Barack Obama Spreads Propaganda About Self!

“Mr. Sensitive” over here, Barack Obama, has launched a creepy new website to tackle the various Smears about him that have reached unforeseen levels of ubiquity among AOL e-mail accounts. It features a number of neon blue bald eagles flying around for The Truth. It also calls GOP operative Roger Stone a “sleazemeister,” which is a pretty funny made-up word. And that’s why he’s a Muslim. [Fight the Smears]

As a president with a 12 inch coal sausage, Sen. Obama wouldn’t have to compensate by starting wars. He just has to fist bump the fuck out of Michelle.

What I love is that the Repubs are so desperate to find something bad about Hopey, they are attacking the VP search commitee members. These are people gathering info on candidates. They are not in the friggin’ Administration that doesn’t exist yet or even policy advisers for the campaign. It’s like attacking Obama’s tailor or campaign food supplier. The WaPo is of course making a huge deal out of how damaging this is to Obama, but really, does anyone outside the Beltway give a hoot about this issue? Wait until McCain picks The Dark Lord Dick for his VP, then people might start to pay attention.

  20. I’m loving the McSmear McAsterisks.

  21. ronaldpagan says at 1:03 pm, June 12th, 2008

Smear-fighting is the kind of thing you see in websites of third party, racially suspect organizations, where it will be like:

“SMEAR: Pat Buchanan is a Holocaust denier.
TRUTH: Pat Buchanan is one of the few public figures with the cojones to question liberal propaganda, and suggest that the Holocaust may have been exaggerated.

SMEAR: Ron Paul is a racist.
TRUTH: Ron Paul merely published a newspaper in which he encouraged his subordinates to say racist things. The Sheeple who hate freedom of speech are the real racists!

SMEAR: Ann Coulter is hideous and looks like a tranny dominatrix.
TRUTH: Ann Coulter is a beautiful, beautiful women.”

You see what I’m saying? Smear-busters are usually people on the fringe…of course Obama has to do it too, because he’s black. This is a racist country, the end.

  22. Ha ha, they “prove” Obama didn’t take his oath on the Koran by showing a picture of him, his lovely family, and a sneering Dick Cheney with Barry’s hand on … some random book? Sure, they say it’s his “family bible,” but for all we know it could be the Necronomicon.

…hey, that’s actually a pretty good idea. “Lie: Senator Obama was sworn into the US Senate using the Koran. Truth: Senator Obama was sworn into office using the forbidden book of the Mad Arab Abdul Alhazred, and he dedicates his service in Congress to advancing the cause of his Dread Lord Cthulu.”

  23. Josh Fruhlinger: Smear: Barack Obama drinks lattes. Truth: Barack Obama is a latte. A delicious, delicious latte.

The “Dreams of My Father” quotes page is funny. Some of the quotes are taken insultingly out of context.

Fake quote: ‘I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.’

Real quote: But these men had become object lessons for me, men I might love but never emulate, white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.

Hey Obama, do you realize Malcolm would kick your ass? Not as hard as he would kick mine, but still.

Theres a creepy ass picture of the Obama family stading right next to Oswald Cobblepot. I mean Dick Cheney.

    I’m hoping it’s a shoop.

  30. ronaldpagan: Oh please. More than anything, Malcolm X wanted to be a lawyer and regretted his lack of educational opportunity. Five minutes with Barry, and Malcolm would’ve been on the streets, organizing the electorate for him.

  31. ronaldpagan says at 1:26 pm, June 12th, 2008

AxmxZ: Malcolm couldn’t stand MLK. I find it hard to believe that he could have tolerated Barry. Maybe in his (Malcolm’s) old age…

  32. vicuna says at 1:35 pm, June 12th, 2008

AxmxZ: The anti-smear site needs more latte humor, but the people who need to read this can’t separate snark from reality. “What? He’s a Latvian African Amurican? What in THE hayull?” “That’s a devil book?”

