Ahhhh race. Touchy subject. I’m a white boy who was raised in a liberal suburb of Seattle. When I left I moved to Tillary and Prince street in Ft. Greene, Brooklyn. I was the whitest white boy in five blocks and I never felt picked on. Since then I’ve lived in a variety of cities where I’m the minority. Never been robbed or assaulted in eight years. I think the secret to avoiding prejudices to really pay attention to how a person talks to you. If you look people in the eye and try to forget what MTV told you growing up you’ll a have fine time with people.
Newt’s a huge asshole because it’s his kind of thinking that encourages this notion of white people being oppressed. Frankly I don’t know if affirmative action works or not but it would be great if we could find a better solution to that problem if only to take an arrow out of the “reverse racism” quiver.
