Breaking: Was Gonzales... Less Than Truthful???
In the first reported case ever of John Negroponte being vaguely (if inadvertently) involved in something that could, in the long run, maybe be vaguely good for democracy, a letter from him presents yet more proof that Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is a liar.
Gonzales told the Judiciary Committee last year that there had never been any "serious disagreement" about the warrantless wiretapping program.
This week, he told the same committee that, oh yeah, there had been some serious disagreement about, uh... thisotherintelligence program. Yeah... someotheractivities caused a big argument between Justice and the White House. Butnotthe Terrorist Surveillance Program. No, definitely not that, it was this other thing.
The Ashcroft hospital visit and the emergency White House briefing of eight congressmen were about the vitally important, uh, Schmerrorist Schmurveillance Schmogram. Yeah, that's it.
But yesterday evening Newsweekposted a letter from then-intelligence director Negroponte to Dennis Hastert about that March 10 meeting to discuss the Terrorist Surveillance Program.
HA HA HA WE CAUGHT YOU LYING FREDO NOW YOUHAVERESIGN THAT IS THE RULE! WE WIN!
