Avenue QYou’ve graduated college. You’ve moved to a crappy apartment. You don’t have a job, and you don’t have friends. Sound familiar? Avenue Q, a Tony Award-winning Broadway musical with the looks of Sesame Street and the perversity of Team America, reassures its audience that the Real World may be a scary place at first, but as long as you surround yourself with friends, you’ll do just fine.

With songs like “What Do You Do with a B.A. in English,” “Everyone’s a Little Bit Racist” and “I’m Not Wearing Underwear Today,” it’s hard not to remember your days as a post-grad newb-in-the-city. Both charming and a little disturbing, Avenue Q will make a fan out of any musical hater.

Avenue Q is only in town for five days, Feb. 10-15 at the Warner Theater. [Warner Theatre]

I got to see this here in Milwaukee. It rules. But they should alter one song and make it, “The Internet is for Porn… AND WONKETTE!”

The bad idea bears should be the official mascots of the Wonkabout.
