Perino: Our Only Crime Is Being Too Ethical
The White House deleted a couple million emails that may or may not be related to their mysterious firing of a buncha federal prosecutors. The emails -- and here's the tricky bit -- were sent from private RNC-sponsored non-government accounts , which is kinda-sorta illegal. But hey, sometimes you accidentally subvert the Democratic process when you're trying oh-so-hard to follow the law as you purposefully misunderstand it.
Perino insisted the aides only used the Republican accounts out of an abundance of caution to make sure they did not conduct political business on official government time, which would be a violation of the Hatch Act. She said that any deletion of e-mails from the Republican accounts was sparked by confusion over a White House policy that has since been clarified.
They wereconfused, ok? Haveyoutried to read the "Presidential Records Act"? Shit's outdated, it's a relic of the '70s -- the President has an "iPod" now, jeez.
