Sinbad Has Officially Ruined Hillary Clinton

It is truly remarkable that the most effective dismisser of a Hillary Clinton lie this campaign season has been Sinbad, the comedian who can most generously be described as "the poor man's Arsenio Hall." Sinbad — with his role in challenging Clinton about the nature of a 1996 joint trip to Bosnia — has courageously realized that if he can't be funny himself, he can make Hillary Clinton the funniest person in the world. Hillary said just this week about the trip, "I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base." Now watch this delightful piece of YouTube that is making the rounds. Maybe... maybe that little girl on the tarmac was packing heat! Throw her under the bus! [via Washington Post]

  • I've always wanted to see a production of 'Othello' with Sinbad as the title character.

  • I don't think Senator Obama's words are superior to Senator Clinton's leadership and decision-making determining where to eat next.

  • Coming soon: More Forrest Gump moments from the former First Lady. The line of Pinocchios forms here.

  • Yeah well Obama got more delegates from Bosnia because everyone there is black, therefore it doesn't count.

  • Just another senior moment. It doesn't matter because Obama didn't say it.

  • Since Hillary Clinton is such a big lying, maybe she could lie about ever running for president in the first place... I'd believe she never ran. Hillary Rod-WHO?!?

  • This is just like how that guy on Food Network got fired for exaggerating how he prepared Princess Di's wedding cake, except he hosted a show on cable and Clinton is running for the most powerful office in the world.

  • Yawn, wake me when the bombing of Iran begins.

  • Hils Willard Clinton:
Sinbad... shit; I'm still stuck with Sinbad... Every time I think I'm gonna wake up back in the shit. When I was home after my first VIP tour, it was worse. I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to my Bubbha, not even after he got a blow job from an intern. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into Bosnia. I'm here a week now... waiting for a mission... getting softer; every minute I stay in this room, I get weaker, and every minute the Serbs squat in the bush, they gets stronger. Each time I looked around, the walls moved in a little tighter.

  • But what happened to Sheryl Crow? IS SHE OKAY?

  • @Senator Boomdog: She got cancer from the sniper fire.

  • Barack's grandmother wants to know what's more dangerous than going on a trip with Big, Black Sinbad. Hillary is very brave indeed.

  • All she says is that she "remembers" landing under sniper fire. I remember a lot of shit. I remember thousands of tiny Jiminey Crickets eating the skin off my arms. I remember walking barefoot on a path of lava. I remember a candlelit conversation in which George Washington Carver recounted to me the sexual uses of the peanut which he left out of his published lists.

    Don't do drugs, kids.

  • True story: I worked at Sinbad's production company office as a temp for 5 weeks when he was "big." He and his family were some of the nicest people I have ever met.

Wouldn't be awesome if there was a sex scandal involving Hillary, Sinbad, a bottle of wine, and a bombed out Yugo.

  • @Eduwank: The only thing black about Sinbad is cellphone. For serious, he is the yaller-est brotha I ever seen. He makes Barack look like Wesley Snipes during a new moon.

  • I meant HIS cellphone. I couldn't think of anything singular and black he might be packin'...

  • @PissedOffJester:

According to the bastion of knowledege, Wikipedia, Sinbad beat Dennis Miller out in some competition, so he's OK in my book.

  • WOW - After watching that video clip, I'd say Hillary is one COOL character. I mean, sniper fire all around her and she still takes time to greet a little orphan and give her some words of encouragement? How can ANYONE doubt her nerves after seeing that? Fuck Sinbad that cowardly dog. He was somewhere behind Hillary.

The image of Hillary just striding down that tarmac. I'm impressed. She was as cool as if there were no snipers at all. In your face Obama.

  • Hey - maybe the Clinton campaign can get James Cameron to spice up that clip a little. You know, a few killer robots and explosions conveniently planted in the background and all of a sudden, Hillary would actually be donwplaying what happened out there.

  • Has anyone considered sending Sinbad out to find the weapons of mass destruction?

  • But will Sindbad be competiting for Bill Richardson for a position in Obama's cabinet?

  • Have Hillary's people brought up yet how underhanded and unfair it is of Obama's campaign to bring this up? That is all that is missing from this episode.

  • @southerndem: The fact that Obama has actually done a drug other than whatever mutation of The Rush Limbaugh Hobby Kit makes Hillary clap like a seal only makes me trust him more. Hilz wades through imagined sniper fire every bit as effectiveley as she slept through the whole counterculture.

  • Did she mention the part where she got away by offering Sinbad a double sawbuck? That works in Florida.

