The American Dream Team.

  • Friday, Jan. 23: Brooklyn-based DJ crew American Dream Team play at the Rock & Roll Hotel at 9:30PM, and you better pray to God they play their hit “Money,” a snazzy electro song with lyrics that repeat “money, bitches, cars, clothes and weed,” D.C.’s favorite vices. [Rock & Roll Hotel]
  • Saturday, Jan. 24: Let’s hope Yo! Majesty, a black lesbian hip hop duo from Miami, get naked on stage (apparently, they do this a lot). 9PM at the Black Cat. [Eventful]
  • Sunday, Jan. 25: Reminisce about your embarrassing high school days and hit up Reel Big Fish at 6:30PM. But don’t get caught skanking … that’s just one step too far. [9:30 Club]
  • Tuesday, Jan. 27: Catch Thievery Corporation again at 7PM. (It seems like they’re always in D.C., since they live here.) [9:30 Club]
  • Wednesday, Jan. 28: The Killers and M83 play the Patriot Center 8PM at GMU and it’s probably sold out. [Patriot Center]

Funny, I always thought the paid advertising was traditionally kept in the far-left-side-of-the-page ghetto.

shortsshortsshorts January 23, 2009 at 2:35 am

[re=226508]Lascauxcaveman[/re]: That is where the less-paid Ghetto-Fabulous things usually go. But finally we can declare change-advertising in the FRONT of all things, because nobody else can pay their mortgage. Also.

“money, bitches, cars, clothes and weed,”

In direct order, all the things Americans will lose in 2k9.

barrysislamicrepublic January 23, 2009 at 7:56 am

I think I took a wrong turn on my way from The Confluence. Can you guys point me towards Wonkette? How did I end up at Myspace music? And who is that scary fellow with all the fancy jewelry?

PrairiePossum January 23, 2009 at 9:51 am

Out with “E Pluribus Unum.” In with “Money, Bitches, Cars, Clothes and Weed.” ‘Tis the way we roll.

shortsshortsshorts January 23, 2009 at 10:52 am

[re=226513]Heywood Floyd[/re]: LIES. My secret investment in Wonkette gives me 70% ownership in my brain. And that is final. Also.

Mahousu January 23, 2009 at 11:11 am

[re=226570]anno[/re]: Karl, could you cut that out?
