I never watched The Apprentice season with Omarosa Manigault on it (the Internet tells me it was season one). I understand from cultural osmosis that she was a villain type person; I will take it on faith, given that she works in the Trump White House, that she is quite terrible and in fact The Worst. And yet The Daily Beast has a long, nice story sexplaining why everyone in the White House (except Donald Trump) hates Omarosa, and the reasons they can come up with are SOME SEXIST BULLSHIT (and doubtless also racist, #intersectional-styley; I will leave that to black people to suss out).

Back in March, Joy-Ann Reid wrote a long reported piece for the Daily Beast exploring why people are hating on Omarosa that was both filled with named sources and WASN’T SEXIST BULLSHIT. She spoke to black conservatives who had specific issues with Manigault: She’s a Democrat; she’s always pulling “bend the knee” nonsense with longtime black Republicans who should have been killed with kindness instead; and she works for Trump, who’s an out white supremacist, so she’s got a tough sell.

The Daily Beast’s follow-up to that, this thing, is a whole bunch of anonymous bitching about, like, “she interrupts a lot.” Let’s sexplore!

According to four sources in and outside the West Wing, the longtime Trump confidant is isolated inside 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue as she quietly plots against her fellow senior officials. Colleagues regularly complain about Manigault’s behavior and work ethic. She frequently derails internal meetings with irrelevant or counterproductive interjections and she’s earned a reputation for attempting to micromanage White House communications operations.

She also makes the White House’s top rate, $179,000 — a salary so high, it caused the president’s body man, Keith Schiller, to You’re Fired himself rather than have to attempt to live on it. Since when should a woman make 100 cents on the dollar of what all these dudes we’ve never heard of make? Is that even LEGAL?

How does she derail things, Daily Beast?

One such incident took place in April, when the communications staff met to strategize ways to respond to an emerging story about whether White House and administration officials had signed an ethics pledge imposed by an executive order, and whether any had received waivers from provisions of that pledge. Manigault attended the meeting, the Republican official said. But instead of helping to plot strategy, she bragged about the waiver her personal attorney was going to secure for her.

I don’t know, that seems kind of on point? Shit, at least she was going to get a waiver instead of just ignoring the Emoluments clause of the United States Constitution, like some people who are president of the United States. Surely there is worse, Daily Beast?

White House officials say that during meetings that include Manigault, aides will often take out their smartphones and start messaging each other saying they wished she would stop talking or leave the room entirely.

White House staffers hate Omarosa Manigault because they are the sorority girls in Neighbors 2: The Sorority-ing, except without the adorable baby feminism that is fucking adorable. That is tautological, Daily Beast! (If you haven’t seen Neighbors 2, with Zach Efron learning that calling girls “ho’s” just isn’t cool anymore, bro, it is delightful!)

Another source familiar with Manigault’s portfolio said she would occasionally attend prep sessions for the White House daily briefing. “She would come and bring up random, off-topic stuff,” the source said. “She would raise issues and never have a solution.”

Oh no, how dare she bring up something that might be an issue for people to try to solve TOGETHER. What a fuckin’ bitch, raining on all those doubtless perfect parades.

At the same time, Manigault’s duties in the OPL have gone less than smoothly. Last month, Manigault spoke on a panel at the annual National Association of Black Journalists conference in New Orleans to discuss police violence in black communities. She was repeatedly confronted by panelists and others in attendance, many of whom hissed and booed her, in part over her boss’s public encouragement of police brutality.

Omarosa is to blame for being booed by black people because her boss loves Nazis. Seems legit!

Those and other controversies—such as Manigault’s decision to give herself the title “The Honorable” in a letter to the Congressional Black Caucus—have caused headaches in the White House press shop.

Hahahaha, FAIR. That was a disaster.

Despite those headaches, Manigault has outlasted a chief of staff, a chief strategist, two communications directors, a National Security Adviser, and a press secretary, among other officials. But she’s also been relegated to the White House fringes—literally and figuratively. Sources said former chief of staff Reince Priebus and ex Press Secretary Spicer took pains to ensure her office remained in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, and not in the West Wing itself.

Also, the president loves her.