  • If you get the special edition DVD of this clip, you can see in the bonus features a deleted scene where that littl girl Hillary is kissing, is actually a guerilla in disguise. It shows the girl/disguised murderer, rip their mask off and pull a knife. Hillary does a quick jui juitsu move and rams it in his eye just before the Secret Service blows his head off. Pretty intense man. Hillary is one tough character.

  • And yet the MSM is still talking about Rev. Wright-- not this.

If anything determines what kind of president you will be it is what your pastor said 5 years ago, not you lying about a major incident in your claimed experience.

  • Hillary in Tuzla: A Harrowing Tale.

It really is a cinematic masterpiece.

  • She should travel with her own green screen and customized Kevlar vest.

  • Oh, everyone lies. Ministers and priests lie. [richarddawkins.net],2394,Lying-for-Jesus,Richard-Dawkins

Obama has lied about his legislative experience in Illinois. [www.houstonpress.com] [you have to read at least half the story by this reporter who used to cover Obama in Illinois -- basically, the Senate majority leader wanted to be a king maker so he had Obama's name put on lots of bills].

Still, it's sad if Clinton outright lied. But memories are convenient, e.g., Obama's relationship with Rezko, the extent of which is still unfolding.

And every person I've ever met has lied -- what only differs in people is the extent to which they do it.

  • @Laura Ingalls Wildest: do you lie, then, too?

  • "For those of you that have been on C-17s..."

She's that annoying chick in your dorm building that won't shut up about her semester in Latvia!

  • :Now that I think about it,I seem to recall that it was actually Scott Baio shooting a whipped topping machine gun our way before he jumped into a peddle driven Lincoln driven by Matthew Modine. He,unfortunately, got away."

  • Damn you Wonkette and YouTube! What is to become of American politics if you can't lie through your fucking teeth without some idiot posting a video that contradicts your entire story!

    Damn you!

  • @Laura Ingalls Wildest: "And every person I've ever met has lied -- what only differs in people is the extent to which they do it."

On the face of it this is absurd. Unless you mean by "extent" something like, what was at stake, what was the motivation, what was the cost, etc. I mean, me lying about where the change on the counter went, or spitzer lying in his promise to never cheat on his wife, or hillz lying repeatedly about her experience in order to denigrate a fellow democrat and to play the repub scare tactic game - in order to win the most important job in the world yeah, there's a bit of different "extent" there. Hillz is a lying evil snake robot monster. Whereas its likely everyone you've ever met are not.

  • The media was sniping at her.@sashimi: With her legs in the air...

  • To be fair, was Tuzla the only place they landed, and was that greeting at the initial landing point? It's obviously the airport in Tuzla, because the plane's in the background, but they might have landed at more than one place in Bosnia; you really didn't want to travel by road there.

  • The Washington Post tomorrow will run a front page story on how both Obama and Clinton have padded their resumes. [www.washingtonpost.com]

The lead paragraphs are really funny, because Obama ended up taking lots of credit for the immigration bill, when all he did was tag along to the press conference.

Anyone here ever pad their resume?

  • @dupontd: I'm sorry, but everything you've written is a rant.

Read tomorrow's Post about Obama and how he falsely took credit for the immigration bill.

Read the Illinois story about how he got credit for bills he had little to do with. [www.houstonpress.com]

You are being incoherent. "Hillz is a lying evil snake robot monster." And that sentence suggests you need to take your medication.

  • @Laura Ingalls Wildest: The Houston Press is pretty old "news," and has been covered here before: [wonkette.com]

  • @Laura Ingalls Wildest: Really? Pointing out that your whole argument was based on usage of the vague term 'extent' and then unpacking the term and showing that the 'extent' to which clinton lies is incredibly important counts as a rant? I'm sure it hurts to be exposed but its hardly a "rant" to do so.

I'm still uninterested in the "houston press" bit, its pure conjecture and "conspiracy theory" stuff.

I find it above hilarious that you point to an article that once again shows hillary to be a liar as some sort of argument that its okay that hillary is a liar.

I am not being incoherent when I call her a lying evil snake robot monster. Along with hilbots, obamatons, paultards, etc there's a pretty well established practice on this site of using silly adjectives to describe people. So while it may seem that I'm "off my meds", I re-submit that hillary is a well-evidenced
    1. Liar
    2. Evil person
    3. Snake - see #1 and #2
    4. Robotic - see any speech by her
    5. Monster - see the way she tries to destroy the democratic party to gain the nomination.

