Make sure all underage youngsters are out of the room, because it’s time for some more NSFW XXX POLL PORN, which yet again shows that, no matter how hard he tries, Donald Trump sucks wombat foreskin at being president. A Fox News poll on Trump’s first 100 days in office shows that, even though he has a 45% approval rating (48% disapprove), when a different question is asked, Trump’s numbers go down the drain faster than Russian hooker pee that’s currently swirling around a drain. If it were already 2020 and voters had to choose between Donald Trump and somebody else, only a measly, puny 36% of respondents would vote for Trump. WHOA IF TRUE!

Wow, 55 whole percent of people would vote for somebody else! Congratulations, Chelsea Clinton! This poll is probably Fake News, though, because those 55 whole percent are all illegal Mexican Muslims from Kenya, who are only voting because George Soros is paying them to.

Another fake result in this lamestream media Fox News poll shows that over half of Americans correctly understand that our nation is FAR less respected around the world than it was a year ago, now that Pussgrab McLittlepaws is president. The 29% who think America is more respected are Trump voters who think Cracker Barrel is the fanciest. They do not have passports and they don’t tend to read, so they can be forgiven for having incorrect beliefs about what the world thinks of pathetic, sad Trump:

Trump shouldn’t be disheartened though! There is another new poll, this time from Washington Post/ABC, that shows that Trump voters are as stupid as they’ve always been. Fully 76% of his supporters think he always tells the truth, while 78% of them think the news media actively makes up fake news. Meanwhile a new University of Virginia Center for Politics poll finds that fully 88% of Trump supporters agree with their loser leader’s statement that the news media is “the enemy of the American people.” Who the fuck are these people we share breathing space with, and how did they get here? Oh yeah, Fox News and Rush Limbaugh have been lobotomizing them for decades and they have now completely lost their damn minds.

To revisit the Fox News poll before we close out this post, there is ONE really annoying finding, and it’s that 57% of respondents are apparently tired of hearing about all this Trump Russia scandal stuff, probably because 57% of respondents are stupid goldfish who don’t know their history, or they’ve gotten distracted by something shiny. Or maybe they think we have all the answers we need already. Or maybe they are like dumb idiot Eli Lake, who thinks all the (alleged LOL) crimes of disgraced former national security adviser/LITERAL ACTUAL FOREIGN AGENT Michael Flynn are just a “string of gaffes.” Whatever, dude.

Anyway, the point is that even Fox News polls hate Donald Trump, so he should probably go ahead and resign and spare America the indignity of ever having to look at his stupid face ever again.

In fairness, I’m tired of hearing about it too. I’m ready for the part where we stop talking about the obvious collusion and start acting on the mountain of proof with mass GOP indictments now.

36%? Big deal. That’s all you need in America to “win”.

There’s been a rash of op-eds and solemn pundit pieces lately saying the coastal “elites” are too condescending to Trump voters, and that’s why they voted for him and continue to support him. And to ever have any hope of getting them to vote sensibly the “elites” must be nicer and not talk down to them.

Why? These people have drunk the Kool-Aid. They either do not believe the shit he’s pulled – the corruption, the incompetence, the likely treason – or they don’t care (even though if Hillary had done 1/100th of it they would be frothing at the mouth in rage).

As Trump himself said, he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and not lose any supporters. What’s the point in trying to be rational with them.

    Fuck them.

    • canes_pugnaces

My feeling as a coastal elite is I am no where condescending enough.

    • Claire

Those pundits need to sit the fuck down. Nobody is responsible for calming down rural white people’s irrational rage except rural white people. And all the people who say we need to “understand” them need to start by understanding that (a) they fucking hate us, and (b) their information ecosystem is so completely closed that nothing we say will penetrate no matter how nicely we say it.

Christ, Liberal Media. Can we live in the real world for a change? Even if it means admitting how many of our fellow Americans are unreachable, irredeemable shitwipes who will never ever agree with us on who should and shouldn’t be considered a human being, let alone on how the country should be run?

