TEABAGGING IS NO LAUGHING MATTER

Cooper Is Sorry For Scrotally Explicit Remarks

WTF does this even mean???Remember that time like a month ago when a bunch of angry wingnuts revolted against our new socialist government regime by publicly performing sex acts involving human balls? On that sacred occasion Anderson Cooper made some silly crack about how hard it is to talk when you’re teabagging, which was OFFENSIVE, and this past Sunday he had to tell an audience at UCLA that he didn’t mean to “disparage legitimate protests.” Millions of teabaggers mourned that he wouldn’t stand up for them and their deviant sexual practices. Anderson Cooper is no Edward R. Murrow, that’s for sure. [TVNewser]

But when did he disparage a legitimate protest? Protesting the existence of *taxes* is not legitimate.

    Maybe he just likes teabags.

“Anderson Cooper made some silly crack about how hard it is to talk when you’re teabagging,”
    Jesus, out yourself much Andy?

  3. ManchuCandidate says at 10:54 am, May 20th, 2009

The teabagging protests were as legit as Anderson’s love of the ladies.

  4. Crank Tango says at 10:55 am, May 20th, 2009

so does this mean that he is a “closet” “teabagger”? The world wonders…

  5. Clancy_Pants says at 10:57 am, May 20th, 2009

As we say in Denmark “det tager en til teabag ett”

  6. hobospacejunkie says at 10:57 am, May 20th, 2009

So AC is queer. Whatever. I didn’t know he is also a gelding. Oh noes! I might have offended the inbred illiterate viewers CNN is trying to steal from FOX News!

  7. blueblue says at 11:00 am, May 20th, 2009

well, if anyone knows about teabagging…….

  8. liquiddaddy says at 11:02 am, May 20th, 2009

To quote proud Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell: “murfle surfle erkle murt!”

  9. blueblue says at 11:04 am, May 20th, 2009

and, as usual, a republican starts the ball rolling but it takes a democrat to make it funny. or at least a closet democrat. or at least a closet…something. good job anderson.

  10. queeraselvis v 2.0 says at 11:04 am, May 20th, 2009

    Dear Anderson:
NOM NOM NOM. That is all.
    Sincerely,
Alberta, your girlfriend who lives in Canada.

  11. SayItWithWookies says at 11:04 am, May 20th, 2009

Who knew that careless, random teabagging could have painful consequences a month later?

  12. Here’s what really annoyed me about that who ginned up protest thing. I, a middle aged woman, had to explain to my senior citizen father what “tea bagging” means. I would also like to say that I learned this term here on Wonkette.

  13. Mr Blifil says at 11:08 am, May 20th, 2009

Did Anderson not receive the Wonkette communique that giggling each time “teabagging” is mentioned is outre and passe and that gigglers are beneath contempt?

  14. x111e7thst says at 11:08 am, May 20th, 2009

Does no one care about the scrotally challanged?

  15. Red Zeppelin says at 11:17 am, May 20th, 2009

Does Anderson favor Assam teabags, or some other kind?

  16. blueblue says at 11:17 am, May 20th, 2009

by the way, thank you whoever is responsible, for changing the photo on the prescriptionsforchange.org banner ad.

that elderly minnesota couple with matching scowls and jowls was really depressing.

I like this one of the Korean american and her future spelling bee champion baby, much better.

  17. Anderson Cooper has no balls with which to bag.

  18. Internally valid says at 11:19 am, May 20th, 2009

I like the line, “having this discussion takes away from the real story.” Really? What was the real story? Paultards hate the government? AOL/youtube commenters go outside for one day of the year? Mouth-breathers don’t like the black president? Humorless freepers drag republican party down with them? Honestly, scorn and derision was the only appropriate way to cover those protests.

  19. Crank Tango says at 11:23 am, May 20th, 2009

blueblue: I think that’s hipster grifter Kari Ferrell!

  20. hobospacejunkie says at 11:26 am, May 20th, 2009

x111e7thst: Hitler was scrotally-challenged. Why do you love Hitler? Why do you hate US America?

  21. blueblue says at 11:33 am, May 20th, 2009

Crank Tango: wow. I’ve been in europe too long. I had to google that.

kari ferrell…..maybe it is. having babies is very hip….as is teabagging.

  22. Lascauxcaveman says at 11:35 am, May 20th, 2009

Murrow just did his teabagging off-camera, as was the fashion of the time.

So Anderson Cooper is only out like Charlie Crist is out; in an everyone-is-eighty-percent-sure-but-nobody-really-cares kinda way?

  23. x111e7thst says at 11:40 am, May 20th, 2009

hobospacejunkie: So too was el Generalissimo Francisco Franco - my one true and everlasting love - %110 heterosexually of course.

  24. Mustang says at 11:49 am, May 20th, 2009

TGY: I know! What’s with all the Anderson Cooper this and Anderson Cooper that? He doesn’t have it goin’ on at ALL. And furthermore, his little “hard to talk when you’re teabagging” comment is so unhip and retarded. I’m not liking this trend to mainstream snark. When everyone is snarky, Wonkette will have to do real journalism, and we know that won’t work out.

