'She Is A Monster'
Ha ha, a day after Clinton campaign spokesperson Howard Wolfson basically called Barack Obama "Ken Starr," Obama aide Samantha Power called Hillary Clinton "a monster" in an interview withThe Scotsmanand then tried to keep the reporter from printing it. The "monster" remark was a curious slip of the tongue for an incredibly accomplished journalist who has conducted thousands of interviews and knows precisely when and how comments are considered on or off the record. But whatever, being an Obama supporter and hence a pussy, Power had to go and apologize.
She issued a statement saying she "deeply regretted" her comments. "It is wrong for anyone to pursue this campaign in such negative and personal terms," she said. "I apologize to Senator Clinton and to Senator Obama, who has made very clear that these kinds of expressions should have no place in American politics."
This is all complete nonsense, of course. Immediately after Obama lost Ohio, everybody talked about how Obama really had to get tough on Hillary Clinton without tarnishing his own above-the-fray image. What better surrogate to spread the old "say or do anything to win" meme than a straight-talking Irish lass who happens to let slip in an interview with the foreign press that Hillary is "a monster...who is stooping to anything"?
