I’m sorry but the white guy was telling the, ya know, hot to behave for a number of years. Just because this Jackson gentleman believes he is white, does not make him right.

YOU KNOW WHAT I AM SAYING MY ******s?

  2. Destonio

Time for Jesse to go off on a very, very long trip far, far away.

Hell hath no fury like a self-appointed spokesperson replaced.

  3. masterdebater

Well, that’s nothing. Barry called me a cracker. OK, he didn’t really, but he was thinking it. I saw him thinking it. And Hillary called me hard working. That hurt most of all.

When my faggoty self was mistaken for a whitey, I was so distraught that I busted a cap in that bitch’s knees.

This could have been headed off at the pass if only, when the Jeremiah Wright bullshit was going on, Obama had said, “Sure he says some crazy shit — I take the good parts out of his sermons and the rest I don’t mind because I can tell the bullshit from the useful parts — and frankly I think the crazy rants are a hoot.” I mean Christ — it’s the same reason I took the English class with the loopy ultra-tenured professor — sometimes you learned something interesting about Joyce’s Dubliners, and other times you listened to a long story about how he had to have his tongue surgically shortened because it wouldn’t fit in his mouth (no, I’m not making that up.) Either way, it was going to be memorable.

So fuck it — I’m white and have horrible feelings about saying the n-word in public — but Jesse, this is for you: If the motherfucker wants to say nigger, let the motherfucker say nigger. He’s fuckin’ earned it, much more so than (cough — JesseHelms — cough) white people who use it in some plantation mentality context. And we’re adults here — we understand context. Unless it’s on the cover of New Yorker, and then we go apeshit.

Anyway, the point would be — wouldn’t it be much more fun if we treated each other like adults instead of like six-year-olds? If you’re black, and have had firehoses blow you off the street and been chased down by german shepherds, then say whatever you want. Hell, I don’t criticize him for believing in God, which in my opinion is far more dumbass than saying nigger. If I can be that magnanimous, then the Viagra-popping, loofah-looming, late-night-voicemail-leaving dumbasses who expect to hear gangstas in restaurants yelling “Get me a motherfucking iced tea” can be at least as full of the milk of human kindness. Cracker motherfuckers.

[re=38200]SayItWithWookies[/re]: Isn’t part of the problem here that JJ went out and publicly denounced using the word nigger? Even by other black folks?

I get what you’re saying, but I have to point out that Jesse has been hoist by his own petard here. It’s the problem with grandstanding on any issue, you have to live by the word you preach. Especially if your brand of preaching tends to fall into the umbrage-taking category (I’m talking recently, not during the firehoses and german shepherds era).

    Jackson, please.

That nigger shit might go over in Hymietown, but not in Chicago.

[re=38200]SayItWithWookies[/re]: Yeah! Jesse Jackson is a shakedown Queen. He don’t give a shit about his n-gers. All he wants is some concessions for his people, like an Anheuser-Busch distributorship for his son (around Wrigley Field in Chicago), and a US Congress Distributorship for Jesse Jackson Jr.

How does this emm-effer have so much money as a Christian Minister who has never held a minister job?

  10. SayItWithWookies

[re=38206]Cicada[/re]: You’re absolutely right — Jesse’s acted like a dumbass. And he should say that and admit that trying to get people not to say or do something will almost always result in failure, and he’s going to try something new — whatever it is.

Getting over “nigger” is a noble goal for our society — he just went about it the wrong way — the same way, apparently, that he chose to get over having sex with women other than his wife: establish a goal he can’t meet; struggle; fail; deal with the humiliation; repeat. He should give up trying to act like Jesus, because when he fails at that he hides his humanity and thus ends up acting like Nixon.

Now that I think about it though, not saying “nigger” seems like a pretty easy goal to reach. Especially in front of a microphone. When you’re a preacher who happens to be black. Aw hell — I don’t know what to think.

  11. Canuckledragger

Would Jesse Helms approve of Jesse Jackson?

When does JJ team up for a show with Imus?

How will that play in Hymietown?

So many questions. *So little interest…*

  12. WonkaBee

OK, leaving aside that he must never have heard Chris Rock….

The following quote bugs me more than any one word: “I’m quick to say if I’ve done any harm or hurt, for that I have deep regrets because I want my pluses to be stronger than my minuses.” (AP article)

This takes the classic non-apology “if I have xyz’d, then I have regrets” and couples it with the emptiest, most self-serving reason for apologizing that anyone could have: “I want plusses” ??? WTF?

Can he embarass himself and anybody linked with him any further? Dumbest Human Ever!

  13. Lazy Media

Now, the crustion is, did he say niggers (which is terrible) or niggaz? The latter just makes him all hip and whatnot (whatnot in the instance meaning “hypocritical”).

Jesse’s biggest sin in my mind is thinking he can have a candid, if impolitic, conversation with a Fox reporter, and not have it splashed all over the world. Dumb dumbie.

  14. Servo

He’s just pissed because Sheriff Bart took away his shine.
He needs to go away and deflate that big head.

I’d actually forgotten Jackson is a minister. Does he have a congregation anymore, or does he just go around getting people to apologize to him?

  16. ServiceJervixJuice

A former girlfriend of mine used to work the desk at the Monarch Hotel in D.C. circa 1998, and told me Rev. Jackson used frequently bring in young girls to “witness to them” for an hour or so…

  17. Canmon (the Inadequate)

When MSNBC said he used the N-word, I thought they must mean “nuts” or “nipple”. Of course, now that you’ve used that word, Jesse Jackson will have to call for a boycott of Wonkette until you learn racial transcendence.

  18. Mumble Softly

I am listening to some mad crazy raps from NWA (Niggaz with Attitude)
back in the day before Dr. Dre , dey beez da dopest . Aint nothing wrong with niggaz calling others niggaz, its just like saying peeps or bros. White people are not allowed to call blacks niggaz, but Jesse aint white, so no problems here.

<< ughua ughua pfft pfft (spitting noises and scratching records)

  19. Cord

How dare one used the N-Word in connection to the great holy Luo-Tribesman Messiah Barack Fitzgerald Obama Jr. Jesse Jackson should be tarred and feathered at Gitmo then allowed to sue to Bush Administration for abuse.

  20. marciax3

Yeah, Jesse’s in it deep this time, but I was a-thinkin: He was using air quotations when he said “teach the niggers how to act”. Just a subtle change in tone and I knew what he meant. Hell, I’m black and can’t stand the casual use of the word, but say it in just the way he did, about the same subject.

Oh christ. This whole time I thought it stood for “Negroes with Aptitude”. So much for my image of them.

    <<< flashes gangsigns

ps. Why is ok for blacks to call whites CRACKA ??

  23. Lionel Hutz Esq.

Wait, isn’t calling black people “nigger” talking down to black people?
