What a great life. - WonketteTo “save money,” Metro bosses are thinking about just replacing the escalators with regular stairs.

It apparently costs $51,000 a year to keep each escalator broken. The Metro board wants to replace some of those broken escalators with stairs — so you might have one broken escalator and one set of stairs, rather than two broken escalators.

These are bold plans for a bold era.