The degree to which the president will listen to her is, in fact, what got her on chief of staff Kelly’s bad side in the first place. Within Trump’s inner circle, Manigault became especially notorious for frequently popping into the Oval Office and distracting and infuriating Trump with pieces of negative news coverage, celebrity gossip, and stories of palace intrigue. “When Gen. Kelly is talking about clamping down on access to the Oval, she’s patient zero,” a source close to the Trump administration said.

We don’t doubt John Kelly and his “Nurse Ratched” deputy, Kirstjen Nielsen, hate Omarosa. But is Omarosa really any more “Patient Zero” than literally every other member of the president’s idiot staff — the same idiot staff who call Kirstjen Nielsen “Nurse Ratched” in the first place for trying to curb their fun, louche, Oval Office clubhouse ways? (Notably, it was two women, Kellyanne Conway and Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who defended Nielsen in the Politico piece, with their names attached.)

In conclusion! Is Omarosa Manigault a self-aggrandizing asshole? PROBABLY! Does any man working in the West Wing with the possible exception of John Kelly have a leg to stand on regarding being so terribly verklempt that she is “plotting” against people, when that place is like the Vatican under the fucking Borgias? Oh, did she rejoice when Reince Priebus got fired? So did fucking all of them, dudes.

In conclusion more! If you wanna say some shit about Omarosa Manigault, or Nikki Haley, or, hell, Hillary Clinton, try not to be a whiny, delicate, fragile, MRA about it, dicks.

When I see her name I think of this chilling clip from “The Choice”…

    • BearGHAZI

Are you sure that chilling clip isn’t from “The Office?”

  • exinkwretch

Oh, and don’t refer to her in second reference as “Omarosa,” which is belittling and sexist in itself. That said, she’s probably a raging psycho like at least two-thirds of Trump’s hires.

      eh, I think it’s okay actually. She’s a one-name star like Cher.

      • Lascauxcaveman

Exactly. Though I’ve never seen any segment of any episode of any season of The Apprentice, I have heard the name Omarosa a zillion times. But this post is the first time I’ve ever seen her last name.

  • peteywheats

So, we’re at the stage of Trump acceptance where we are defending his evil minions, if they are female or POC? OK.

    • Rags

No. She is being defended because of the way 4-5’s asswipes and this article treat her in racist and sexist ways. Note the heavy defense of Sleepy Carson by wonketters that doesn’t exist to further refute your assertion. Or maybe that was snark; if so ,needs work

Hm. I dunno. Some people are just more annoying than others. She may not be more evil than anyone else at the WH, but if she really does bring up random, irrelevant shit at meetings and blather on about it… How is it sexist, exactly, to report that people say that? No, if women in politics are subject to misogynist attacks, then it sexist MRA shit.

        • JMP

Yes, it is. If you say, however, that Omarosa is “shrill” or “hysterical”, or that she is “uppity”, then that would be rather different.

          • jesuswasablack

            Are you fucking serious?

  • JMP

Omarosa is not qualified to work in the White House – but then, the same is true for the vast majority of underlings Donald has brought with him from his business and reality TV show. I wonder why so many other staffers would focus their ire on her and not, say, Jared Kushner, hmm?

    • BigCSouthside

Jared is family. Pretty simple explanation. Kush is also in a much higher level of “management” than Omarosa.

She is a horrible human being who takes herself WAY, WAY too seriously. The fact that she gave herself the honorific “The Honorable” does not surprise me at all – I think her head is constantly busy thinking up all sorts of titles and entitlements for herself. She’s just another narcissist with a really sucky personality.

      • HellhathnofuryDemme

I never could get what a warm and wonderful guy like Micheal Clarke Duncan (PBUH) ever saw in her.

Omarosa Manigault is nasty, mean, unprincipled and determinedly stoopit. So, she’s just like the whole rest of Trump’s White House, cept she a woman and black. That means she sposed to let all the rest of the Trump limpbrainz grab her pussy and be quiet.

My “ärticle” much shorter n more clear than The Daily Beast’s santorum filled mouth dribble.

Omarosa Manigault is still at the WH cuz WH needs black and/or female faces to run out in front of public to spew their master’s shit. Besides, she hasn’t sucked up any Rossskie spoom, grabbed anyone’s else’s naughty bits wifout permission or bin “disloyal.” That puts her three up on so many Trumpazztistas takin the gouvmint’s 179,000 ameros annually.