      • Zippy W Pinhead

^^THIS^^ While it’s true that many if not most of the Trumpanzzes did indeed vote for him as a big ‘fuck you’ and thumb in the eye of libtards, Dems, minorities, the elitists, smart people, etc., that’s their damn problem not ours. It certainly couldn’t hurt to dial back the condescension a bit, but the idea that we have to cater to these people is nonsense. First off, it’s not like that will work, anyways. They’ll just view it as weakness on our part and validation for their silly bullshit. And that’s assuming they ever hear about, which is a mighty big “if” given their epistemic closure. Second, they really are deplorable people- they’re bigots and xenophobes and misogynists and all sorts of horribleness. How exactly are we supposed to find common ground with that?

        • Vincent Ricola

There is no “condescension.” It’s a bullshit tone argument that they all use because Fox and Rush told them that’s what to do when faced with reality/facts coming from another person.

        • Claire

Yeah, the “common ground” thing ignores the fact that we disagree on fundamental human rights issues for which there is no compromise. Either abortion is legal or it isn’t; women can’t have half an abortion. Either the US is a Christian nation or we have separation of church and state; we can’t compromise and be an officially newt-worshipping nation instead. Having the same rights as every other citizen is a binary choice; people do or they don’t.

Sometimes things just have to be worth fighting for. If even Democrats don’t believe that fundamental human rights are worth putting up a fight and smacking down people who think anyone not just like them is subhuman, then there’s nothing about this country or its population that’s worth fighting for anymore.

    • VomitFreeSince’93

I’ve noticed NPR has been showcasing a buttload of Trump supporters lately. Remember when we use to listen to NPR to look smarter than everyone else? Those days are over.

      • SadDemInTex

Sad to say that is why I think NPR losing federal funding might be a good idea and I would like corporate interests not be allowed to give much money either. I think we will all need to pony up just like when it began. Right now the Kochs own NPR.

        • Paul

There is am awesome public station called WAMC, Northeast Public Radio, out of Albany, NY. It is available around the world.

          WAMC.org.

Run by a buncha commie libtards that are iconoclasts. Their fundraisers are held 3 times a year and they break all the rules.
None of this 5 minutes here, ten minutes there pleas for money and then back to their programs. Nope. Fuck that. We are not going back to regular programming until we meet our goal of a million dollars.(for a total of $3 million per year)

Hard to believe but the fundraisers are more fun to listen to than regular programming. It’s a days long affair generally, averaging 5-6 days to get their million. However, due to Trump, and the station savaging him as a danger to public radio and society in general, the most recent million dollar pledge drive was OVER IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS.

All the other NPR stations ask how they are so successful and when told, shake their heads and say “That’ll never work.” Dumb fucks will perish while WAMC thrives. The station provides/produces most of what they air, relying very little on the national organization, especially since they turned into cowards. Koch-sucking both siderists.

It’s the way public radio used to be. You remember…when it was good. Listen online. WAMC is a gem. We are lucky to have them and now that they are online, you too can listen.

          • SadDemInTex

Brilliant !! And is what I would hope for.

      • Slamtundra

Well, they have, but I take from it that they’re just showing how fucking stupid those motherfuckers are, and how very fucked the rest of us are.

    • Gayer Than Thou

I wish, for once, one of these concerned op-ed writers/columnists would A) sit down with one of these Trump voters and convince him or her that voting for Trump was a bad, stupid, dumb, terrible, not very good idea and that they should have voted for Hillary instead and then B) write a column/op-ed that explains how they did it and how the same process can be duplicated on a large scale without all of us drinking ourselves to death.

      https://media.giphy.com/media/J5gFTnStheH1m/giphy.gif

      • Zippy W Pinhead

No doubt- prove it can be done, because frankly the rest of us don’t believe you can

      • Claire

I think every op-ed concern troll should have to write a column directed at Trump voters and telling them why they should reach out to us and try to understand us. Because as far as I know, no such article has ever been written, anywhere.

    • Michael Smith

Trump is condescending to them, too. They just don’t realize it because he is better at lying to the middle class than we are. When we think Regular Americans are being a bunch of racist, homophobic, vindictive idiots, we tell them.

Republicans don’t bother with that. They figure out what people fear and use that fear to manipulate the dumb masses – future consequences be damned.

