What about option D : Both Hillary and Obama should drop out of the race and allow Ralph Nader his rightful shot at the presidency ?
Funny elitist math all the way around this election. Also, 60% is the number of Democrats who think Hillary is a Harpie. More polling later.
Stoopid demtards!
And Ron Paul stayed flat.
Flag pin! Bowling score! Drop out now, Obama!
Question to the Wonks:
Why do you guys even bother trying to debate with the Jezebels?
I'm surprised only 15% want Obama to get out of the race. What with his lead in delegates and popular vote, it's only a matter of time before he defers to the Clinton inevitability machine.
60% of democrats also support a laminated certificate of participation for all candidates and free ice cream.
Who ARE these people, because I do not know a single person who wants them both to continue campaigning.
@Doglessliberal: I think this is what happens when you conduct exit polls outside of special education classes.
I'd say that all the numbers sound a little low, but then I'd be failing at math, so I have to accept that they were given only three choices.
How many democrats want Bill Clinton to marry Barbra Striesand and be invited to the wedding?
That 15% is comfortably within the "Keyes number", the number of voters who are insane.
The idea being that Alan Keyes got 27% of the vote in his Illinois Senate race against Obama, and he was clearly barking and incompetent besides.
I did not come up with this idea, it was a pundit or author or something. I tried to cite it but you try googling various combinations of "Keyes, insane, crazy" and finding a relevant result.
@Doglessliberal: Not to state the obvious, but based on the poll, apparently most people want the race to continue.
...FINALLY a poll that Hillary is beating Obama in!!!
Don't you mean 75% of Democrats forgot to take their tard pills? Damn health care system.
@Magister: based on my long ago classes in survey methods and stats in college, a sample size of 516 has a large enough margin of error to be fairly
unreliable. You need to get above 1000 for it to be reasonably reliable. They cite 5%+/- but I think it is even larger than that. If that % is correct, that is still 55% wanting it to continue. All I can figure is that these people are masochists.
@Doglessliberal: Still, it's probably a more accurate sample than "everyone Doglessliberal knows."
Maybe they think that "Democratic Presidential Nomination Campaign" is one of those stopgap reality shows that started airing during the writers' strike. Fucking morons; I'm joining the dead 2%.
wait, does the retard medicine make you RETARDED, or NOT RETARDED?
@illnoise: There's only one way to find out!
I'm staunchly pro-Obama, and think Clinton's just embarrassing herself and/or cheating and/or figuring out a way to scam her way to the nomination, but I think it's unfair that anyone would insist she drop out if she wants to keep wasting racist post-menopausal feminist's money, as long as the racist post-menopausal feminists are stupid enough to keep giving her more. I'd do the same thing if I were her.
So what I'm saying, is I probably would have voted with the retarded 60%, but certainly not the VERY retarded 15%
@norbizness: I agree. The 60% is oversampled Elite Media Types with their orange juice, economists and waffles. They want this thing to go on for the ratings.
@Doglessliberal: I agree that such a small sample could be misleading and I've sometime questioned the "science" of polling, altogether.
But, I've posted a few reasons to my TPM blog about why I think the continuing race is a good thing and I've touched upon them in some of my comments in this space. It seems to me that the primary group who'd like the race to end are the vocal Obama supporters and if you consider that turnout has been close to 50% and just over 50% of them have been voting for Obama, then the above 23% could be getting pretty close to representing his total vote.
I know that's probably not the case because I'm sure some who have voted are in the 60%, but I have to agree that most people are probably wanting the thing to continue because to them, it's not hurting anything.
they make medicine for that now?
@illnoise: It's like how Ritalin calms hyperactive kids. Libtards need a retard pill to be less elitist and more bitter.
Hillary is changing the math again!! Now she says you ACTUALLY need 2029 delegates to win, which is her "interpretation" of the party rules. I think she is also taking retard pills.
[blogs.usatoday.com]
I have no problem with Hillary staying in if she wants to, but since she cannot win, she should shut up and stay in the way Mike Huckabee did.
Hell, its says a lot when you are being outclassed by Mike Huckabee.
@Lionel Hutz Esq.: Yeah. I would vote for her to drop out, not because I don't think she has every right to stay in the race, but because of the way she's doing the Republicans' dirty work with her attacks on Barack.
60% think both should continue to campaign as PRES AND VP candidates! Damn librul media and your wily ways, why do you continue to ignore the inevitability of the unbeatable Clinton/Obama '08 ticket? It's got the same ring to it as the "Two rabid badgers in a sack" campaign of 1856. With charismaless divider Hill at the helm, and Young, Handsome, Capable Barack waiting in the wings, whoever is Secretary of State would be president in no time. There is hope for you after all, Son-of-a-millworker John Edwards!
@Lionel Hutz Esq.: When you think about it, they have an awful lot in common... Arkansas; he has crazy kids, she has crazy brothers; the people that vote for them hate brown people (him-Mexicans, her-black guys named Barack); neither of them believe in "math" or "experts".
Oh yes! Please make this campaign last forever and ever and ever. I hope to see Hillz and Barry duke it out until McAncient dies of old age, if he hasn't already.
I have no idea why those 60% are considered "retards." By my crazy math, neither Hillary nor Obama has the 2025 delegates they need to win. So long as no one has the magic number of delegates, there is no reason for either candidate to drop out of the race.
@AgentBristow:
Me thinks AgentBristow was in the 15% response category. Just a hunch.
@AgentBristow:
Reality has no place in politics. It's all about the perception.
30% of Democrats think Ron Paul is dynamite!
@The Real JR: To amuse the Kotakuites.