OT: The House and Senate unanimously passed a joint resolution condemning white supremacists and what happened in Charlottesville. The White House has not commented on whether Trump will sign it:

While it’s not uncommon for resolutions to go through the House and the Senate, it’s rare that they head to the President for signature. But framing it as a joint resolution ensures it will land on the President’s desk.

The White House did not respond to CNN’s request for comment on the resolution Wednesday. (Warning – has an autoplay video, but it was the most recent update I could find.)

Here’s my question: Why is it so hard for Trump to lie and say “White supremacists are bad.” He lies about everything. Everyone knows if he said it, he’d be lying. What’s the problem?

    • Hamilton Ω, AKA Formerly DN

Trump wouldn’t dare say “White supremacists are bad”, because white supremacists are a major part of his supporters. This is not rocket surgery.

    • shivaskeeper

If he says it, there is a huge chunk of his base that will turn on him. He is supposed to be as out with the racism as it is possible to be. He is not supposed to hide from it or them. I lost interest the moment I realised this article wasn’t written by a straight white guy. As the most oppressed group in America, I trust their judgement of what counts as sexism (video game criticism, for instance) more than I trust a woman’s,who are historically the most rewarded group except all the others I’m not a member of. I notice you said nothing about how many people in the White House could be drafted for military service, which proves you don’t know what real sexism is (video game criticism, and also being expected not to have sex with the unconscious even when you’re the one who paid to get them that way, and the Ghostbusters remake). Maybe one day you’ll learn how simple discrimination on the basis of legitimate science and sexism are different, but until you’re willing to let a man like me sit you down and explain it I doubt that. Until you’ve put on another man’s shoes and been accused of “manspreading” you cannot understand suffering sexism. We have the right to be heard as we graciously give you the right to listen. That’s true equality.

I don’t doubt she’s awful – there’s no excuse for the way she behaved toward April Ryan, and tbh I think showing up at a meeting about african americans being killed by cops to both-sides that her relatives were killed by black-on-black violence was a really good reason to boo her.

But. All of them are horrible, and none of them are qualified, and Kellyanne stabbed Priebus right in the front on national television before he was fired, and let’s face it, Omarosa is hardly Trump’s most prominent useless office wife, just the only one without connections.

I think the guy who won that first season was a decent guy. Kwame, right? But Omarosa was horrid. She accused one woman of calling her the n-word, and then suggested that the same woman saying “that’s the pot calling the kettle black” was intending to racially intimidate her.

You know how every time someone says “Maybe cops shouldn’t shot every black person on sight?” and conservatives freak out and say “YOU’RE PLAYING THE RACE CARD???!!” Well, Omarosa actually plays the race card.

      • clairence

I remember Kwame as a decent guy. He didn’t win though, per Wikipedia.
Kwame and others actually denounced Trump during the R primaries.

        • AnnieGetYerFun

Oh, you’re right! Omarosa totally fucked his chances by pulling a bunch of stupid stunts and then talking shit about Kwame.

I must have dreamed that Kwame won. I remember Chris Rock making a joke about how no one named Kwame would ever win.

I also can’t believe I watched an entire season of that show.

  • Bemused

Omarosa is just an unknowledgeable hanger-on and that isn’t any different than the rest of the hangers-on.

  • Paperless Tiger

“Every critic, every detractor, will have to bow down to President Trump,” she said. “It’s everyone who’s ever doubted Donald, who ever disagreed, who ever challenged him. It is the ultimate revenge to become the most powerful man in the universe.”

This is government as vengeance. We must be punished. Why? Probably for something their mother did to them.

  • Resistance Fighter Callyson

Woman who works for Donald is as bad as the menz? Oh, the horror!

  • UncleTravelingMatt

I’m not sure I see the sexism here. Isn’t it just as likely that the completely unqualified person who lacks any specialized experience, training, or knowledge is bringing up irrelevant bullshit in meetings? Isn’t it fairly likely that non-political, career types who are specialists are the ones complaining because they don’t like their time being wasted?