    • artem1s

You know what I want to see is the ten million think pieces on where the hell the GOP primary went wrong and whether Russian hacking started long before the general. You want the GOP to start paying attention to that shit, get Rand Paul to wake up and understand that the Russkies stole his supporters and channeled them over Bernie. And get Rubio and Cruz and the rest of the losers to understand that the media hacking started roughly around the time of the first GOP debate, not in July during the GOP convention.

well we’ll get a sense of how it’s gonna shake out in a few weeks in GA. I have a really hard time believing that wimmenz hating GOPers will turn out for Handel. And even dumb middle class white wimmenz know who to blame for ruining Komen and their access to early screenings.

          • BadKitty904

I’ll be deeply (but very pleasantly) surprised if Ossof takes it. The Republicans will move heaven and earth to steal this election, too, if only out of spite and to prove to the Dems that there’s nothing they can do to stop the GOP’s growing dictatorship.

  • JustPixelz (((Ω)))

Media types (lookin’ at you idiot Tweety) keep citing poll that says 98% of Trump voters would vote for him again. That’s not exactly what the poll says. It’s 98% of people who say they voted for Trump. People who regret their vote are less likely to admit they voted for Little Donnie in the first place.

    http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/president-trump-100-days-honeymoon-regrets-poll/story?id=46943338

    • Claire

True, and it also assumes (of necessity) that people were accurately reporting their opinions. I’m guessing many of Trump’s voters are of the “Angry old man who will vehemently deny any attempt to make him admit error or regret in front of other people no matter how stupid he knows he was” demographic.

Even Bilbo Chaffitz was kinda sorta willing to say that it looked like Flynn broke the law kinda sorta.
It could be a string of gaffes. Trump could be a clueless bozo who had no idea he was surrounded by people who were taking money from Russian agents. As long as the White House continues their intransigence and Congress drags their feet, it would be irresponsible not to speculate that something much worse was going on.

    • Good_Gawd_Yall

Like him taping himself committing treason by offering quid pro quo to ease sanctions on Russia in exchange for them getting him elected? That kind of something worse?

      • Vagenda of Rebel Scum

  • Good_Gawd_Yall

    Two things:
    1) Yesterday I was behind a truck with a bumper sticker I knew I didn’t want to read, because red/white/blue bumper stickers on pickups are generally known to make me stabby, shouty, and rage-stroke-y. But it drew me in like a wreck in a NASCAR race draws rednecks. It said, “I’m not a Republican or a Democrat. (then in big print in the middle:) I’m an American! (then in littler print underneath:) And I want my country back!” And I thought to myself, so quickly it’s obviously become my brain’s version of muscle memory – “Fuck you, you fucking asshole, it’s not YOUR personal country, it belongs to all of us!” This guy, you can’t teach, you can’t fix, you can’t reason with, you can’t reach. This guy you kick to the curb and leave him and his ilk to die out slowly of preventable diseases he can’t afford to have treated because he consistently votes for people who take away his healthcare. This guy is one of the 89% of dumbasses who think Twitler is doing a fine job.
    B) One of my neighbors came over yesterday. Now, prior to the election she had said, “I hate both of them,” in relation to the candidates, and I know she either didn’t bother to vote or voted for Dumpster. So we were chatting about this-n-that, and I worked in a few subtle remarks about what’s going on in the world, and she said, “I don’t pay attention to that stuff, it just makes me so mad. And anyway I don’t know where you can find out real news anyway.” I said, “You can trust the mainstream media, despite what Twitler says (and yes, I did use Twitler).” Later in the conversation I mentioned how I don’t shop at Hobby Lobby because of their hypocrisy in the birth-control bullshit lawsuit, and she said, “I bet you don’t eat at Chik-Fil-A either, do you?” But in a genuinely interested way, not a condescending way. So I explained why I don’t. And she was thoughtful, not dismissive. This one, I think we can reach. If it takes us doing this one at a time, that’s what it takes. It’s depressing, yes, but not as bad as letting this country go sliding down the tubes because we’ve had a generation of lying and a tsunami of bullshit from the reichwing that’s poisoned everyone’s minds.
TL,DR: we can win – it will just take work.

    • Vagenda of Rebel Scum

You did the right thing. I have to remind myself that people generally don’t respond well when you shout at them and call them stupid, much as I want to.

