Through the challenges, the President has kept his human touch. Touring New Orleans last week, he met a man who had survived for days on canned goods before being evacuated to Utah. “Were you the only black man in Salt Lake City?” Bush asked.

The question here: what the hell is that quote supposed to illuminate? We’re no longer surprised by Bush’s privileged fratty obtuseness in dealing with race, but how does this demonstrate his “human touch?”

Though now that we think about it, was this guy the only Black guy in Salt Lake City? We don’t have too much trouble believing that one.

Hell, if Dave Chappelle had said it, you’d be calling it “astute” or “biting” or “wickedly funny” or something. And man, you should’ve been there when the President started his “White people be evacuating like this…” routine.
