Ben Domenech: Fireproofing His Master’s House

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

regnery.jpgHere’s where we stood as of yesterday:

* Regnery dismissed blogosphere pariah Ben Domenech before the Post was embarrassed into it because of, so they claimed, simple conflict of interest issues.
* Domenech — along with a couple others in positions to know — told us quite clearly that there wasn’t anything more to the story.
* But we also heard better, more interesting stuff.

What we’ve heard today, along with a little bit o’ reporting, is after the jump:

Ben Domenech: I Am Surprisingly Fair to My Old Bosses

Tuesday, March 28th, 2006

wpLogo_250x42.gifWell, we do have friends with in vast right-wing conspiracy, it turns out. But they’re still unwilling to give us dirt, alas — they’re so loyal, why can’t they be like our “unnamed” Democratic friends who so readily trash themselves in print? Our off-the-record sources insist that the Regnery statement on Domenech was totally on-the-level no-funny-stuff, and, speaking very politely on-the-record is Ben Domenech himself, who sends this along: MORE »

Do You Happen To Have Friends Who Work For the Vast Rightwing Conspiracy?

Tuesday, March 28th, 2006

So here’s the deal: Domenech is out at Regnery. And he has been since before the plagiarism thing dropped. The “official” reason being that blogging for the Post would “interfere” with his duties there. Which seems a bit suspect to us. NewsMax’s Advice for the Single Militia Man

Monday, November 14th, 2005

As subscribers to wingnutty NewsMax.com’s “newsletter,” we’re used to a fair amount of spam that seems spawned from late-night talk radio and the back pages of comic books: Mostly ads for Regnery books and gold investments scams. Today, however, delivered something a little different:

Oooooooooohkay
Gives a certain, not-entirely-surprising insight into the NewsMax demographic, no? As for the advice itself, it seems targeted to either the kind of guy who lives alone in a cabin in the woods with a collection of firearms or the kind of guy who wishes he lived alone in a cabin in the woods with a collection of firearms. Both kinds of guys would like a pretty, pliant ladyfriend to keep the cabin tidy:
Have you ever noticed that the really attractive women never seem to be attracted “nice” guys?…I realize that this doesn’t make a lot of logical sense, and it’s hard to ACCEPT… but GET OVER IT.

More Dr. Bonner’s-type screedy “advice” after the jump.
