COMMENT OF THE DAY

Every afternoon is WON by Sarah Palin, in her mind.WIN OF THE AFTERNOON: In the middle of this monster Palin Chaos Theory post, commenter-person Alaska Girl reminds us why Sarah Palin’s latest “I’m gonna take my ball and go home” move is standard Wasilla Snowbilly behavior: “She didn’t finish her term as mayor, stepping down to run for Lt. Governor. She didn’t finish her term on the petroleum board ethics panel, she resigned in protest and then ran for Governor. She doesn’t want the office, she just likes running for office. She doesn’t want (can’t actually) accomplish anything, she just wants to talk about it.”

    “She’s a big teaser.
She took me half the way there.
    She was a Daaaaaaay Tripper.
    One way ticket, yeah.
    It took me sooooooo long.
    To find out.
    But I found out.”

Congrats on your recognition, Alaska Girl. Please accept my gift of flowers or cunnilingus.

  4. SayItWithWookies says at 3:13 pm, July 4th, 2009

Damn. If she had promised she would only be VP for a year and a half, more people might have voted for John McCain.

  5. smellyal8r says at 3:14 pm, July 4th, 2009

SayItWithWookies: Not “comment of the afternoon” worthy, but certainly a WIN!

There is, apparently, no corner of the known universe so remote but that some Wonketeer calls it home.

    Spidoosh, Alaska girl.

  7. get real says at 3:43 pm, July 4th, 2009

Quitter Palin also bagged out on four different colleges. also. too.

  8. Hooray For Anything says at 3:46 pm, July 4th, 2009

Well, it’s true that she has a habit of quitting her jobs but it’s only because she’s not a quitter.

  9. hobospacejunkie says at 3:51 pm, July 4th, 2009

Congratulations Alaska Girl on your fully deserved recognition. However that was yesterday and today, well, what have done for me?

Also, your award-winning comment emphasizes how appropriate Runners World may have been to her decision, just as random objects or places were instrumental in naming her childrens.

That’s not going to look good on her resume.

sin dudo, mi buen mujer, you hit that nail smack on its vapid head. tambien.

AGREE! I love that comment. I paraphrased her when I bitch-slapped my winger dad this morning. He said nothing and continued to eat his breakfast taco.

SayItWithWookies: HA! Win within a win post!

El Pinche: Yes, I am 11 yrs old.

Stop it, people. She’s not a quitter. She’s a freedom fighter. And she’s all about doing what’s best for her beloved Alaska. From the outside. ‘Cuz, as the CEO of the 49th State, I mean really, what the fuck has she accomplished? FREEDOOOOOOOM!!

  15. Freelance Minion says at 4:18 pm, July 4th, 2009

THis has not cost her points with the red meat crowd. Check out Red State and other right wing blogs or comments on other news sites. THey are still cheering for her, sure that it is because of the evil left-wing media and sure this means she will run for Pres in 2012.

  16. wallythepug says at 4:20 pm, July 4th, 2009

Apparently the only activity she’s seen through to the end is popping out little Palins.

get real: Yep. Took her (from what I can tell on WP) five years and about nine semesters to get a bachelor’s. Nothing wrong with that, per se, but she probably could’ve been out in four if she hadn’t kept transferring all the damn time.

  19. finallyhappy says at 5:12 pm, July 4th, 2009

Freelance Minion: One comment on the blog of a local politician was “at least she doesn’t use a teleprompter like Obama”. That certainly changes my mind about Princess Sarah.

  20. Scooter says at 5:27 pm, July 4th, 2009

Palin just likes the process but doesn’t care about the product? Well antlers on a moose, next you’ll be asserting that she likes the process of creating babies but doesn’t care much about what happens to them after that. You people are so mean, I hope you wreck your snow machines!

  21. SayItWithWookies says at 5:52 pm, July 4th, 2009

finallyhappy: One of the right-wing talk radio substitutes yesterday was extolling her teleprompter-free speaking abilities. I guess they don’t notice that she sounds like an idiot. Which is what happens to a person after spending eight years saying Dubya is smart.

  22. inedalo says at 5:57 pm, July 4th, 2009

quiz Q for today: who is dumber: dubya bush or sarah “quitter” palin?

  23. Monkster says at 6:10 pm, July 4th, 2009

We need more Down Syndrome babies in the world? Who knew????

  24. chascates says at 6:29 pm, July 4th, 2009

Groucho wouldn’t join any club that would have him as a member. Sarah won’t finish any term she’s been elected to.

    Ergo, she’s a Marxist.

  25. StoneAge says at 7:34 pm, July 4th, 2009

Some people like living beyond their means, others like aspiring beyond their IQ. I’ve known several people who enter an institution - say, a college or four, a mayorship, or a governorship - and immediately think to themselves, “I can do better than these morans. They should be worshiping me as their leader!”

Except they can’t do better. And when they’ve managed to repel everyone in said institution thanks to raw cutthroat ambition, they have no choice but to bail and move onto another unsuspecting organization because “the ungrateful peons have turned on them.”

  26. edgydrifter says at 7:40 pm, July 4th, 2009

bitchincamaro: Shit yeah! She’s quitting for FREEDOM!

  27. Bruno says at 5:26 am, July 5th, 2009

Why do people keep sayin’ 4 colleges? I thought you need to go to 5 to make you the smartyest and Quitter Barbie did this.

  28. AutomaticPilot says at 8:48 am, July 5th, 2009

finallyhappy: In fact, a teleprompter may have been beneficial to her in last, rambling speech.

  29. AutomaticPilot says at 8:50 am, July 5th, 2009

AutomaticPilot: I mean HER last, rambling speech! Sheesh, maybe I need a teleprompter.

  30. disgustedcitizen says at 12:21 pm, July 5th, 2009

That’s pretty typical of the bush/cheney style repug - all they worry about is staying in power, giving no thought to actually performing the duties required of the office/position. It does my poor battered heart good to see the GOP reaping what they sowed.

But can she quit on a soul mate for a spouse she loveth not?

    That’s the Republican litmus test.
