When Obama didn’t agree to McCain’s call for a series of 80 town halls, the McCain campaign used this as a justification to make nasty shit up about Obama, such as “Obama wants to teach your kindergartners how to bang each other.” When the Obama campaign made fun of McCain’s ~7 houses, the McCain campaign considered this an insult to Cindy McCain — wives are off-limits! — and responded with its first ad about, uh, Tony Rezko. And now we come to the present situation, in which the McCain campaign is using a random Congressman’s weekend rant to justify its upcoming usage of Jeremiah Wright. MORE »

AMERICAN JUDICIAL SYSTEM IN THE TANK: Remember that sleazy Chicago guy, Tony Rezko, who sold Barack Obama a backyard for the Obama house so those cute little girls could play outside? Well, “U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve indefinitely delayed Rezko’s Oct. 28 sentencing date and told the parties to meet again for a status in the case in December.” [Chicago Sun-Times]

Beware. John McCain’s BRUTAL NO-HOLDS-BARRED RESPONSE AD OF DEATH about TONY REZKO is out, and you better be SCARED. Ha ha just kidding, it sucks. The ad distills Obama’s naive but benign relationship with Rezko into a more familiar, corrupt politician’s narrative: (1) Rezko bought Obama a house, so (2) Obama returned the favor by giving him $14 million in taxpayer money! The jury reached a verdict in the corruption trial of Chicago “slum landlord” Tony Rezko, the sleazy best friend of Barack Obama. Rezko was a prominent fundraiser for Obama back in the day, and even helped him buy his Hope Mansion in Chicago, and then they started dating, but Obama was too careerist commit to a gay relationship on the side. And that’s a good thing, because Tony won’t be around for trysts no mo’! He was convicted of “12 counts of wire and mail fraud, two counts of money laundering and two counts of aiding and abetting bribery.” But what’s the worst the judge could throw at him for such petty misdemeanors? Oh: “300 years in prison.” So what? Obama will pardon him in January, 2017, because why not? [Chicago Tribune]

The “corruption trial” for everyone’s favorite Chicago real estate developer, Tony “Slum Landlord” Rezko, began jury selection this morning. The verdict has somehow already been released, and Barack Obama is guilty of knowing him! Wait, what? No, the trial will go on forever — Patrick Fitzgerald is the prosecutor, and that guy takes his time. Chicago’s “Slum Landlord to the Stars,” Tony Rezko, was arrested for some “slum landlord” crime on Monday. Although Barack Obama, his ol’ pal from the community organizing days in the South Side, had claimed to not *really* have any interaction with this guy, he is now taking $150,000+ in Rezko-tainted donations and giving them to Charity, and this is a Hopeful Change. Apparently he and Barry were running some kind of global drug circus through the Panama Canal and cocaine and heroin and Jesse Jackson and stuff! That’s what an “alleged bond violation” means, right?
