It sucks that NYC has such a low crime rate. We are thereby deprived of federal stimulation and also overrun by yuppies who drive up real estate values and contribute to the proliferation of bistros where street drugs could once be readily purchased.

WadISay July 29, 2009 at 9:16 am

Uighur, please…

Kingbee July 29, 2009 at 9:17 am

Daniel Patrick Boyd — His neighbors could easily imagine him to just be another red-blooded American Christian domestic terrorist murdering abortion doctors, so what’s the problem?

InsidiousTuna July 29, 2009 at 9:18 am

How many police officers will Cambridge be getting?

slavojzizek July 29, 2009 at 9:21 am

Easy confirmation? Maybe? But wait until we demand to see her birth certificate! Then we’ll see if Barack Noboma can really appoint a ‘Puerto Rican’ to the US Supreme Court.

Monsieur Grumpe July 29, 2009 at 9:28 am

Libelous tweet? I hope this goes to the Supreme Court so I can hear Thomas say twat.

Terry July 29, 2009 at 9:37 am

Newark and Camden are left out of the policing money? Bummer. DC, Baltimore, and PG County, MD received about the highest amounts. I’m happy as a clam.

SmutBoffin July 29, 2009 at 9:40 am

Yay! A Register link!

I’m surprised we don’t see them more often given, given the Register’s penchant for writing stories about kerfuffles involving todgers. But then, they also have a lotta stories about new hard drives in development, which is kinda boring.

ManchuCandidate July 29, 2009 at 9:42 am

Gee, a white TERRORIST? Shocking.

MARCdMan July 29, 2009 at 9:42 am

I feel bad for the Uighurs but we all know the Chinese need SOMEBODY new to cornhole with cattle prods since they’ve run out of Tibetan monks.

dedalus July 29, 2009 at 9:43 am

Must we continue to refer to gay women and men as “cruising?”
Is that word ever applied to heteros?

I would like for this to be a teachable moment in the Wonkett community.

A republican anal-ist on a local station said the Kyle and Cornyn votes against Sotomayor would not hurt them because New Mexico and Texas have ‘Mexican Hispanics not Puerto Rican Hispanics’ and the ‘Mexican Hispanics’ don’t agree that Puerto Ricans are ‘Hispanics or Latinos’.

Will this party even survive until 2010?

Formerly Preferred July 29, 2009 at 9:47 am

Wait, Sotomayor is cruising the Senate for confirmation? You’d think she’d get more GOP votes.

Nice job with the racial profiling of those poor Uighurs… What, you just hear the word Uighur and then ASSUME “Bermuda”???

Mahousu July 29, 2009 at 9:57 am

Newark and Camden didn’t need any stimulus money, since New Jersey runs strictly on a graft-based economy. That’s almost entirely recession-proof.

glamourdammerung July 29, 2009 at 10:01 am

[re=373249]ManchuCandidate[/re]: I am more shocked that a white terrorist mananged to get in the press given the trend towards the media ignoring such issues. I am sure that the fact they were not Christian extremists helped.

tootsieroll July 29, 2009 at 10:06 am

What’s really sad about the terrorism article is that his neighbors respected this man for his devotion to his faith, instead of being ignorant bigots and automatically assuming he was a terrorist because he was Muslim. And he totally fucked them over. Now they’ll turn to Teabagging.

Mr. Boyd, the central figure in the indictment, is also charged with lying to federal agents in 2007 about his reasons for a trip to Israel. According to the indictment, he and several other defendants had intended to join violent jihadists in the Palestinian territories, though the trip was ultimately unsuccessful.

That must have gone real well.

“Hey, Hassan, there are a bunch of white guys from America who want to sign up. What should we do?”

“Sure, nothing could go wrong with that.”

You must be confusing him with another Justice. He’s the one who has never asked a question. When your mind is made up before the appeal is just a twinkle in a trial attorney’s eye, you “no don’t need no stinkin’ questions.”

Roberts and Alito at least pretend for a few minutes and Scalia likes baiting whatever side isn’t a corporation, guns, or civil rights under any guise. Fucking Thomas is such a bitter, he just sits there and hates, silently. Maybe he’ll choke on his own bile while Hopey is president. And please, pray for Scalia to g hunting with Cheney again.

We like our crazies in all flavors in North Carolina. I’ve never met a heavily armed religious zealot who wasn’t a fine upstanding citizen in his community. Rather than lock him up, we should be memorializing his brave and honorable fight against the communists. If I didn’t despise parody song posts with a hatred that reaches the very core of my soul, I might write a song right now.

lionboy July 29, 2009 at 10:40 am

“We’re a sue first, ask questions later kind of an organization,” Jeffery Michael, whose family runs Horizon, told the Chicago Sun-Times, noting the company never asked Bonnen to take the post down.

That explains why they’re a company with “good name, fame, and reputation and was deservedly held in high esteem by both renters of the Windy City and the general public alike. Don’t say shit about Horizon or they’ll sue your ass like nobody’s business. Geez, wouldn’t it be cheaper for them to just put hits out on anyone who dicks with their name, fame and reputation.

“We got too many Rebiya Kadeers. It’s the northwesterners. They get on TV and go ‘Uigh-errrr, Uigh-errrr.’ People hear them and say, ‘These people, they’re northwesterners. The party’s being taken over by northwesterners. What the hell they got to do with Ohio?’”

[re=373273]DustBowlBlues[/re]: I was alway under the impression that Thomas just finds out which way Scalia is going to vote and follows suit. This frees him of intellectual challenges and lets him devote more time to his primary occupations; axe grinding and watching porn.

DustBowlBlues July 29, 2009 at 11:08 am

[re=373304]Cape Clod[/re]: Oklahoma, home of all things white and Christian, had a county court judge who was removed from the bench (icky graphic, given what’s coming–yuck, another ick, given what follows) because he was a using a vibrator for wanking during hearings. And he was on a judge for a long time.

Mechanical devices makes noise. Clarence probably just uses his hand under his robes when court’s in session.

[re=373304]Cape Clod[/re]: Actually – no joke – Thomas regularly votes the opposite way from Scalia on pornography issues. Porn is the one civil right Thomas favors. Well, porn and guns.
