President Cheney to Rule for 4 Evil Android Years, 10,000 Hu-Man Years
The New YorkSunproves today that it is demonstrably crazier than any paper DC has to offer -- man up, WashTimes-- with one brilliant, utterly insane house editorial. The topic, as it will be in every editorial you read for the next 18 months, is the 2008 presidential race. Their exciting and bold idea?
Uh... just take a look.
Lawrence Kudlow wrote a column a while back saying he hoped President Bush asked Vice President Cheney to run for president in 2008. It was a fine idea then and it still is -- not because the current field is particularly weak, but because Mr. Cheney is so much more experienced and shrewd a figure, one who could help settle some of the arguments about the Bush years in favor of Mr. Bush. A White House aiming to get Mr. Cheney elected could also avoid some of the hazards that befall lame-ducks -- drift, brain drain, irrelevance. Such a campaign might lift Mr. Cheney 's own standing in the polls.
Of course! Because the more the American people see of Dick Cheney -- gritting his teeth, scowling, firing rifles at genial old friends, strangling innocent deer to death on his front lawn, LURKING IN BUSHES WAITING TO POUNCE -- the more they love him, as we've seen time and time again over the course of the administration. If we got to see him out there on the stump, campaigning away, warning us that if we don't vote him he'll release the Africanized killer bees he has stored under the Naval Observatory, well, his approval ratings ought to climb up to atleastthe level of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's!
