The Wonkette criminal intent operative writes with a tale of a personal encounter with the tiny terror of downtown:
I work in downtown DC, and one of our employees actually caught this guy trying to steal a laptop from our office. When confronted, he started crying. Our quick-thinking employee talked him into leaving the laptop in exchange for a bag of miniature Baby Ruths. He still hangs out outside our building most days.
So, some good advice: When someone tries to steal a piece of electronics equipment, offer miniature candy. Of course, we wouldn’t have this problem if we have government-regulated candy distribution centers.