    • Mpeg

Getting through is next to impossible so often, that the occasional breakthrough is worth it. Even paving some clearance toward common ground. I hear the “Nope I don’t watch news / can’t stand to listen/ see it” and that’s not common ground for dialogue.

      • Claire

Do you ask them if they READ news? I can’t stand to watch news on TV either because there are a million commercials and every. single. news anchor in existence speaks with exactly the same vocal tone and intonation. It’s like someone is cloning them somewhere.

        • Jack Rogue Tenhet

You and me both. I don’t watch news at all, I read everything out there. I read and come away with information, not tone of voice. It’s better that way.

      THIS! A thousand times this!

People like your neighbor should be treated with compassion and understanding. They need to be guided gently and with love. Think that a lot of these people need to be gradually deprogrammed because theirs is a very cult-like environment.

They like to talk these days about the “bubble” like that’s some new thing now. It’s always been there and people like us know it. The bubble was created by rightwingers and they’ve been cultivating it for a generation. It was just radio, but that spread to TV and now here we are. Rush Limbaugh was a radio voice who did have a short-lived TV show. Republicans have thrived by exploiting and generating ignorance, innuendo and outright lies.

It’s always been republicans, led by a movie star president who railed against the notion of a “liberal Hollywood” brainwashing people. You and I know that never happened, but a lot of voters don’t. They have been brainwashed.

I cannot even say his name out loud because it just pisses me off to no end. His name does that. This is a very new thing to me. My level of loathing for this, dare I even say “man”, is beyond anything political and manifest into out-an-out disgust.

He cheapens the office of presidency by the presence on his sweat.

His voice is the most obnoxious sound in the realm of hearing.

His abject stupidity is more grating than having fingernail feet and walking on a chalkboard paved world.

He is the most arrogant, weasely sack of rotted meat to have ever occupied a poorly tailored suit and we are a worse species for his existence.

    • Debbie the Unpaid Protester

I really, really work hard not to hate anyone (I would visualize GW Bush as an innocent baby, in order to let go of my rage at him).
The current resident of the White House, however, has stymied me. I try to pretend he doesn’t exist, while still resisting EVERYTHING that suckwad stands for. He is awful and rage-inducing and horrible as a person; stupid and arrogant and incompetent as a politician.
He is wrecking everything, and I don’t think I can find forgiveness in my heart…

    • Lefty Frizzell

I feel exactly the same way. I’ve actually been having a helluva time adjusting to the visceral loathing I have for Trump.

    • Vagenda of Rebel Scum

I have to agree. There’s a lot that infuriates me, but the worst is the lying. The constant and unabashed lying. Yes, all politicians lie at times. This week they decided to invade a tiny little local parade in my neighborhood. Now the parade’s cancelled and Republicans are proclaiming that they “won” because as everyone knows it was really the “leftists” who were the bad guys, obviously.

      • JD Mulvey

Well, the official County Republican response was that they’d “be prepared to defend themselves,” which of course means they’d be packing and ready to whip it out.

And if any little tykes watching the parade happened to take a bullet, that’s really just the price we pay for freedom, right?

Really? Come on people, look at the header. I’m always a little suspicious when “threats” from anti fascists start getting play without critical digging. Mind some ARA peeps are so wedded to “anarchism” they can be their own worst enemy when it comes to PR.

The Atlantic links to another Oregon paper:
      http://www.oregonlive.com/rosefest/index.ssf/2017/04/organizers_cancel_82nd_avenue.html

Also too there seems to be(been?) some ongoing anti-Semitic organizing under the Oregon left radical community’s noses for years:

      • JD Mulvey

Oh believe me, Portland’s radicals are fucked up assholes. They’re white, middle class kids (mostly) and they spend their time joining progressive marches that then fomenting splitoff groups to go and break windows and block freeways.

It escapes their thinking that these things don’t actually grow political support for your cause.

The other items in their radical toolkit are:

        – pretending to speak for people of color, some of whom are standing right there and seem perfectly capable of speaking for themselves.

disrupting our City Council, preventing them from adopting programs to support homeless people, which are obviously a ruse to fool us into thinking they’re progressives.