    • clairence

Yes, that is just as likely. Although, “the completely unqualified person who lacks any specialized experience,
training, or knowledge” describes most of Trump’s hires.

      • UncleTravelingMatt

Maybe the rest of them keep their mouths shut during meetings.

        • clairence

      • AnnieGetYerFun

Pre-req for most positions in the admin. They do set aside a small number of job positions for people with (shudder) knowledge and intelligence.

    • AnnieGetYerFun

No sexism. No sexism. YOU’RE THE SEXISM.

No, really, I don’t see it, either. Slow news day?

      • UncleTravelingMatt

I wouldn’t be the sexist if I knew I was being recorded.

      • Shanzgood

        Me, neither.

    • Buzz1313

People keep saying she’s completely unqualified..that’s not necessarily true. I read a Wikipedia thing about her and apparently(allegedly?) she worked for either Clinton or Gore. I can’t remember the specifics. If that’s the case, she’s more qualified than some of those clowns working with Trump.

  • Maybe

It sounds as though she’s acting very much like Trump.

  • DarkSyn

When I think of Omarosa this little Omarosa quote crosses my mind: “Every critic, every detractor, will have to bow down to President Trump. It’s everyone who’s ever doubted Donald, who ever disagreed, who ever challenged him. It is the ultimate revenge to become the most powerful man in the universe.”

    • Nockular cavity

      That’s pretty insane.

        Or the “new normal”?

  • Iron Monkey

She works in the Trump White House–that’s all I need to know. She is horrible as are all the rest of them.

  • JohnBull

“179,000 a year doesn’t go near as far as you think it does,” says only someone insufferable enough who makes more than $179,000 a year and has never, ever had to work hard for even a fraction of that.

    • Carpe Vagenda

Well, and Joe Walsh and Newt Gingrich, but they were trying to get out of child support.

  • AnnieGetYerFun

Well, as a woman, Omarosa has to work twice as hard at being a rude, ignorant fuckwit in the Trump administration. So what they are saying is that she’s really very successful.

    • WIDTAP

…and in an environment where the competition is fierce, too.

  • pgjack

I don’t think nice thoughts about anyone who thinks Trump is a great man but Pruitt is the one we need to focus on. He’s a real SOB that is out to ruin the planet.

  • Bitter Scribe

Sorry, Becca, but I’m not buying this “it’s sexism” crap any more than I would buy “it’s racism.” Anyone who’s ever had a job that involves meetings has had to deal with that one useless fuckwit who loves the sound of his or her own voice, always derails the discussion with irrelevancies, and loves to “bring up issues” but never suggests a solution. Being a black woman does not give you a pass in this department.

    • Carpe Vagenda

But you’re assuming that her asshole colleagues are reporting her behavior accurately, although they’re almost certainly not reporting their own at all.

      • Bitter Scribe

But you’re assuming that her asshole colleagues are reporting her behavior accurately

Why not? If I’ve learned anything about assholes, it’s that they’re surprisingly good at detecting (and despising) their own faults in other people.

        • Carpe Vagenda

That doesn’t really cover the thing where the people in the room for a Trump administration meeting only remember one person being an asshole.

          • puredog

            Yeah, that there, that’s inexplicable.

Speaking of sexism towards the over-privileged, can’t a girl just shoot a homeless person without having to bother her daddy about it:

  • alwayspunkindrublic

OTOH, maybe she’s just a really, really horrible person that her really, really horrible colleagues hate.

    • Carpe Vagenda

Yeah, and that would absolutely make her stand out like a sore thumb in not just the Trump White House but Washington in general.

    • janecita

I agree, not everything is about sexism, or racism. We have an Omarosa in our office, she is just terrible, we all hate her, and we are all women.

      • alwayspunkindrublic

Her “every detractor will bow down to Trump” was one of the more chilling things I’ve heard. I have no doubt the people she works with are sexist dickheads, but I’m all out of empathy for anyone as hateful as she is.

        • Ellie

That remark is one I often repeat – every time I see her name, as a matter of fact, as in: Omarosa, I will still not “bow down to President Trump.” If the criticism she faces in the WH is sexist, I’m sorry to read it. My criticism is because she’s another lump of tRump sludge.

