Ha ha, it turns out that Hillary Clinton even lies with her lying about her harrowing overseas adventures. First she says she once ran screaming through the streets of Tuzla smeared with the blood of Bosnian snipers as she singlehandedly brought peace to Northern Ireland; then she says she was the first president's wife to visit a war zone since Eleanor Roosevelt. Wrong again, Pantsuit! That honor goes to Pat Nixon, who visited Vietnam with Sinbad way back in 1969.
According to her biography, Mrs. Nixon went to South Vietnam and had tea with the President's wife. She also visited an orphanage and a hospital.
The [July 1969 South Vietnam] visit marked the first time that a First Lady had been in a combat zone, although another First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt, had also visited troops on her numerous travels to England and throughout the South Pacific, Australia, and New Zealand during World War II.
Burn! Hillary Rodham Clinton is totally burnt, by the lady whose husband was loved only by his cocker spaniel and who once called her "a wonderful stenographer."
Wrong Again, Sen. Clinton. It Was Pat Nixon. [The New Nixon]

Comments
She meant she went there as the first 'first lady of the night'.
Why isn't Pat Nixon running for president? Sounds like she's qualified.
But they were both wearing cloth coats!
...can this possibly get any better? Well maybe she could drop-out!
OK, I just want to note that a "misstatement" is "I was there Tuesday", when I was, in fact, there Wednesday. Or that there were 1000 people there when there were in fact 1500 or 500. What HIllz did is MAKE SHIT UP. This is James-Frey-memoir-class BS.
And she is trying to divert attention by harping on what Obama's preacher said, which a whole lot of people agree with. Plus, she has now dedicded, when she has to go to working class Pennsylvania, to paint Obama as the radical, scary, Black liberal guy, when she was the liberal a few months ago when that served her purposes.
She is far worse than Ashley Alexandra/Kristen, because at least AA/K i shonest about what she is and what she does and asks up front "Ok, baby, who do you want me to be for you today?" when she takes your money. Hillz just pretends that is not what she is doing.
GRRRR
Didn't McCain's wife attempt a daring prison break for Walnuts! when he was at the Hanoi Hilton?
oh, and I love Pat's dress.
Little known fact. While she was there, Pat Nixon also lead the surge that broke the back of the NVA at the siege of Khe Sahn. After being married for years to Nixon, she said combat in Vietnam was a relitively serene experience.
But, like many Americans at the time, Pat was fleeing Richard Nixon, so it shouldn't count.
Good thing they can fix that adam's apple nowadays. It's a dead give-a-way. Of course this doesn't help Pat at all.
@Doglessliberal: James Frey seems only apropos. Hilz's memoir, should she choose to undertake it, should be titled "A Million Little Pieces of Shit."
When I saw at the bottom of this post that it was from a blog called 'the New Nixon', I figured it was devoted to Hillary (but I wrong).
Anyway, this comment from the original blog post deserves reprinting here:

Isn't it odd how closely Clinton's fanciful tale resembles what is written here about Pat Nixon's visit?
"whisked from the airport to the Presidential Palace in a helicopter that seemed to go straight up out of range of possible sniper fire and then plummeted between the trees of [President] Thieu's offices"
Someone ask Mrs. Clinton whether she's been reading the biographies of previous First Ladies…..
Who is that ugly man that Richard Nixon is dancing with?
OK, but Obama said he was a PROFESSOR when in fact he was a LECTURER.
If Hillary said that, there'd be a gazillion videos on YouTube about it!
Obama is sooo lucky he's black, I swear.
Ha! I love the "It's Pat!" You's funny, SKS.
Ok. After reading this article on Hillary's association with The Family/Fellowship (and this and this), my knees buckled and I momentarily genuflected to our new Clintonian Overlords. I thought that maybe my Jesus and I would have to form a Unicornitopia somewhere in the US Virgin Islands but then I reasoned that if he's winning, doesn't that mean he's part of some more secretive and powerful ubercult?
"WRONG AGAIN, PANTSUIT"
Would make a great bumper sticker. Or maybe a name for a cover band.
Guys, come one. Moral equivalence... Semantics... Moral equivalence... Semantics... Moral equivalence... Semantics...
Did I cover all of the Clintonian talking points, or is there something else?
@queeraselvis: you know, nonfiction writing is so nmuch easier if you don't worry about the "truth" or "facts". I might whip off a memoir over my lunch hours this week, myself. That time I was on an international goodwill tour with Angelina and brokered peace between warring Afghani tribes comes to mind as a nice opening chapter.
Yeah, but Hillary suppied the gun that Jane Fonda used to pepper Pat Nixon with sniper fire as she got off the plane in 'Nam.
So there.
