Joe Killian is an elitist media journalist de politico for a North Carolina newspaper, the Greensboro News-Record. Ooh well isn’t he neat. He was covering a Sarah Palin rally at Elon University yesterday, a radical liberal college, and when he laughed at the college kids fighting with the Palin supporters outside the event, some fat slob kicked him to the ground from behind, haw haw haw.

Killian has written a long post about this on his personal blog. Basically the crowd was very Anti-Media, because the media is in at least five billion tanks for Barack Obama, each tank being insured by AIG credit default swaps. Risk has been neutralized! The Palin supporters do not like this aspect of the Media.

This all played out on a micro level yesterday, according to Killian:

After the speech was over I was walking around getting peoples’ reactions to it when I wandered into several clusters of sign waving Obama supporters outside the stadium area. They were surrounded by McCain-Palin folks and both sides were yelling at each other.

I sidled up to one of the Obama supporters and asked why they were there, what they were trying to accomplish.

As he was telling me a large, bearded man in full McCain-Palin campaign regalia got in his face to yell at him.

“Hey, hey,” I said. “I’m trying to interview him. Just a minute, okay?”

The man began to say something about how of course I was interviewing the Obama people when suddenly, from behind us, the sound of a pro-Obama rap song came blaring out of the windows of a dorm building. We all turned our heads to see Obama signs in the windows.

This was met with curses, screams and chants of “U.S.A” by McCain-Palin folks who crowded under the windows trying to drown it out and yell at the person playing the stereo.

It was a moment of levity in an otherwise very tense situation and so I let out a gentle chuckle and shook my head.

“Oh, you think that’s funny?!” the large bearded man said. His face was turning red. “Yeah, that’s real funny…” he said.

And then he kicked the back of my leg, buckling my right knee and sending me sprawling onto the ground.

Killian considered chasing the “large bearded man” down, but didn’t because that would have been irresponsible and also who gives a fuck? He proves to be in the tank nevertheless with this comical bit:

So instead I limped off to try to find a security guard or cop.

When I did the guy was nowhere to be found.

“He’s this big fat guy with a brown beard and he’s wearing a McCain-Palin shirt and hat,” I said.

And then felt like an idiot. I was surrounded by people who fit that description.

Ah, these are the real Americans, the patriots! Conveying their message via violence and suppression of dissent.

Bostoprov October 17, 2008 at 3:39 pm

Who let him out of his tank??

vintageways October 17, 2008 at 3:40 pm

Where can I find this pro-Obama rap song?

tunamelt October 17, 2008 at 3:41 pm

Haha. Fat people.

AngryBlakGuy October 17, 2008 at 3:42 pm

…who would have figured that Sara Palin rallies would be packed with pot-bellied, hairy, red-necks that are drawn toward violence?!

WonderWomyn October 17, 2008 at 3:42 pm

Oh that was the funniest story. Ha ha ha our nation is falling apart! I’d start a race riot here in the Bronx but everyone likes Obama and is a black panther, an illegal Mexican or some kind of terrorist cab driver– and we all love each other too much to riot right now.

Could you send some fat white people with beards in Palin hats up here so we can get it started???

mattbolt October 17, 2008 at 3:42 pm

Angry fat McCain fans chanting USA to drown out pro-Obama rap music and then assaulting journalists PLEASE LET THERE BE VIDEO OH GOD PLEASE

[re=138518]vintageways[/re]: It’s by Ludacris, assuming there’s only one, which is probably untrue because rappers are in the tank and it’s really easy to rhyme Obama with Yo Mama so they can probably write 10 a day and still have time to throw some fresh d’s on they’ cadillac

Uh anyways youtube Ludacris Obama or something

NoWireHangers October 17, 2008 at 3:45 pm

There’s got to be green energy in rounding up all the fat, rabid, stupid, angry Palin supporters and locking them in a pen while blasting NOBAMA rap music. Their rage–it could power cities.

WonderWomyn October 17, 2008 at 3:46 pm

[re=138516]Doglessliberal[/re]: I’m sort of enjoying the frenzy as it builds– as they get whipped up in to a frenzy their true colors start to show. The thing that blows my mind is that these people don’t think that they have issues with racism or homophobia or anything– but when you ask them about why they don’t like Obama they can’t explain it.

shortsshortsshorts October 17, 2008 at 3:46 pm

HAHAHA!!! It’s completely opposite here, where we force McPalin supporters INTO the tank and sink them into the Bay.

[re=138535]WonderWomyn[/re]: I just read the comment thread under that video. I don’t spend a lot of time on YouTube and I was unaware of how retarded the commenters are there. For instance, I just found out that Obama is bisexual and supports teaching 3 year olds that it’s “okay to be gay.” Also, he is planning on slaughtering non-Muslims.

What do you suppose it’s like being THAT stupid… does it hurt?

rmontcal October 17, 2008 at 3:54 pm

Doesn’t that fatty know that he’s not supposed to kick knees? The proper approach is to shoot from helicopters. Duh.

Datsun510 October 17, 2008 at 3:54 pm

Apocalypstick loves that she is stirring up the poison in this country, the nasty crud stuck to the bottom of our melting pot. These xenophobic monsters actually believe that That One is not an American – at least not their kind of American. And therefore treat support of Obama as a real personal threat. Violent physical response is their default mode.

People who choose to gather in support of Barack Obama deserve praise, but they should also be warned of the risk they are taking.

I once met a drunken redneck who almost beat me up because he was in the army in Iraq and was damned if some black muslim was gonna turn our country over to al Qaeda. In New Jersey, of all places!

The weirdest part about all this is how “USA! USA!” has become the official chant for suppressing dissenting viewpoints.

It’s the problem with hate. If you let it out of the box to elect you, when you’re done with it it doesn’t want to go quietly back in the box. It hates the box. It took Clinton until ’95 to get the hate out, and it spent five and one half years in the box and doesn’t want to go back. Anything but back in the box. It hates the box.

Hey, don’t worry: That lyin’ librul made the whole thing up! Cause that’s just what those lyin’ libruls always do. And even if it did happen, one of the commenters on the above story points out that “If the 4th estate persists in blatant treason, it’s perfectly reasonable to expect that people will start to get physical about it.” Because libruls caused the Holocaust and Stalin’s purges and the Cultural Revolution and the Toyota Prius.
