The White House’s Video Press Release

by wonkette

You may have been wondering why we haven’t said anything about the whole Bush informercial flap: the thing about the White House’s “video press release” that was presented as a news report by local stations across the country. Well, to be honest, we didn’t see what the big deal was.

Come on: The media? Compliant in a government ad campaign? Omg! Surely, Secretary Ridge would tell us to duct tape ourselves into our homes before the Bush administration would ever use the mainstream press as a vehicle for a shaping public opinion in their favor.

Then we read the charges levied against the White House a little closer: Turns out the law they may be violating is against “covert propaganda.” Ah. That explains it. If only administration had stuck with the overt propaganda. . .

Also, if you are a new commenter, your comment may never appear. This is probably because we hate you.
