A Very Special Message From Senator Joe Biden
Hello, I'm Joe Biden, and I'd like to wish you all a very happy Black History Month. As some of you may know, some of my best friends are black, and I appreciate the opportunity to celebrate them each and every year for 28, and occasionally 29 days.
While it's true that I'm known to celebrate Delaware's slave-owning roots every now and then, I like to think that ties into the whole Colored People History Month thing. I mean, why just remember the good stuff?
But those dark days are behind us, at least when I'm making a public appearance north of the Mason-Dixon. Today, I'm proud to say, you can't walk into a 7-11 without seeing an articulate and clean black man.
And when I am president, I promise to give these clean, articulate black people a couple days in March, so that their history month is as long as everyone else's. Of course, March is Women's History Month , so maybe we can spend those crossover days celebrating Oprah.