    • mfp, all 6s&7s&9s

      all true^^

Omarosa and Donald Trump are really similar. The traits they hate in her are in him- the man they work for. Does this mean they truly hate Donald Trump??

He’s A Man of the World – She’s Been Around

“A business man is aggressive; a business woman is pushy. A business man is good on details; she’s picky. He loses his temper because he’s so involved with his job; she’s bitchy. He follows through; she doesn’t know when to quit. He stands firm; she’s hard. His judgments are her prejudices. He is a man of the world; she’s been around. He drinks because of the excess job pressure; she’s a lush. He isn’t afraid to say what he thinks; she’s mouthy. He exercises his authority diligently; she’s power mad. He climbed the ladder of success; she slept her way to the top. He’s a stern taskmaster; she’s hard to work for.”

~ Margrit Eichler, 1980; cited in Caplan, 1993.

  • Jamoche

It’s a shame TWoP’s new owners took down the recaps, because they did a good job of snarking Omarosa’s Apprentice stint. Looking back, it seems obvious that Donnie wasn’t keeping her around because drama is ratings gold – Donnie liked her.

    • Carpe Vagenda

They didn’t set the robot.txt properly (shocker). The Wayback has them. And here’s the chat thread.

    • Auntie Velvet

Trump also created a Bachelorette-type show with Omarosa as the prize. I’ve only seen excerpts, but it’s about the train wreck you’d expect.

    • Red Bird

      Me thinks you’re right.

    • jodyleek

      The reasons he likes her:
1). She whispers sweet, ego-enhancing bullshit in his ears
      2). She is physically attractive
      That combo is Trump’s jam.

      • Jamoche

#1 didn’t apply during the show – from all reports, the Apprentices barely interacted with Donnie at all. I think Donnie saw a kindred spirit.

  • SayItWithWookies

I’m going with the explanation that Omarosa is horrible and her critics in the WH are resorting to sexist and racist criticisms because the first thing that comes to their minds is “that bitch” or whichever piece of invective you’d like to substitute in there.

Having watched The Apprentice season with her in it, she is truly horrible — not only did she derail projects by not participating, but she’d actively lie about what other team members were doing — like telling the manager that someone else said they would get some piece of needed equipment when they hadn’t, so that that person would get the blame. Her focus was on actively making other people look bad, and often ambushing people in the boardroom who’d had nothing to do with the team’s failure.

Anyway, that seems to be about the only skill she’s demonstrated. All I’ve seen in her WH tenure is her menacing people who opposed Trump and acting as though she speaks for him. So I’ve no doubt she gives orders to a lot of her coworkers under the mantle that “Donald said this, so I’m telling you to do that,” which seems to be her public persona too.

So — genuinely horrible person, criticized by racist and sexist assholes. And one more thing about her that I learned from The Apprentice — Trump won’t fire her unless it’s his last resort, and that’s a ways off. (Note that I’ve been 100% wrong about who’s getting fired or leaving next, so take that as you will).

  • mfp, all 6s&7s&9s

sorry, editrix, ya barkin at the wrong forest here…as one who did watch the apprentice season with omarosa, i can confidently say that, next to trump hisself, she is one of the most self-aggrandising and despicable people i’ve ever witnessed

and yes, i know that shows like the apprentice are edited to influence outcomes and perceptions, but omarosa clearly came thru as an overbearing, conniving, scheming backstabber, with few obvious skills other than the self-promotion and conniving…she constantly sabotaged others on her own team, in order to point fingers in the boardroom scenes–and when things did go right, it was because omarosa, of course

there are plenty of reasons to hate on and marginalise omarosa (whenever possible) without the sexist BS, but the sexists gonna sexist…their motivations are wrong, but their goal is worthy…keep her out of the loop, cause yeah, she is an asshole, and esp an asshole with no clue as to governance

and yes, i’m ashamed to admit i watched the apprentice show–although it was perfect practice for the shitshow we’re having to endure from the whitehouse on a daily basis

    • Boscoe

Am I a bad person because I enjoy the fact that “scheming backstabber” is right in the thick of Trump’s “administration”? In my mind, I imagine the Jaws theme playing behind her everywhere she goes, as trump’s people try to hide behind potted plants and stuff as she walks by…

  • Boscoe

To be honest, so far I am not against anything Omosrosa is being accused of doing in the White House. The fact that she may be the only one showing trump how we really feel about him is reason enough to protect her access to him. Otherwise all he’s getting is the twice daily fluffing and all of his bubble-friends telling him how “perfect” his handling of Charlottesville was.