  33. ronaldpagan: I think he couldn’t stand MLK because the whole Lordy-Lordy-preacher angle to the fight for basic civil rights sickened him. I can relate. So he might have found Barry a chump, but for different reasons than MLK. He’d probably find his constant pleasantness inhuman and grating; ditto for his general lack of outrage at any given injustice. But I think he would sense enough ambition, drive, intellectual acuity and snobbery in Barry to make up for the boring sweetness and light.

Plus, Malcolm X was no more a static creature than anyone else. He might not have been educated, but he was pretty sharp. There’s a reason his own people had him whacked.

  34. Johnny Zhivago says at 1:38 pm, June 12th, 2008

  39. ronaldpagan says at 2:00 pm, June 12th, 2008

AxmxZ: Good points. But it wasn’t just the preacher angle; it was that he saw Martin as too compromising. I think if he wasn’t won over by Martin - whose eloquence and devotion to civil rights are a million times more impressive than Barry’s - he’d be unimpressed by Bear-Bear. He still respected Martin a lot, and there’s good odds he’d secretly vote for Barry. And have a crush on Michelle.

Gopherit v2.0: I had the same thought at first, but actually this is genious.

The Republican strategy against Barack Obama this fall amounts to creating an air of uncertainty around him, make white folks uncomfortable - especially white women – so then Oldy McOlderson can slip in under the wire and into the White House.

Well, yeah right. The October “surprise” ain’t no surprise at all to any body who isn’t an economist or working for a ratings agency: the American economy, workforce and housing market will be so fucking decimated by the fall, the American people would be ready to elect Rev. Wright himself to end the bumblefuckkery of the past 8 years.

This website will provide a trough that can feed the media consistent facts to manage all dumb rumors crossing their desks. They can preemptively stave off the poor reporting that ultimately lands them as a screenshot on Huffington Post or TPM, or The Daily Show. The Obama campaign burned the media with that ABC debate; they are still smarting. This website is giving the MSM a chance to step up to the plate.

The Drudge Report fake-leak shit felled Hillary’s campaign, it will fell McCain’s as well.

  49. problemwithcaring says at 2:43 pm, June 12th, 2008

ronaldpagan: Almost. Malcolm couldn’t stand MLK only prior the Mecca prilgrimage. He realized it actually took more balls…What were we talking about?

Also, where’s the flag pin anti-smear? I want to see a 15-minute slideshow of pictures of Barack wearing flag pins, dagnamit!

  57. ronaldpagan: There you go! Bonding opportunities wherever you look. And Barry is such a Rorscharch blot, Malcolm would probably look into his eyes and see a better version of himself, just like everyone else under the freaking sun.

  58. NedPepper says at 3:11 pm, June 12th, 2008

ronaldpagan: A rat if cornered will become so angry it will bite itself. That is exactly what the harboring of hate and resentment against me is, a biting of yourself. You think you are harming me in holding these spites and hates, the deeper harm is to yourself. Chomp, Chomp, Chomp.

  59. Gopherit v2.0: And get Swiftboated just like Kerry? No, thanks. Believe it or not, there are plenty of people out there who believe the lies not because they desperately want to believe them but because they are the most readily available information. So if Barry starts an active truth-disseminating campaign, he’ll do himslf no end of good.

  60. ronaldpagan says at 3:34 pm, June 12th, 2008

AxmxZ: I’m between the two of you. Obama posting a video of himself saying the Pledge of Allegiance can only help. The Swiftboat garbage worked against Kerry because he’s not a likable guy. He was completely out of touch with what most Dems thought, and had a negative charisma to boot. Even most of the Dems loved to make fun of him. I don’t think most of the smear even stuck. It won’t be anywhere as easy to do something like this with Obama. They’ve tried with several times already, and nothing is sticking…..because he’s genuine. Hell, even Bill Clinton didn’t have that going for him.

