Why Does John McCain Want To Feast On Your Child’s Brains?

by Jim Newell  11:33 am September 9, 2008

Barack Obama’s new ad is about Education. How very exciting. Education. But given the material, it’s mildly funny: the screen suddenly turns gray and a pervy image of John McCain appears and he’s just staring at the creatures and his head is inflating like a devil balloon and he hates education money and he’s like I’M GONNA FUCKING EAT YR BRAIN NOODLES, exactly. Cogito Ergo Bibo September 9, 2008 at 11:40 am

Creepy growing Grandpa! OH NOZ! He’s standing by that evil Dubya man!

Good commercial, but I want to see more about the economy. I’d like to see a similar one ad on all the hot-button issues, showing why Hopey rulz and Grampster droolz.

DoctorCulturae September 9, 2008 at 11:40 am

What’s particularly delicious is McPappy’s “teacher” beaming in at the end. It’s an angle worth pursuing: McPoo got his education from Dub.

SayItWithWookies September 9, 2008 at 11:41 am

Now I want some brain noodles.

The big thing for Repubs now is this issue of school choice. That is when you get a tax rebate to send your kids to private schools. I don’t have anything against private schools, except south of the Mason Dixon line where I live, private schools tend to be synonymous with “white” schools. And I do have a problem with that. So I like this ad and hope the Dems push the education angle.

AmericanValues September 9, 2008 at 11:49 am

In all seriousness, Barry needs to do much more to tie his education policy platform to his personal story and “example of the American dream” biography.

Wait that sounds way TOO LIBERAL! Where’s Mittens to help us sort this out?

DoctorCulturae September 9, 2008 at 11:51 am

[re=89735]StripesAndPlaids[/re]: Agreed. But, the real objective for the Neospawns is getting rid of public education all together. The “choice” meme for them is reinterpreted from what it means to Dems on abortion. It’s another heinous bait and switch. Choice to them means, choice if you have teh bucks. Accountability means accountability to the bottom line. So, to them one can have choice if one makes enough of teh bucks.

jimh September 9, 2008 at 11:53 am

Education? This is the issue he chose?
Hopey needs an ad about what Americans CARE ABOUT!
HE NEEDS AN AD ABOUT TRUCK NUTZ!

SayItWithWookies September 9, 2008 at 11:53 am

[re=89735]StripesAndPlaids[/re]: I’m all for sending kids to the best schools around, but why should anyone get a frickin’ tax rebate to do it? I don’t have kids, and I don’t get a tax rebate for that. My understanding is that all property taxes pay for all public education, period. If Republicans want to send their kids to private schools, they should do it the American way — get fuckin’ rich. Losers.

Got to ding Hopey on the assertion that spending more $$ = better education. You can make that argument about any program, like: giving Haliburton more $$ makes Amurrica safe.

Or…arguing with political ads = hopeless lunacy.

Tawmn September 9, 2008 at 12:06 pm

They need to show Sarah and talk about her opposition to sex education… and then fade in her daughter too.

slavojzizek September 9, 2008 at 12:09 pm

Make America #1 in education?? Come on, Barack, lets be realistic. #15th best would be a huge improvement.

TGY September 9, 2008 at 12:14 pm

BRAAAAAANNN! BRAAAANNNN!

He’s a man of high moral fiber.

StripesAndPlaids September 9, 2008 at 12:15 pm

[re=89763]V572625694[/re]: I understand your point, but the fact is we don’t spend that much. I can promise you this: if you spend more money you will get better education than if you spend less.

[re=89748]DoctorCulturae[/re]: I don’t think they want to get rid of it all together, I think they want public schools to take care of people they don’t want in their private schools. To whit, people who do service jobs. True story: in Charleston SC a school board person commented on public education: “How much education do you need to clean hotel rooms.” I’ll admit I didn’t quote verbatim.

[re=89752]SayItWithWookies[/re]: I agree. We don’t run taxes on a cafeteria plan. I haven’t had a fire, but I still pay taxes to support a fire department. I’ve always thought this would make a clever car magnet:

Freedom isn’t free. Pay your taxes.

[re=89763]V572625694[/re]:

You’re right about the tactic, though the undelying theme is the truth.
Hopey just needs to be more direct.

“Wally wants to keep taking all of your money and give it to his rich friends.
He doesn’t give a shit about your or your children. If he’s elected, we’re al fucked.”

You know….direct.

loudmouthredhead September 9, 2008 at 12:19 pm

It would have been more convincing if there was a faint, but building, track of his demonic cackiling in the background.
“Keh heh heh heh. Keh-heh keh-heh. Heheheh…”

That, or melt his face off ala Raiders of the Lost Ark (c)/(tm)/(gtfo)

lazyb September 9, 2008 at 12:21 pm

[re=89735]StripesAndPlaids[/re]: It’s really quite impressive how many crapass private schools down here were founded right after Brown v. Board of Ed.

Education? Issues? No no no. Hopey needs to run ads only about the simple truths that John McCain is an ancient asshole and Palin is a nutjob. We as a nation are way to stupid for issues-based advertising.

lazyb September 9, 2008 at 12:25 pm

Way to make a point about stupid, stupid. Too.

StripesAndPlaids September 9, 2008 at 12:27 pm

[re=89783]lazyb[/re]: With names like ‘Stonewall Jackson Academy.’

Miller September 9, 2008 at 12:51 pm

How else do you expect McCain to gain knowledge of all things internet and electronic? Books? No, eating child brains is the only way.

OhYeahAlright September 9, 2008 at 12:55 pm

Obviously, the brains of little children are very high in fiber. McCain knows this, as he’s been feasting on their minds since humanity evolved the capacity to reproduce, and he simply needs some help with his BM. Is there any problem with that? No, good, didn’t think so.

BaxterJones September 9, 2008 at 2:24 pm

It’s nice to see Obama getting around to education, an issue where he excels.

V572625694 September 9, 2008 at 5:34 pm

[re=89777]StripesAndPlaids[/re]: [re=89779]MoodProcessor[/re]: It’s undeniably true that good education costs more than bad. Some years ago when Colorado was in a lawsuit about its state funding to local schools that fed more to rich districts than poor ones, some of the jerkwads in state government actually argued in court that “poorer” school districts were able to do more with less money, so it wasn’t unfair to give them less.

It’s also true that paying teachers more gets you better new teachers. But paying the current teachers more doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll do a better job; it just means they’ll never quit.

Jingo September 10, 2008 at 1:21 am

I think this ties in with McCain’s railing against age appropriate sex education for kids – the same education that teaches children to avoid pedophiles. I think McCain knows if kids get too wise, he’ll be in big trouble…. Oh no, I didn’t mean to imply anything about Mccain. I just meant kids will bug their parents to vote Obama. I’m sure Mccain is definitely not a pedophile…. now Lindsey Graham?… I’m staying quiet on that one.
