Greg Piper draws our attention to CNBC’s “Whine and Cheese,” a cable talk show segment where the guests drink. Why weren’t we told? More important: Why weren’t we called? Sure, we don’t know that much about, uhm, whatever the piece is about, but after a few glasses of Chardonnay, we don’t care. Sure, it’s a bit of a programming gamble, but they’ve got a leg up in the contest to score the first Jenna Bush interview. A fringe benefit to the show’s producers: If you drink enough, you see the ratings double.
