*breaking* bomb scare in d.c.

by mweiss

No caps because there’s no immediate threat. Relax! But a little under an hour ago, D.C. police blocked off streets near the Capitol building due to what was first reported as a “suspicious package” found in a car. Now Reuters is saying that one of the men inside the vehicle claimed to be in possession of an “explosive device.” All e-mails to the Wonk account varying on the theme, “Yeah, an arrest warrant,” may be sent to Brit Hume at FOX News. Also, you can gear-shift down from fear to boredom again:

The Capitol and Senate and House of Representatives office buildings were not being evacuated, but a nearby commercial office building was cleared because of the incident.

Hola wonkerados.

To improve site performance, we did a thing. It could be up to three minutes before your comment appears. DON'T KEEP RETRYING, OKAY?

Also, if you are a new commenter, your comment may never appear. This is probably because we hate you.
