It’s the last weekend before this November holiday, Thanksgiving, for which you’re expected do horrible things like eat cranberries and pretend to enjoy watching hours of teevee footage of oversized balloons being stuffed in between buildings in New York City. Probably best to cram as much actual fun into this weekend as possible. Lucky for you there’s David Rees, Cornel West, and the French Kicks, right here in DC this weekend.

- Tonic Restaurant is celebrating its fifth birthday by inviting guests to wear pigtails and plaid, like five year olds. There will be no less than 60ish members of Congress at this thing at any given time. [Tonic]
Sunday:

How nice it must be to live in a city that has things going on. Here in the hinterlands, I was thinking about watching Cops on Saturday night, followed by a rousing episode of America’s Most Wanted, but they probably won’t be on.
I like West. He said he’d be partying his ass off on Day One and watching Obama’s ass on Day Two. Something like that.

I would like to go on record as saying that Oranges Band and French Kicks are the absolute shit. I fucking love them, they’ve never been bumped from my Nano.
If you live in Lakewood, WA (near Tacoma) you can go out most nights of the year and watch COPS being filmed!