@Mr. Dick Sprinkles: yeah, I sgree. Being Black is a real plus in modern-day America. I often wish I could change from an employed, financially-OK, white woman to a poor Black man just for the advantages I'd gain. I mean, these people just are not greatful for the boon they have been given. Just ask Pat Buchanan--he can tell you about it.
The most disturbing part of this story is that there is, apparently, a blog devoted to Nixon and his legacy.
One without irony and snark I mean.
Need I point out that while Pat Nixon lost Vietnam, Hillary won Bosnia?
@mahousu: What? I heard that Hillary won Bosnia and Vietnam while creating social security under heavy sniper fire.
@Doglessliberal: Oops, perhaps my sarcasm-fu wasn't turned up high enough. No trolling intended.
it doesn't count if you steal from dead folks though, right?
@Doglessliberal: Chris Rock jokes that when asked if they would ever change places with any black man whatsoever, most white folk say no. Hillary's situation may be different.
@Mr. Dick Sprinkles: Obama is sooo lucky he's black, I swear.
Yea, if I were black there are so many more thing I could do. Like hang out here.
[that was the 'winning' find when a buddy and I held an informal contest to find the place you were most likely to be shot on Google Maps streetview. And yes, that's a neon sign for Colt 45.]
@Mr. Dick Sprinkles: no, no I got you were joking, I was just snarking back. Might be a bit too bitter this a.m. Sorry!
@Mr. Dick Sprinkles:
Cracker, please.
@Pop Socket:
"When you're white, the sky's the limit. When you're black, the limit's the sky!
@CapeClod I remember Khe Sahn, wasn't there, but still remember on this 40th year since Pat Nixon,Pat Robertson, Pat Buccanen, And Pat Paulson kicked the VC back to the DMZ.
When Clinton lied, her candidacy died.
@balthus: If only that were true.
@Doglessliberal: Except James Frey was a drug addict that exaggerated his perils as a drug addict to sell books. Clinton is a politician exaggerating her experience when experience is the basis of her campaign-- while running for the most powerful position in the world.
While they both exaggerate, I think there should be a little more outrage over Clinton that Frey. But those same women that returned their books to Amazon in anger after finding out that Frey exaggerated are supporting Clinton and saying that Obama lied about being a Professor when he was simply a lecturer (or a professor).
@magneticfields: Let's see: Hilz started out as a Goldwater supporter, before she realized she could get more tail as a moderate lefty.
Perchance she's just been re-channeling her inner Nixon, after learning that Nancy Reagan was famous for being able to suck the chrome off of studio heads' heads. ?
maybe if hillary went to church more often like barry, she would know not to lie so much.
liar, liar, your bulletproof pantsuit is on fire.
"Hillary Clinton Caught In Millionth Bosnian Lie!"
That headline is misleading. It's not the millionth, only the fifth or sixth. And it's not a lie if you truly believe in your heart that it is true; hence, it's a mere embellishment, not an outright fabrication.
And the good people of Pennsyltucky will reward her experience of honesty with a forty point trouncing over the Black Islamo-dude. So, quit changing the subject from the topics that are near and dear to the hearts of Pennsyltuckians everwhere because they'll see through the smoke and mirrors employed by the Hussein-Rezko ticket in their failed attempt to thwart democracy.
Yours truly
Lanny Davis
@TJBeck: Great pic. How'd you know I'm originally from the City of Brotherly Love?
Isn't it just beautiful there in Northwest Philly? There's no place like it. Except maybe Southwest Philly, Kensington, West Philly, North Philly, Logan/Ogontz, Tioga/Nicetown, Point Breeze, Pennsport, Camden.... Yes sir, Philly's ghettos are just brimming with lucky black men like Obama! Hillary's camp has every right to complain.
TJ Beck,
Well done, WELL DONE!
King Kong Deli is so many awesomes that I can barely contain myself.
@Cape Clod: Priceless.
@mahousu: Can we give Bosnia back?
@2goatsforonecow: Sorry. Pottery Barn rule.
@Canuckledragger: You are confused. This is Wonkette. Jezebel is thataway. Feel free to go over there and join the mass Hillary-and-thus-all-women-are-victims pity party already in progress.
@Mr. Dick Sprinkles: I grew up in Philly and then in a close-in suburb! Lots of us out here, I guess.
@Doglessliberal: So Bush "misspoke" about the WMD? And does that mean that Clinton "misvoted" because of it?
Of course this is now #4689 of "Not a big deal", Clinton and her supporters say.
But it's important to note new numbers of Hillary 'supporters' who say they won't vote for Obama -it's rising rapidly and now stands at 37%- in comparison to what Obama supporters think of Hillary.
I now deem that number to be the new HATE METER for the country.
Watch her go...
@Guppy06: Now you are getting it. You should apply for a job as a campaign advisor.
Bullet flies
Hill'ry lies
The DNC, it weeps
Who knew Pat Nixon had so much foreign policy experience?