  • Auntie Velvet

I’ve seen two seasons of Apprentice and have never reacted so strongly against a reality show “villain” before or since. Her genius is that she remains so poised while saying the most maddening things that it can be hard to report her, as her co-worker. So as I read these excerpts from the article I am not getting a sexist vibe.

You might also recall that she cornered an assault victim in a bathroom at a Trump event and told her she was lying and just generally freaked the poor woman out. (I think the woman’s crime was that she had asked a pointed question during the event.)

    • Carpe Vagenda

Oh, I’m sure she’s a hyena in a bandage dress. I’m just pretty sure that everyone around her is equally as awful, and she’s being singled out because if they throw her off the sled the wolves will slow down.

    • I remember watching some of Season One (until the drawn out pacing to build a sense of ‘suspense’ over bullshit became unbearable), and I immediately suspected that she was an actor hired to create conflict. She always seemed like a ‘plant’, a wrestling heel slotted into the competition for ratings.

  • chicken thief

Jesus Christ on a crispy cracker, it really torques my jaws when people start bashing a woman with drive and ambition. JUST GROW THE FUCK UP, WHINY CUCK SNOWFLAKES!!!!!

Besides, that she has a really nice ass is good ’nuff reason to let her wander into the office and share some gossip, am I right, Donnie?

  • Alan

Sorry. She’s certainly no more qualified than any of these other idiots to hold any position in the White House.

  • The Librarian

Being hated for being a poc and/or woman has no place when dissing someone. Being a pos and/or scheming backstabber does. The latter seems a prerequisite for working in today’s White House. Omarosa fits in nicely, if all the articles I’ve read about her Apprentice days are true.

  • Daniel Hooper

In all fairness, I’m not sure sexism seems to be playing a huge a role as it’s being made out to be(I’m sure it does play some part, before I get chewed out). Frankly, nothing in there specifically calls her out for interrupting the men, just being a distraction. Personally I would be annoyed myself if anyone, man or woman, kept dragging a meeting off topic with unrelated stuff. And her getting booed at that panel; she’s the representative of the Trump administration at something addressing police violence against minorities. If your boss supported something that’s the total opposite of the thing being discussed and was very public about it, I’d probably boo you too.
Again, I’m pretty sure sexism does have some role. Just think it’s maybe not quite a focus of people’s rage/annoyance with her than her personality and the man she represents.

    • Oh no, the sexisms and the racisms are absolutely behind this. Cause there are plenty of self aggrandizing assholes in that white house, but it is /her/ they sniff at the mostest.
However, why are we shocked that Trump’s white house would be sexist and racist toward even…each other?

      • hillarysleftone

well i did watch the show she was on and IIRC a large part of it was “men’s team vs women’s team” and her women teammates despised her for all the behaviors outlined in the piece (plus back-stabbing and lying CYA in the Boardroom segments which preceded the “you’re fired!” schtick), so then, if not now, I don’t see the argument that sexism had anything to do with it. (None of the Daily Beast laundry list of obnoxious behaviors, btw, was any surprise to anyone who watched that season of The Apprentice, believe me. They were all on display then.)

tl;dr: the sources may be sexists–indeed, they’re in the Trump White house, so it would be a bigger story if they WEREN’T– but she IS a horrible co-worker. Almost pathologically so.

      • mfp, all 6s&7s&9s

no…it’s not her they sniff at the most-est…it’s that it’s her they’re sniffing at the most recently…it’s her turn, and it just took a little bit longer to get to her because on the screaming asshole totem, she was a little bit further down

  • Professor Fate

Horrible people saying horrible things about another horrible person.
Just Tuesday at the White House.

  • puredog

I will always remember the moment I fell in love with Our Editrix: When she shocked the hell out of Jan Brewer on CNN by saying nice stuff to her (to her extreme surprise).

