Special Prosecutors: They’re Only Human

by dlat

And sometimes they engage in stupid, even criminal, conduct:

The former federal prosecutor who succeeded Kenneth Starr as independent counsel in the Whitewater investigation turned himself in yesterday on a charge of stalking a former companion, the police said. The man, Robert W. Ray, 46, of Long Branch, N.J., surrendered to the police in Manhattan.

This isn’t completely surprising to us. It makes sense that an independent counsel, forced to devote all his time and energy to a single case, might develop obsessive tendencies.

(And maybe even some weird fetishes. Is it true that Ken Starr is a panty-sniffer?)
