Then FactCheck.org did a story about it, actually visiting Hawaii, examining the document and taking pictures of it. Now it’s still possible that the state of Hawaii is in on the conspiracy, but the birthers have yet to explain how that would have happened. Anyway, the factcheck.org story is linked here and worth reading if you’re curious.
Considering the crap that Jerome Corsi has presented vs. the stuff the Obama campaign showed at the time, the Birfers’ standard of evidence is negligible for one side and of unknown height on the other side. Corsi hasn’t presented a single thing fairly or backed up any of his statements. Thus the Birfer movement is a completely faith-based one, ignoring evidence it doesn’t like and believing the flimsiest lies that support their prejudices.
And if you think that’s hyperbole, I spent about a week on Joe the Plumber’s half-assed website trying to see if anyone would be persuaded by facts or say why they weren’t. No go. They refuse to yield to facts, even though there are no facts supporting their claims.
Some controversies don’t go away because the evidence is sketchy. Some don’t go away because their uncomprehending twitbag minions don’t shut up. Guess which one this is.