        • C4TWOMAN

Welp, in my reading, it looks like you have some peeps who’ve been encouraging that type of “radicalism” for their own agenda. And the progressive left activist community is clueless and flatfooted. One of the guys in those stories FOUNDED a “radical” bookstore “Laughing Horses” but turned out to be a Nazi apologist and this was only discovered AFTER 20 YEARS????????

That is not normal in an alleged leftist community. It went on for two decades and it was only a rag tag group of Antifas who noticed something was wrong? This is where their anarchism was probably an asset-they weren’t invested in the liberal activist scene. But someone was. And someone wanted Nazis apologists to be tolerated. And they(collectively) lets this go on for 2 decades. Where were the other peace groups/activist?

There is no excuse. That was what 5 years ago? You had neonazis apologists acting under ground in leftist activist circles for decades? Unless some media outlet has stepped up to do some digging and exposure, you can bet its still going on.

But I agree about council disruption tactics. That’s straight from the Tea Bagger, town hall play book.

Good luck, cuz you’re going to need it. Frankly if I was in your area, I’d be talking with the local ACLU on a regular basis. And, FFS, report anything fishy to the FBI.

          • JD Mulvey

I keep wondering why they don’t move to Orlando or Tulsa or Tuscaloosa and foment some revolution there? Why Portland?

I mean, if you’re truly dedicated to your cause and all, go into the belly of the beast.

I hear they’ve got microbreweries there now too.

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fritz_Springmeier

When he got out of prison, he was going home. Lucky you.

People on the West Coast see themselves as a liberal stronghold, but the racist KKK influence didn’t go away. A lot of it went under ground.
Imma guessing there’s more militia, 3%, and local separatists (racists) than you’re aware of. The community of left activists AND local media need to actually start digging and exposing these creeps and their connections. And not listen to “freeze peach” excuses.
Springmeier’s talk page is really instructive about how these racist creeps see themselves:
            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Fritz_Springmeier

“He’s not right or left, or a terrorist! bawwl ur so unfairz!”

I know Trump voters are akin to cultists who are blinded by their guru, but seriously, how can so many of them overlook the constant flipping, backtracking and just plain contradictions that come out of his mouth? The mental gymnastics must be astounding.

Sort of like “I vote Republican” and “I live in a third-world shithole state” don’t share any connective vectors.

  • Anna Elizabeth

OT – I went to the little store, just to get a walk in. I encountered this elderly lady, with a look of frustration and sadness on her face. I asked if she was OK, and she said she was walking back from a hassle applying for Food Stamps, and did I have any change so she could get something to eat? I never do this, but I gave her the 50 cents I had in my purse.

Did I do the right thing? It felt right.

    • jesterpunk

I think you did the right thing, you tried to help someone.

      • Anna Elizabeth

        Thank you. :)

    • Shanzgood

You did. You gave her what you could when nobody else who probably had more offered her anything at all.

      • Anna Elizabeth

Thank you. I only have a couple of bucks left, but Payday is next week, and I wont miss a meal with food in pantry & freezer.

My gut said she was just a sweet lady having a hard time.

i donut believe there are many here (USA USA USA) [begging] “for profit”. driving a truck for a paving co. i see signers all the time over & over again and they are almost never in the moment on getting money–i rarely see any handouts

          • Anna Elizabeth

I see them sometimes too. I don’t usually have cash, this change was left over from moving day when I carried cash to eat. It doesn’t feel like a scam.

          • cmd resistor

The only people that seem scammy are the ones who walk up to you in an odd place with a wild story and an exact amount they need for this thing they are telling you about. I agree, booze is fine, too. Once we were trying to smuggle a 2 liter ginger ale bottle filled with beer into a baseball game. Too foamy so the guy wouldn’t let us in. We were sitting outside thinking we’d try to drink some before going in. A guy approached trying to sell us a baseball cardboard thing that came free in the newspaper and we gave him the beer instead, making his day.

          • Anna Elizabeth

Nice. :) I agree, the story time ones that need a certain amount, I fade away in a hurry.

          • Shanzgood

Yeah, I used to get a lot of them knocking on my door in the neighborhood. They need two bucks for gas because they ran out a few blocks away but…no gas can. Or a teenage-looking boy needs to buy some infant formula? Um, no.

I did give bucks to the dude who painted my house number on my curb, though.

