Omar is totally my favorite character. Naturally Brother Mouzone is second.
I saw Colson Whitehead do a reading once and he is pretty much the coolest dude ever created. He wore tight-ish plaid green pants and was still cool, that’s how cool he is.
Also, a friend of mine was at a bar once and she accidentally caught her sleeve on fire from a candle and this dude at the next table quickly doused it with his ice water. And that dude was Colson Whitehead. Absolutely true story. Dude is cool and a hero.
Are any of those first editions? I only read first editions.
I always heard that the Coasties were the most debauched of the services, worse than either the Navy or the Marines!
