Introducing President Denny Hastert
See what happens when you go up against Average Joes: The Joes Strike Back?
In a sign of the continuing partisan division of the nation, more than two-in-five (42%) voters say that, if it is found that President Bush did not tell the truth about his reasons for going to war with Iraq, Congress should hold him accountable through impeachment.
Of course, when pollsters explain that a successful impeachment of President Bush would lead to President Cheney, we're sure this number drops. To overcome this obstacle, many on the impeachment bandwagon want to make it a prix fixe affair, impeaching Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and everyone else in one fell swoop, all the way down to, say, Judith Miller. Which would still leave a former high school wrestling coach in charge of the world's sole superpower. Once again, the Republicans seem about three steps ahead of their adversaries.— GREG BEATO
