In wondering if the AP should apologize for labeling a black hurricane survivor with a shopping bag a “looter,” our doubt hinged on whether the wire service would also label white hurricane survivors with shopping bags as looters. Our doubt — on that issue — is erased:

We admit that there are other variables at play that could explain why pictures apparently portraying similar behaviors get such different descriptions, but, you know, we have some shopping to do.