  26. Gopherit says at 12:12 pm, May 20th, 2009

Anyone who even looked at the signs during the Teabagging Protests know it wasn’t a legit protest. Except for the Free Crystal Pepsi contingent. God love you Kevotron.

  27. Turd Way says at 12:12 pm, May 20th, 2009

Demonstrating against your real interests is more perverse than teabagging.

  28. El Pinche says at 12:13 pm, May 20th, 2009

  30. TeddyS says at 12:22 pm, May 20th, 2009

Nice try, Cooper. But apologizing to rightwingnuts is like spitting into the win, only not as productive. This ain’t over until you crawl thru the slime and teabag Rush Limbaugh.

  31. hailripley says at 12:24 pm, May 20th, 2009

I’m sorry that teabaggers are such moronic clods, living in my country. There, happy? Well… are you?!?

  33. DC Hates Me says at 12:40 pm, May 20th, 2009

I’m with Coop on this one. This tempest in a teabag is unworthy the solemn adjudication attempted for it, serving only grist for the inane perturbances of the chattering classes. But FoxNews started it!

I don’t know what’s more idiotic: morans being led by their corporate masters to ersatz protest ag their better interests, or airheads apologizing for some dull snark comment…

Terry: I feel your pain. Thankfully I live far enough way from my family that I didn’t have to ’splain it to them, esp as several of them were out there proudly holding teh teabagnorant signs ‘n all…

El Pinche: Fox News is like porn in this respect. Lots of hot women and loads of ugly men…………..all of them tea baggers. :-)

  40. russellmuscle1 says at 1:48 pm, May 20th, 2009

Gopherit: Sure it is. Anger and frustration started to build when Bush started giving away bailouts, and grew even more with Obamas stimulus plan. Most people don’t understand how a country could spend it’s way out of debt, and don’t have any education on economics to understand fiscal policy. Any worries or concerns expressed to the prez have been met with “eat it, we won”, which isn’t exactly a satisfactory explaination to many Americans. They are rightfully worried about the state of our economy, as everyone is.

Considering some of the stupid shit people protest about………….define a “legit protest”.

  41. lawrenceofthedesert says at 1:55 pm, May 20th, 2009

Lascauxcaveman: And Murrow did all his teabagging Person to Person while chain smoking, drinking Scotch and letting George Clooney do all the hard work. To which I can only say, “Good night and good luck!”

As for Cooper, he comes from a talented family — Cecil, Gary, and Alice, just to name three. His grandpa James Fenimore would tell you they are “heap famous.” In fact, they have their own Union and their own town, which has a baseball museum. Andy’s just in it for the teabagging.

  42. russellmuscle1 says at 2:05 pm, May 20th, 2009

Let me add however that I did find the tax aspect of the protests a bit rediculous, because I don’t think Obama had actualy increased any taxes.

  43. Gopherit says at 2:05 pm, May 20th, 2009

russellmuscle1: Any worries or concerns expressed to the prez have been met with “eat it, we won”, which isn’t exactly a satisfactory explaination to many Americans. That’s about the biggest pile of bullshit a troll has uttered here in a long time. Support that statement or shut the hell up. The rest of us spent years with Bush and Cheney doing EXACTLY what you accuse Obama of doing. Any idiot can tell the difference.

Be funny and troll, but take your lame horseshit somewhere else.

  44. TeddyS says at 2:15 pm, May 20th, 2009

Gopherit: I think Barry should quote that other famous black president, george w. bush, who said something like: “I have political capital and now I intend to use it.”

Translated, that means, “Eat it. We won!”

  45. dijetlo says at 2:16 pm, May 20th, 2009

    russellmuscle1:
    define a “legit protest”.
    One that has a purpose.

Getting a bunch of people carrying signs and bitch doesn’t actually constitute a protest unless the signs are for or against the same general thing. What the teaparties are is a place for people to go and complain about everything from the death of 8 track tape to the government lying to us about the world not being flat. It isn’t a protest it is multiple different protests taking place simultaneously in the same spot.
Then you get a guy from Faux news to drop by, which then makes it a “movement” in some folks mind. This begs the question though, are we moving to bring back 8 tracks or flatten the earth?

  46. SayItWithWookies says at 2:43 pm, May 20th, 2009

russellmuscle1: See, now you’re letting facts get in the way.

  47. El Pinche says at 2:46 pm, May 20th, 2009

russellmuscle1: yeah, fox news would be an inch(haha) cooler if they had Ron Jeremy or Peter North anchor.

  48. glamourdammerung says at 4:45 pm, May 20th, 2009

magic titty: That was the first thing I thought when I read that as well. There was no valid protest I am aware of. Just a bunch of the “all tax is theft” lunatic fringe, the birthers, and some even nuttier hanger ons.

  49. glamourdammerung says at 4:47 pm, May 20th, 2009

    russellmuscle1: Concern troll is concerned.