  • Me not sure

I never watched the stupId show. I saw her a few times during the campaign. She’s a very physically attractive person who expresses herself with great clarity on television and seems loyal to her boss. That loyalty alone makes me dislike her.

    • She’s actually very loyal to Trump and likely will continue to be so up until the time Mueller starts glancing her way.
In which case Trump will be a large speedbump.

  • Iron Monkey

Everyone in the Trump White House is a filthy swine. Some are filthier than others but none rise above the level of disgusting. That Omarosa Manigault is attacked by those worse than her doesn’t make her any better, just her attackers even more swinish.

  • Angela Ruzzo

All the things they mention that Omarosa did at meetings are all things that every man I have ever worked with has repeatedly done at a meeting. Except for one thing I have observed at meetings…the men always pig out on the donuts or pizza, and the women don’t.

    • Regret

      I need better meetings :(
There is never any pizza, and the only time there is something to drink is if I bring it myself.

    • Lefty Wright

Yeah, men do it too. But they were also assholes for doing it. Being a woman does not absolve you of responsibility of needlessly dragging out meetings with a dozen people who actually have work to do. Discussing a situation you had with a particular vendor, or budget officer, or customer may be important for you and may slightly touch on an issue in the agenda, but 15 minutes of it with no conclusion wastes everyone’s time. Take it up with your supervisor, solve the problem, and if still pertinent, give it 3 minutes in the next meeting when you actually have some real information to give. 12 people do not need to be hashing out a problem specific to your office but only very slightly relevant to them. I have been in meetings that drug out an extra half hour with two people discussing things the other 10 people were not affected by. Have that happen 2 or 3 times a week and it gets frustrating. And it is generally the same 2 or 3 people. That sounds like what people are complaining about. Even if your job is counting beans, dragging you out for an extra hour or two each week to discuss oil prices is frustrating and puts you behind.

      • Angela Ruzzo

You are correct, but I was not suggesting the things Omarosa is accused of doing in meetings are good, merely that many men do the same thing, so it is often a case of “Physician heal thyself.” However, the real problem is whoever is chairing the meeting – it is their responsibility to keep the meeting on target and prevent time-wasting divergences. Whoever is chairing Omarosa’s meetings is not doing their job.

  • Mike Steele

So, what you’re saying here, is that Assaroma does all the annoying little things we’ve learned Ivanka is famous for – except, she’s not family, and doesn’t beg Daddy to take her along on his North Dakota trip.

    • Morrigan in Oregon

      Assaroma . . . you’re killing me, here!

  • Mike Steele

Lady MS here: Any woman who would utter the ‘bow down before him’ schlock that she put out deserves the shade, regardless of source or motivation. That is, unless you think that is, in any way, defensible. She is Steve Bannon after a shower, w/o the apocalyptic worldview and Mercer money.

    • Quite? I think we can absolutely mock her without sexist bullshit.
What she does is bullshit enough.
And yet… I am all “Woman who allowed herself to be a token blackity female for well known sexist racist clown is all agast her co workers have the sexisms and racisms, news at 11”

  • Jeff Mc Donald

I can’t remember. Who is this Amaretto person, and why is she famous?

    • HazooToo

The absolute one and only reason is that she’s the only black lady to win The Apprentice. That’s the only reason she’s famous, and the only reason she’s in the White House. If she had not been on Trump’s godawful show, she would be just another asshole no one knew.

      • JD Mulvey

Trump loved her because she had a penchant for stirring up shit with the other players, seemingly just for the pure joy of it. She seemed to predict, correctly, that the more chaos and fury she could foment, the better her personal chances for success would be.

She and Trump are stamped from the same mold.

        • mfp, all 6s&7s&9s

          YASSS!…alla this^^, exactly

  • Out of Patience

They hate her because she is woman. But it helps that she is useless with nothing to add.

    • Invidosa

No more useless than any of the other assholes that currently infest the white house. If there is a lesson to take away from all this is that there are dick whistles in all makes, models and genders. . . And they all love orange McFuckity face

  • Delu

She’s a prime example of the Trump “loyalty over integrity” mantra.

Even in the Apprentice it was apparent that she was far from the most qualified or capable of people. Yet here she suddenly is on Trump’s staff after getting fired from his reality TV show.

