at his orgasms.

The comments are just great:

If the Mayan calender prediction is true, then we should not care about the 2012 Olympics. However, we should care that millions of Americans will starve and continue to lose jobs from Obama’s reckless and oppresive form of government. He is even willing to go to the great lengths to punish Texas through the oil and petrochemical industry. I guess he is not worried as he is on Playcation AGAIN using the American taxdollars as his own personal piggybank..if anyone knows pork..he and his regime do.. And I used to like Chicago so much..would not go there now even if I got paid to do it…

the socialist nazi Mayans are behind it!

[re=425830]user-of-owls[/re]: Wow. Birmingham, Alabama? I did not know that before my Mobile dig. Truth is indeed stranger than fiction, if only because it actually happens.

[re=425843]qwerty42[/re]: Has anyone read anything where one of these fringy wingtards articulates exactly how Obama is oppressing them? They use that word a lot. I do not think it means what they think it means. Unless somehow all their friends & family have been secretly shipped off to work in abortion mills or factories manufacturing robot juicers. You’d think FOX would’ve told us about it if that had happened.

haven’t you heard that they want their country back? somehow they misplaced it and now “ultra liberals” and “socialists” and the legion of doom are running things and they feel just awful because they were supposed to have a 1000 year reich or something like that and it just isn’t fair.

But no, I don’t think they have articulated how the cruel knout of Obama’s oppression is working. maybe there will be a ban on flavored snuff? having health care might be another kind of oppression to be put on them. Being nitwits, they have some difficulty actually making sense. not that it stops them (why would it?).

Thanks. Thanks, GOP, for making us laugh at…well, you…once again.

At least we are all up front about it now, right?

[re=425862]hobospacejunkie[/re]: I believe uber wonkian Prommie has summed it up best:
Fucktards have developed a “cargo cult” which mimics intellectual activity. After WWII ended, the natives of New Guinea and other islands in melanesia, who had seen the ships and planes filled with cargo come to their islands during the war, tried to lure them back by building “control towers” out of palm fronds, and wearing coconut shell “headsets” and trying to radio the planes on carved wooden radios, and in one famous instance, they even built airplanes out of twigs and palm fronds, I suppose in the beleif this would attract other airplanes the way decoys attract ducks.

The fucktards are doing the same thing. They have been exposed to western civilization, but they don’t understand it, and despise and fear it. But they want the things it brings, so they have developed a “cargo cult” culture, in which they make idiots their civil and intellectual leaders, they create “universities” dedicated to the rejection of knowledge and learning, they read “books” which are filled with nonsense. Being primitives, theyt really don’t understand why their “books” and “science” and “universities” and “conservative intellectuals” really aren’t the same as real books, real science, and real universtities and intellectuals.

Wiki: “A cargo cult is a type of religious practice that may appear in traditional tribal societies in the wake of interaction with technologically advanced, non-native cultures. The cults are focused on obtaining the material wealth of the advanced culture through magical thinking, religious rituals and practices, believing that the wealth was intended for them by their deities and ancestors.”

Note that the fucktards believe that the legacy of their ancestors (the values of the founding fathers) have indeed been stolen from them, by this alien thing, western civilization, not realizing that the founding fathers were in fact members of western civilization.

The only difference is that the fucktards are not members of a primitive tribe that has never known civilization. No, they are descendants of civilized people who have gone through degeneracy, their local “culture” reverted to primitivism at some point. They are still aware of “civilization,” but to their perspective, it is civilization that has declined, that is an alien, evil thing, and that only they are the true heirs to the ideals of real “civilization.”

Once the Mexican Swine H1N1 Pig Flu begins sweeping the U.S. and babies, little childrenz and pregnant mommies start dropping like ripe fruit, the Repugs will be goosing each and squealing like school girls at a Jonas Brothers concert.

That Declaration of Independence thingee, is it revocable?

AnnieGetYourFun October 2, 2009 at 4:22 pm

It’s kind of weird… I mean, look, I really disliked Bush. A lot. Like, a whole fucking lot. But.. I mean, it’s not like he ever put any EFFORT into anything, but if he HAD, I don’t think I would have been rooting against him. I mean, I hated the idea of the Iraq War, but it doesn’t mean that I want to see our military slowly picked off by IEDs. Of course, that’s what’s happening, but I find no glee in knowing that Bush made a terrible, terrible error.

Sorry, was that too… human?

WadISay October 2, 2009 at 4:30 pm

I will allow that Mark Sanford could be happy with this news, as it would give him another excuse for a trip to South America.

[re=425853]mephistopheles jefferson[/re]: Bad news for the “Whites Only” restrooms, if Birmingham gets it.

[re=425975]AnnieGetYourFun[/re]: For shame — why do you love America more than you love the Republican Party?
Seriously, when IdjitBoy invaded Iraq, I figured I’d just have to shut up and bear with it for about 100 days until the troops came home and we had the parade — because, really, not even Dubya should’ve been able to fuck that up. But at no point in the eight hellish years of his administration did I wish for harm to befall the country so that the Democrats would look better (or even come up with that equation, really). Of course, every Republican accused every liberal of exactly those intentions. Turns out they were just projecting.

zhubajie October 2, 2009 at 5:45 pm

If Romney thinks the Religious Right Party is going to make a Mormon president, he is even dumber than he looks.

Matt Osborne October 2, 2009 at 5:55 pm

Hitler got the Olympics in Berlin, but Obama failed to bring the Olympics to Chicago. Does that mean he is no longer Hitler?

[re=425838]whatever_dc[/re]: You may want to rethink viewing the video capture of Limbaugh reacting to the news of Chicago’s elimination. I’m having trouble keeping my pizza down right now because I did sneak a peak: I don’t remember any audio because the video was so unspeakably obscene that my hearing kinda just shut down– Rush started humping & bucking & fist-pumping, basically he went into throes of a truly orgasmic thrall, all sweaty and gyrating.
Ugh, have you ever shuddered and wretched simultaneously?

[re=425852]RacerMex[/re]: “Detroit or Birmingham? Both need indoor plumbing and electricity.”

Don’t know if you remember, but one of these cities was the arsenal of democracy and one of the most developed cities in the world, and, well, one of them wasn’t. Even in its incredibly shitty state, today, Detroit is still is more developed infrastructurally than but a few other major cities in the country. Sorry, no snark. Detroit’s been getting dumped on enough, lately.

BTW, doesn’t anyone find it sad that Mittens had to put out this statement to begin with? I mean, really; Mittens just had to tell his ‘patriotic REAL Americans’ not to be unpatriotic and Un-American.

ladymacbeth October 3, 2009 at 3:25 pm

i repeat: no one in that fucking city wanted the fucking olympics except fucking daleys and oprah and that one person i met on a plane who lived in rolling meadows. rush and NRO and drudgematch can blow me.

[re=425937]Pithaughn[/re]: yes, you got it right. would just emphasize that their downfall was caused by too much religiosity. the founding father were not religious fools, but these Reptards believe that Adam & Eve rode to Church on the back of a dinosaur.