But thanks for the personal attack!

  • @Laura Ingalls Wildest: That's true -- and McCain hates Obama for running out on the immigration bill. Between that and Exelon he absolutely lies about his role. And that Houston Press story, I'm amazed that didn't infiltrate the media more -- made some big blogs but didn't go any further, although it had some very solid stuff in there. None of this is in any way incriminating, but neither is a lot of the political maneuvering for which Hillary is so regularly condemned. Why is Obama's similar corner-cutting so acceptable (correct, even!) when these background checks come out? I don't care that either of them are slimy politicians, but there's this strange defensiveness surrounding him...

  • @dupontd: They are both lying, ambitious politicians! The HP article tried to at least enter that into the arena for Obama, but people got so defensive about this 46-year-old male politician that the big press probably didn't want to deal with it. It's a big problem with Obama and McCain. Reporters really, really don't like going negative on either. These images we have of either as these saints... strange.

  • Not only that, but he was never assassinated and raised from the dead, as once suggested. That was Doug Henning.

  • Not to belabor a point from a week ago, but Hillary's attempt at deflecting the Sinbad question with "He's a comedian, you know..." just seems totally backward.

Isn't that the point? Isn't that the reason this is a story? He's a comedian. You played up the dangerous Bosnia trip, and Sinbad, a comedian, didn't even think it was all that scary. Yes, Hillary, we KNOW he's a comedian. If you're going to spin something in order to convince people you're going to be a competent President, the least you could do is spin the proper direction.

If a Clinton loses the ability to spin a story, what's left?

Along with her popularity with racists, Hillary has also cornered the 'liar liar pants on fire' vote.

  • Liar, liar pantsuits on fire!

And on a serious note, everyone PLEASE email the Youtube link to this video to everyone you know in either PA or NC, and urge them to support Obama! Also, if you have the email address of any superdelegates, email it to them as well.

    Obama '08! Yes We Can!

  • @JimNewell:
I realize that Senator Unicorn is an ambitious pol (who isn't at this level.) What gets me about Hils is that she just took for granted that the Demrat Nom was hers without doing any of the real work to garner that--as much her fault as her inept campaign team's.

It's really more symptomatic of the gap between what Hilsbot sez and what she delivers. Claims of able leadership vs the reality of Larry Curley and Moe ineptness. Or James Bond style mission with Delta Force vs. actual USO tour with Sinbad.

A mean part of me is actually enjoying Tracy Flick Clinton's comeuppance as a (probably ignored by those who shouldn't ignore it) lesson to those who have all the ambition but none of the ability to actually do the job.

  • @JimNewell:
Obama as a saint now? Not so much-McCain, YEP! It's crazy what he's allowed to get away with..

  • @ManchuCandidate: With the Clinton campaign, you needed wings to stay above the bullshit...

  • @ManchuCandidate: Yeah but even this "taking for granted" doesn't really bother me as much more than a political strategy. Her tactics can be criticized for being poorly plotted, and she did ride all of her hopes on that inevitabity aura. Act as if it is yours, that you and your husband are the Democratic party and the only pols professional enough to take the White House back. It's a strong image, definitely sure to offend some, and probably would've worked against anything else besides the unbelievably brilliant Obama grassroots effort. But it doesn't really strike me as anything more than a political stake, neither does Obama's clean slate approach. I don't think either is nearly as qualified as they say they are, but it doesn't offend me if they exaggerate like crazy people.

  • @Jumpin: Did she have/Any cooties in there?

  • @Laura Ingalls Wildest: When did Wonkette turn into a light pink version of that garish hillaryis44.com nut-fest? I come here for my delicious sarcasm fest after a long day of surfing the alternatively illiterate and downright delusional, but in all cases, (like yours) totally un-funny comments on other sites. Here we keep it real. Real sarcaso-cynical-light-hearted-but-cut-you-to-the-bone funny. So if you are here just to be all "HRC is woman, hear her shriek, and BO is all sleazy Rezko, yadda, yadda," please go back to that droolfest at pepto.com.

  • How many Washington Post pinnochios does one need to get a free endless soup & salad meal at the Olive Garden?

  • @DancyPants: So would you say, "Don't be Laura Ingalls LAME-est?"
    Ahem.

  • @Laura Ingalls Wildest: There are fucking Clintonistas here. Someone get out the Raid!

  • @Publican: That's actually a paradox ... since the H.Clinton health care system is based on giving people Raid. The "Clintonistas" would just be getting what they're entirely voting for --- anyway!