No one who would actually value capability would do something like this. Which means Trump values an entirely different thing altogether.

    • JD Mulvey

Trump knew that people love to have someone to hate. If there’s one thing he respects (ok, along with loyalty to himself), it’s ratings.

  • TEX Dept. of Space Tacos

damn, I’m gonna piss off the ‘Trix and every women here – but she sounds like a pain in teh ass. Not because she’s a woman, but because if you can’t keep a meeting on track, that shit will end up debating 16th century weaving techniques.

hate me if you want dear friends, everything Omarosa is alleged ot have done in this article is something I would despise from a colleague, male or female.

(prepares to dodge incoming maxi pads and empty tubes of lipstick)

    • HazooToo

She’s an asshole. They are also assholes. Assholes frequently hate each other, and sometimes they do it in sexist ways. You’re fine.

      • JD Mulvey

My general rule of thumb is when two assholes are ripping each other apart, I stay on the sidelines.

Jumping into the fray and saying that asshole is better than that other one seems like you’re choosing the wrong hill to die on (if I may mix my mataphores a little).

    • Juan de Fuca

I don’t think you’re going to piss off anyone. In fact, if Rebecca wants to better know why people don’t like Omoroso, she really should go back and watch season one of The Apprentice. All of the reasons these leakers give for not liking Omoroso are the same exact reasons some of us don’t like that one guy in our office. There’s nothing sexist about it. Omoroso comes across to me as that dipshit. I’m not as certain about the whole “maxi pads and empty tubes of lipstick” thing, so you’re on your own with that one.

    • The Flaming Carrot

Nah, I’m good. Her status as spokesfiend for a dictator trumps (heh!) any cred she would otherwise have had as a blackwoman.

  • thepoliticalcat

BeccaLou, you sure do kick ass good. That is all.

  • miss_grundy

Not only does Trump have a Woman problem, he has a Black Woman problem since he believes that they should all shut up. That being said, Omarosa is a dumb brown-noser and if Tangerini has thrown her under the bus then that is her just deserts.

  • Celtic_Gnome

In conclusion more! If you wanna say some shit about Omarosa Manigault, or Nikki Haley, or, hell, Hillary Clinton, try not to be a whiny, delicate, fragile, MRA about it, dicks.

Okay. That’s gonna bring a shitload of internet nastiness to the non-comments. They hate to be challenged like that, you know.

    • If Rebecca builds it, they will come.

When they arrive here we will deal with them as we always do.

Usually by laughing at their tiny little dicks, and smaller intellects.

    • Nothing worse than a pissing contest among dicks to see who can be the most whiny, delicate, and fragile MRA.

  • JD Mulvey

I don’t know. It’s cool to call out sexism and all, but this might not be your ideal test case.

  • The Flaming Carrot

As my sister, Sigmundia Freudenschade, would say to one of her patients: “I sympathize with your plight, but it seems that you lacked the prescience to appreciate the sequelae of your actions.”

    • I see what you did there… is that just a hint of multiple orgasm envy you see coming out of me? You might be right.

  • Sure ragging on Omarosa feels good. She’s largely responsible for putting herself in this shitty shit-hole where lots of shit can be found, but at the same time, let’s not forget that this is most women’s treatment in the wider world, too.

    • GRH

      But in her case it’s not because she’s a female – it’s because she’s a dick.
I mean, come on people, she IS a dick.

      • yes, but she’s a black female dick. And, there are a lot of white male dicks doing all the dickish things to all the other dicks, but those dicks like to be all chummy and do cluster fucking and stuff, but they won’t let the black female dick do any of the chummy cluster fucking with all the white male dicks. Because they’re dicks.

  • Iam Reading

Um, no. An asshole is an asshole. Omarosa is an asshole, an unapologetic one at that. Pigment and genitals have nothing to do with it.

She was also an asshole when she “worked” for democrats. This is not the battle to fight in the name of feminism. She is as much a feminist as Trump is and she gives zero fucks about POC.

  • pixeloid

It’s obvious that everyone hates her. However, it’s not obvious that it’s because of sexism. Typically, people hate assholes, of which she is an excellent example
