Obama a Super God, or Merely "Iowa Snow King"?
Obama's win last night didn't send just Chris Matthews into hyperbole about The Greatest Thing In Galactic History. Wait until you see the blogs! THE BLOGS! Also, this German guy called Obama the "Iowa snow king," but that was as an insult.
I'm surprised Andrew Sullivan even was able to type:
This really was history tonight. To win so many white voices, and bring together so many minorities, and use the unifying language that leaves the toxins of race and partisanship behind: This was the moment America stopped being afraid.
This was the America we have missed and have found again.
Know hope.
Obama's finest speeches do not excite. They do not inform. They don't even really inspire. They elevate. They enmesh you in a grander moment, as if history has stopped flowing passively by, and, just for an instant, contracted around you, made you aware of its presence, and your role in it. He is not the Word made flesh, but the triumph of word over flesh, over color, over despair.
Arianna Huffington HERSELF on how Barack survived those attacks that only three people cared about:
Be afraid of Obama, they warned us. Be afraid of something new, something different. He might meet with our enemies. His middle name is Hussein. He went to a madrassa school. A vote for him would be like rolling the dice, the former president said on Charlie Rose .
And the people of Iowa heard him, and chose to roll the dice.
It srsly was a great speech, exciting and timely and pretty. I'm looking forward to the President Barack "hoping" our troops out of Iraq and a healthcare bill through Congress. But watch how pathetic someone sounds trying to argue against him. Granted this is a German , so wtf above all else:
But the Iowa snow king has scant hope of reaching the White House. He's too young, too inexperienced, too vague, and for many Americans, too black. His magic words about the era of change, of hope, of an America he will unite -- all that will evaporate like morning mist.
Eat my German shit, SNOW KING OF IOWA LAND. Your snow kingdom is beseiged, your black corn shall see no harvest in this whitest of autumns!