  • @ponies!: I would totally say that. Except that I cannot say that because with a screenname like "DancyPants," there's, like, way too much of a glass houses thing going on there.

  • hey! does anyone else like dr. who?

  • look, i hate shrillary as much as the next guy, but i can see how she could compare a trip with sinbad and his "jokes" with being under sniper fire. i have felt assaulted by his comedy in the past. just sayin'

  • So now I see the hillary explainers are speculating she was on some secret flight nobody knows about, one that was shot at, one where she had to run across the tarmac to her car, perhaps it was her secret mission to arrest Serbian war criminals in person... give me a break... the New York Times had a detailed account of her visit to Bosnia that day, no mention of sniper fire or running to a car.. but lots of comments from American soldiers stationed there at the time who were more eager to see Sinbad and Cheryl Crow than her, or if given the chance to talk to Clinton would have unloaded on her about her husband sending them to Bosnia in the first place.

  • @Packherd: But without the obligatory enlightening lesbian experience, thank God.

  • @Laura Ingalls Wildest: I completely sympathize with your problem here. After all, "robot" isn't even an adjective. "Robotic snake monster" would have been a far better choice, I think.

  • That tarmac footage would play better with the Buffy theme.

And if qualifications are so important, why don't we recruit civil servants through competitive exams? Shit, they're both 35 and citizens.

  • @JimNewell: Haven't you heard? "They said it couldn't be done."

I don't know who told him that he couldn't win any primaries, my money would be on an in-law who wanted him to get a job, but I'm sure that most people thought this would be a race between Obama and Hillary. That's why he announced, then jumped to second in the polls.

  • @JimNewell: The defensiveness isn't really strange. I mean, I totally felt it rising up in me as I read the Houston Press article, in spite of the fact that I was just telling someone earlier today that it would be crazy to think Obama was anything close to saintly -- but I think a big chunk of it is just a knee-jerk emotional response. He's tapped into a lot of positive emotion, and it's easy to get sucked into, because it's so great to think that maybe, just maybe, we're going to get something right for a change.

That said, I also think some of the defensiveness is justified when you look at the things Obama's been attacked for: Sound bites of his crazy pastor? He and his wife secretly not loving America? Consensual plagiarism? The Rezko thing has been pretty thoroughly vetted at this point and hasn't borne any real fruit. And the truth is that the Houston Press story would carry more weight if it hadn't been printed in an alternative weekly and didn't hinge on a pre-established beef between Obama and the writer.

  • @JimNewell:
That Houston Press article should have been titled "I and Barack Obama".

It's a good thing the writer knew how to open a sentence with a clause, otherwise half of them would start with the word 'I'.

It must have been hard, though, for the writer, living on 19k a year after a bad breakup, with only "cell phone numbers for Jesse Jackson, his son Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., and David Axelrod, who now serves as Obama's senior presidential campaign adviser" to keep him company.

  • @JimNewell: Sorry, I don't see the Hillary and Obama campaigns as morally equivalent. Obama responded to the most serious challenge his campaign has faced with an ambitious speech on race. If Hillary were to declare tomorrow that she is going to give a major speech explaining the implications of her candidacy for gender in the US, or for anything, really, I might believe her campaign is at least partly about something bigger than herself. But she has not given any evidence to back that idea, so far.

  • @magneticfields said: Obama responded to the most serious challenge his campaign has faced with an ambitious speech on race.

...then he released a photo and a thank-you note which he obtained from his pastor, showing that Bill had met him at a public gathering, even though the Wright story came all from the media and Hillary's campaign has been completely silent on the subject.

Oh, and some Air Force dude, who had down-mouthed Hillary in the past, he said that Bill was questioning Obama's patriotism.

  • Well, *I'm* depressed. It looks like Hills will never give up and boff me or boff me and give up, whichever. Hills! Forsake these lame-o lies and I will shower you in rose petals. Whe shall trip to the moon with gossamer wings and/or paint the town, possibly simultaneously. *Sigh* But it's just one of those things. One of those crazy, crazy things.

@ladymacbeth: Yes, in grad school. I remember being smitten by Nyssa, however you spell her name. 'Modern' Doctor Who not so much.

  • Er, I meant *gigolo* grad school. GGS! GGS! Up school! Ahem.

  • @Jumpin: "Hillary, duck, please, Duck! We're taking incoming questions." Fortuanately, the Army has some wack weapons that user lasers or radar or something that can pinpoint the source of questions and return fire with loads of bullshit. The Clinton campaign now has this technology.
