Ha ha ha Luke Russert, NBC’s Official Young Persons Correspondent, apparently made a terrible slip this morning and said “the smartest kids in the state go [to UVA], so it’s leaning a little bit towards Obama,” which was a terrible insult to all the remedial readers at the University of Virginia who will also vote for Obama. Naturally, an apology was in order.
Here is what he wrote on First Read:

Earlier this morning on the Today Show I misspoke and made what is without a doubt, quite simply a dumb comment.
Matt Lauer talked about UVA being a smart school and whether or not it could be considered a microcosm of Virginia at large. I said UVA had a lot of smart kids and so the school was leaning Obama.
I MEANT to say that many of the kids who go to UVA are from affluent, highly educated households who are leaning Obama and hence their kids lean Obama. Plenty of smart college kids will vote for John McCain from UVA, and plenty of smart kids go to Virginia Tech or George Mason and they, too, could end up being big Obama voters.
Today was one of my first lessons in the perils of live television…lesson learned.

Smart kids go to UVa? Well, that university has the same problem Duke does, basically two parallel universes existing on the same campus. Yep, you get smart kids going there for an education, but you also get legacy students and children of priviledge who are, collectively, about as dumb as a box of hair.

Sort of OT, but big story on NPR on Sunday about how a lot of college students at traditionally black colleges in VA are being denied the right to register by idiot voter registrar offices who say they have to be residents. The USSCt said that was not true a good while ago, but somehow word didn’t trickle down to Norfolk, VA. So Obama is losing a lot of votes of students who missed their chance to vote absentee or cannot get home in time to vote. Thanks, Virgnia.

For the record: I graduated from Hawaii Pacific University (and yes, I partied my ass off and went to class wearing board shorts). Wanna guess who spent her first year of college at good ‘ol HPU?
Hint: her first name rhymes with “Para” and her last name rhymes with “Sailin” and she is currently a candidate for Vice President.
I too am “leaning a little bit towards Obama” in this whole affair so stupid people from less-than-stellar colleges will vote for the Muslim, terrorist too.
The whole issue is moot since there are no smart kids from Virginia. In fact there are no kids period because Virginians are all virgins and therefore cannot have children. Plus they eat any kids that stray over the border from neighboring states. So what’s all the fuss about?

MoonshineJoe: I went to the law school (UVa) and it was super conservative (big on the law and economics stuff), but there were a few token liberal professors (a black man! who taught Critical Race Theory! Oh My! The seditiousness!) The student parking lot looked like a German car dealership, whereas the professors’ lot looked like Rent-a-Wreck. (my car fit in a whole lot better with the profs’, for the record)
