Perhaps 101 is too challenging for you, Rosey Dearest. A few months ago, neither candidate was this far ahead in states won, delegates earned, or popular vote. A few months ago, Hillaryous still had a chance. Today? Nope.

The point of superdelegates is to act when neither candidate has the necessary votes to win the nomination outright. Then they are suppose to pick the candidate most likely to win the national election. (To avoid another McGovern debacle).What would be the point if they just went with the front runner?

Care to explain how a candydate who can't win Democratic primaries will be "most likely to win the national election?"

Myself and others (including on op-ed in the Post) has pointed out how fighting out the remainder of the contests helps the party. It excites voters, they'll go to states that usually don't get visited or catered-to and party registration increases with every state.

Now, imagine if we go into the convention without a nominee and where every vote would count. The TV/streaming ratings would probably reach an historic high, the networks would trip over themselves to give coverage and as a result, millions of additional voters and fence-sitters would be introduced to our platform, plus we could motivate the base.