  72. Gopherit v2.0 says at 5:55 pm, June 12th, 2008

problemwithcaring: I’m trying to understand your point, or even if you have one. Time and again I’ve seen the following: when asked a ridiculous question by a reporter, he addresses and refutes the garbage being directed towards him, and moves forward. In the case of the Rev Wright story, where there might have been some legitimate concern, he took actions to mitigate it. Your description of “scheduling a huge press event, giving interviews to Fox news about it and then planning two-day policy conferences on rumor transcendence, the whole time bitching about the “climate of smear” “sounds more like a Clintonian fap -fest than anything approaching reality. His only mention of a “climate of smear” occurred, according to your friend Google, a year and a half ago when the madrassa smear started at the beginning of his campaign.

Regardless, my point is thus: maintaining a web page just to deny garbage only retards would believe without proof after the issues in question have been soundly refuted is pointless. This has been proved time and time again. From the minority that still support Bush, to the 9/11 Truthers, it’s only waste of time and energy to argue with them.

  73. NedPepper says at 5:58 pm, June 12th, 2008

Canuckledragger: Hate is only power to love misused. The difference between those superior and their inferiors is like that between the wind and the grass. The grass bends when the wind blows over it. I see you are leaning to near the tipping point. whoooooooooooooosh!

  74. problemwithcaring says at 6:47 pm, June 12th, 2008

Gopherit v2.0: I’m trying to understand YOUR point. Is snopes.com a bad idea? If he didn’t need the site, if the reporter/rumor mill relationship was not so fraught with difficulties, he wouldn’t need to repeat the same denials over and over again. Yes, my description was snark-heavy - thanks for holding it against me, asshole - but the point I made should have been clear. Step One: He repeatedly answers questions about the flagpins; two: he repeats statements about appropriateness of wearing flagpins; three: he clarifies previous statements about flagpins: step four, he just starts wearing ‘em.

Obviously, his blackness makes him suspect and the press sees nothing “illegitimate” about bombarding him with questions like this throughout the campaign. So this becomes a preemptive attempt to weaken an existing, very real GOP tactic going into the general election. Instead of just getting in bed with Donnie McClurkin to prove to all the ‘tards that he loves Jesus, or giving rambling speeches against powerless dictators to prove that you don’t plan to annihilate all Jews, he creates a mechanism by which all such innuendo gets painted with the same broad brush and subsequently further delegitimized.

Stra-te-ge-ry. It made not work, but I applaud its proactive nature.

Anyway you, say: “Regardless, my point is thus: maintaining a web page just to deny garbage only retards would believe without proof after the issues in question have been soundly refuted is pointless.”

Isn’t this exactly the point of the website you deride? To serve as a clearinghouse that “soundly refutes” such garbage? So what is YOUR point? Or do you have one, besides you don’t like this idea of it happening through a web site, so the campaign shouldn’t do it?

Also - watch how you talk to me.

Senator Obama is NOT a Dirty Muslim!

“What you won’t hear from this campaign or this party is the kind of politics that uses religion as a wedge,” says Mr. Obama, while denouncing statements of him being a Muslim as a smear. Why is the presidential candidate who claims to be religiously inclusive is treating the word “Muslim” as an insult? Apparently, it is OK for Mr. Obama to be associated with terrorists like William Ayers or racists like Jeremiah Wright, but God forbid somebody would call him a Muslim! No, he won’t stand for that kind of smear! We admit that most terrorists are Muslims, but most Muslims are not terrorists and the statement on Mr. Obama’s website is insulting to hundreds of millions of people.

How could a man who discards his family heritage in favor of political expediency be even considered for presidency of the United States? Where are all the so-called “Islamic civil rights groups” like CAIR, MPAC, ISNA, MAS, etc. who are quick to defend every Islamic terrorist, but are silent when Muslims in general are being denigrated? Would Mr. Obama have the same reaction if someone claimed that he was raised as a Jew? We sincerely doubt that.

Muslims Against Sharia demand immediate removal of “SMEAR: Barack Obama is a Muslim” statement from the official Barack Obama’s website as well as an apology for giving the word “Muslim” a negative connotation.

    http://muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com/2008/06/senator-obama-is-not-dirty-muslim.html
