Okay, we’re frightened: CIA director Porter Goss today told an audience at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library that, uhm, his job is hard. “The jobs I’m being asked to do, the five hats that I wear, are too much for this mortal,” Goss said. “I’m a little amazed at the workload.” Not to nit-pick or anything, but get up to fucking speed. There’s not room for much of a learning curve, really. This is also less than confidence inspiring: Asked about newly installed intelligence director John Negroponte, Goss said the postition has “‘a huge amount of ambiguity in it…. I don’t know by law what my direct relationship is with John Negroponte,’ Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld or other top officials involved with intelligence.” We think we speak for the nation when we say: Please start reading the memos.
Before we all die.
