Fred F. Fielding, who helped a lot of Reagan Administration criminals not go to prison forever, is the new White House counsel.Lightweights like Harriet Miers are presumably unprepared for possible impeachments.

Fielding was John Dean’s No. 1 during Watergate and Ronald Reagan’s chief counsel from 1981 to 1986. Oh yeah, and he was probably the real “Deep Throat,” although we’ve never bought that story because he’s not CIA … or is he? Welcome back, old crook!
