David Dickerson, a longshot (as in no chance whatsoever) candidate for Senate in Maryland, has set the bar for 2006 campaign implosions. The rugged “citizen candidate” has been brought up on rape charges after he “allegedly ordered a mail order bride from Latvia and repeatedly assaulted her.”

David’s wife is a legal permanent resident from Europe as well, so understanding how to reconcile cultural differences with different religion and thinking has been a part of his life.
Little known fact: In Latvia, the word for “vicious beating” is rekoncilia.
