McCain Was Talking About the Second Life Version of Iraq
Caught repeatedly telling obvious lies about the nightmare situation in Iraq, Senator John WALNUTS! McCain today argued that he was only talking about the virtual fantasy version of Iraq in the popular online game Second Life .
On CNN and talk radio this week, McCain claimed U.S. General David Petraeus rides around Iraq in an unarmed jeep and that many neighborhoods of Baghdad are so safe that everybody walks around like it's Paris in springtime. Military commanders in Iraq found the statements hilariously absurd, Petraeus' office said he "never goes out in anything less than an up-armored humvee," and ex-General Barry McCaffrey said "no Iraqi government official, coalition soldier, diplomat [or] reporter could walk the streets of Baghdad without heavily armed protection."
"Americans know I was clearly speaking of the fantasy Iraq in Second Life ," McCain's avatar said today from the virtual world. "As more deranged Americans spend more of their first lives immersed in the banal pretend world of Second Life , we can all agree that the virtual Iraq is doing very well indeed despite what the virtual mainstream media says. In my avatar form, I give much more 'straight talk' than I am currently able to provide in First Life. Also, in Second Life I'm the GOP front-runner."