          • cmd resistor

And this lady didn’t even ask you for anything until you started up a conversation asking if she was ok.

          • Anna Elizabeth

            Exactly.

          • snark-lurker

i never wonder or worry if it is a “scam” cuz if it is, they have already earned whatever I give them…just by being there.

          • Shanzgood

I saw one once in Seattle. She used to hang out outside the local grocery store. We used to give her money sometimes because she looked so destitute and sad.

Then we ran into her at our local polling station during the election and hardly recognized her. She looked 20 years younger, was all dressed up, and festooned with silver and turquoise jewelry. And obviously had a permanent address since she was voting.

That’s when I started volunteering at shelters and offering food instead of cash most of the time. I only had one person ever refuse a freshly bought sandwich still in the unopened store wrapper and that was in the UK. He looked absolutely horrified. I was baffled. I ate the sandwich myself.

        • Jack Rogue Tenhet

Even if she wasn’t 100% honest with you, you still did a good thing.

My wife gives whatever change is in her pocket to this old guy who hangs out near the shop she works at. She says she knows he’s going to use the money to buy booze, but what’s really the harm in that? It’s something that makes him happy and helps him forget the sore lot he has.

We all need something like that in our lives. We’re all human and just doing the best we can with what we have. :)

          • Anna Elizabeth

Yeah. It made me think of my anxiety attack from yesterday, and how I got that problem solved. Hopefully she will feel a little better about her problem, and the Food Stamps/government office is right next to that store.

    • Good_Gawd_Yall

      • h4rr4r

I give them money even when they tell me they are using it for drugs. If I was in their shoes I would be trying to find any escape too.

        • Anna Elizabeth

      • Anna Elizabeth

*nods* I agree, she didn’t seem like a scammer, and if she uses it to buy liquor, well, she’s an adult.

        • Gorillionaire

Hell, I’d buy that old gal a drink if she needed it.

      • Shanzgood

There always used to be homeless guys panhandling outside the convenience store where I grabbed lunch all the time a few years ago. Because I rarely carry cash, I would buy an extra sandwich meal and offer it to them, if they wanted it (I didn’t presume to just foist it on them). One time, a guy took it and said he’d save it for a friend who needed it more than he did.

There’s nobody more generous than poor people sometimes.

        • snark-lurker

technically, today’s beggers aren’t “panhandlers”, they are “signers”…word on the street is: there is a difference

          • Shanzgood

Yeah, I forgot that. Panhandlers get up into your space and are kind of aggressive. The others just hang out there in one place on the sidewalk and either verbally ask or have the said sign.

She took it and with tears running down her face said thank you. She really seemed need it then.

As it happens, I had brought sandwiches. So I gave him a sandwich. He then continued straightaway to ask other passersby for help to get a sandwich (which totally confused my kids), but at least I could do something.

    • Anna Elizabeth

May you be 100% correct on this.

    • dshwa

I feel like the more Trump talks/tweets, the more the non voters last time get motivated against him.

      • Jack Rogue Tenhet

I have anecdotal evidence that supports what you’re saying 100%

My mother-in-law is a very sweet lady but she’s not politically minded at all. My wife says she never even registered to vote until 2002 when she moved and they started the motor-voter thing. The short of it is she doesn’t care for politics and she’s sick of him tweeting because it’s so “in your face and all the time” as she says.

Reminds me of when I was a kid, before cable, and anything on TV got interrupted for ANY reason.

“Why is the president on TV? He’s on every channel!

There are still just ordinary people in this country who really don’t live political lives and they’re getting sick of this TV personality interfering in their entertainment time.

        • And think of all the teenagers who are watching him now, and will be voting for the first time in 2020….. or 2018…..

        • Of course part of the issue is that “entertainment time” has now…let’s say “illegally occupied”…political lives so seamlessly ham-fistedly that people can no longer distinguish them.

    • kaydenpat

No because President Obama handled his Twitter account very well. I don’t remember any brouhaha about any of his tweets. Republican Presidents should stop tweeting given how out of control their current White House Occupant is.

FUCK THEM. I don’t give two shits HOW THEY ARE FEELING OR WHAT THEY THINK OR IF THEY WOULD DO IT AGAIN.
